Subject: Conclusion Report of the Voras-Nidže Commission Investigation into the Central Asian Union and Blue Wolves Agency
21st of March 2024

To all Representatives within the UAN,

I am writing to provide you with the detailed conclusion report of the Voras-Nidže Commission's comprehensive investigation into the involvement of the Central Asian Union and Blue Wolves Organisation in the recent terrorist attack on the border of the Ottoman Empire and South Slavia.

The investigation, conducted with meticulous attention to detail, aimed to uncover the truth behind the tragic events and identify those responsible for perpetrating this heinous act. After extensive examination of all available evidence, including witness testimonies, forensic analysis, and intelligence reports, the commission has reached several key findings.

First and foremost, I am pleased to inform you that all high-ranking officials of the Blue Wolves Organisation and the Central Asian government who were under investigation have been cleared of any involvement in the attack. The commission's thorough review of their actions and communications revealed no evidence of complicity or wrongdoing on their part.

Furthermore, the commission has determined that the Blue Wolves Organisation as a whole cannot be held accountable for the terrorist attack. While certain individuals within the organisation were implicated in the planning and execution of the operation, their actions were undertaken without proper authorization or oversight.

The primary responsibility for the attack lies with Commander Tynychbek Abdraimov and 11 of his subordinates, who initiated the operation without proper authorization from higher authorities. 11 of which are now in the custody of the commission as a result of aid from the Central Asian government in their capture, however Commander Abdraimov still remains at large. We are doing all we can to ensure his safe bringing into custody.

In addition to identifying the perpetrators, the commission has compiled a comprehensive dossier of evidence, including intercepted communications, surveillance footage, and forensic analysis of certain scenes related to the incident. This evidence has been handed over to the appropriate authorities for further review and prosecution.

As we move forward, it is imperative that we remain vigilant in our efforts to combat terrorism and uphold the rule of law. The Central Asian government and the Blue Wolves Organisation are committed to working closely with international partners to prevent future attacks and ensure the safety and security of all citizens.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you require any further information or assistance regarding the investigation. We remain dedicated to transparency and accountability in all matters related to national security and counterterrorism efforts.

Sincerely,

Vincent Chakma

"My fellow Egyptians

Today I stand before you with a heavy heart. It is with great sadness that I address you at this moment, as we face difficult challenges.

Over the past few months, this nation has witnessed a wave of political demonstrations and violent confrontations between police and protesters. These protests have become a way to express dissatisfaction with the State, demanding change from the government. It is undeniable that our nation has faced significant challenges in recent years, such as stagnation, shortages, and unemployment have plagued our society, leading to a sense of disillusionment and unrest among the people.

Throughout this tumultuous time, the military has supported our nation in its entirety. They have remained steadfast in their commitment to safeguarding the stability and security of our nation, as well as contributing to the production of food and materials. Their professionalism and unwavering commitment to supporting our national interests have been commendable, even during times of internal unrest.

In light of these recent developments, I have concluded that it is in the best interest of this nation to relinquish power to the Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Nabil Yassin Saad. Lieutenant General Saad shall assume power exactly forty-eight hours from now. This decision is not one I have made lightly, but it is one made out of necessity to ensure the well-being of our great country. By transferring power to the Armed Forces, the government hopes to pave the way for a new beginning. The military will be in discussion with the opposition to negotiate the nation's future.

The Chief of General Staff will have the authority to implement necessary reforms and address the root causes of the discontent that has led to protests. He will work with opposition leaders to establish a transparent and accountable government, focused on creating a more prosperous and inclusive society for all Egyptians.

To my supporters, I ask you to show solidarity with the military as they guide Egypt through a new chapter. God has willed that the monarchy ends here, and we must all work together to ensure the prosperity of the homeland. For now, the royal family and I will reside in Alexandria at the Al-Safa Palace. While I will no longer serve as your sovereign, I will forever remain a leader to my people and support the homeland.

May God bless Egypt and Her people."

OFFICE OF THE WUZURG FRAMADAR

The Central Government of Iran expresses its concern over the apparent transfer of power from the monarchy to the military, a dangerous tactic that could potentially worsen problems for Egypt. Full power to the military is a dangerous tool that has been used in the past as a gateway to dictatorships and terrible regimes with untold human suffering.

Such actions could result in a greater conflict due to Egypt's role in the Middle East and the Mediterranean Sea, with the great importance and security of the Suez Canal coming into question. Being a critical waterway for the world's trade, such instability within Egypt could potentially threaten the many billions of people of the world indirectly as well as the 150 million people of Egypt.

The Central Government will continue to carefully observe the events in Egypt as they continue, and strongly encourages all Iranians overseas in Egypt to depart back to Iran at once.

The Republic of Misr Alkubraa

Urgent Broadcast: Address to the Nation by Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Nabil Yassin Saad
بث عاجل: خطاب إلى الأمة من قبل رئيس الأركان العامة الفريق نبيل ياسين سعد

"Ladies and Gentlemen,

I stand before you today to address a crucial point in the history of our nation, the demit of Sultan Tutankhamun I. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in our journey toward a peaceful and democratic future. In this speech, I will outline the steps taken to establish a provisional government, its composition, and the key priorities that will guide its mandate.

After the unprecedented mass political demonstrations and violent confrontations between state security and protesters, the Sultan decided to relinquish his powers and step down from the throne. Given this situation, it was imperative to establish a credible provisional government that would stabilize the country, restore stability, and pave the way to a popular government. This provisional government, under the name 'Committee for Democracy and Justice', will be tasked with overseeing the transition process and ensuring that all voices and interests are represented.

The provisional government will be made up of leaders from the Social Democratic Union, People’s Islamic Front, and Party for Socialist Action. The people have put their trust in these parties to act as their voice, and they will be a key part of a smooth transition. These parties have demonstrated their commitment to democratic principles and have a proven track record of working in the best interests of the nation.

The provisional government's top priority will be to restore public order and stability to the country. This will involve implementing security measures to ensure the safety of all Egyptians while ensuring that the rights of all its citizens are protected. The Committee will also initiate a comprehensive investigation into the acts of violence and human rights violations that occurred during crackdowns on demonstrations.

The provisional government's second major task will be to facilitate the process of drafting a constitution for a new state. The planned constitution will serve as a foundation for a just and democratic system, ensuring equal rights and opportunities for all Egyptians. The government will work closely with experts and political parties to ensure that the constitution reflects the will of the people and safeguards their interests. Although, at this moment, the future of the monarchy is unclear.

With this, I am pleased to announce that the military has agreed to entrust the decision of selecting the new head of government to the Committee for Democracy and Justice. The Committee, consisting of leading opposition leaders, is dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition and the establishment of a democratic government.

As I take on the role of a temporary head of state during this period, I assure you that I will do everything in my power to safeguard the interests of our nation. It is my utmost priority to maintain order and stability.

In terms of domestic policy, decisions will be made by the Committee for Democracy and Justice. The leadership and guidance of state institutions will be under the Committee's control. However, it is important to note that foreign policy will take precedence and will be managed by the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces. The Supreme Council of the Armed Forces will work closely with the provisional government to safeguard our national interests and protect the interests of our allies.

It is important to note that the current state institutions will remain in operation, and all legislation currently in place will remain unchanged. Until the announcement of a new constitution, there will be a limited impact on the structure of the government. The powers of the Crown will be exercised by the Chief of General Staff, while the powers of the Council of State and Minister of State will be exercised by the Committee for Democracy and Justice and its chairman.

I ask the public to work with the provisional government, as well as local governments. Our nation faces drastic challenges and the provisional government must focus its attention on reforming Egypt into a state that works for all, so cooperation is key. A prosperous future relies upon the people.

Peace be upon Egypt, as well as the mercy of God and His blessings."

President dos Santos recalls diplomats from Caracas

Diplomtic links to Venezuela severed as part of administration's ideological push

Bruno Almeida do Vale
Augusto Paim Fontes
Edgar Medeiras de Almeida

BOA VISTA Itamaraty has vacated its diplomatic premises in Venezuela, after the right-wing administration of President dos Santos announced it would recognize the opposition-led Venezuelan Government in Exile (VGIE) as the country's legitimate government.

Over 100 members of staff from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were redeployed elsewhere per the Diário Oficial da União. Venezuelan diplomats appointed by Caracas were also designated as 'persona non grata' and given 3 weeks to leave the country.

A travel warning was later issued for the 10,000 Brazilian expatriates residing in Venezuela.

The switch in diplomatic recognition has caused relations between the two countries to plummet. Venezuela's foreign ministry condemned the move and stated it would take action to defend its political interests. "All options are on the table", it wrote. "The fascist dos Santos government sets a poor example in recognizing and legitimizing unconstitutional renegades."

Brazil views the Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela (PSUV)-led government in Caracas as illegitimate following Jaime Barceló's fifth re-election as President of Venezuela* under dubious circumstances. Reports suggest the PSUV had engaged in concerted efforts to rig the election by interfering with the opposition's presidential primaries, placing armed soldiers near ballot boxes, suppressing the opposition's endorsements, placing exit bans on dissidents, and more.

His only opponent was Benjamín Pérez Capriles of the Mesa de la Unidad Democrática (MUD) - all other competitors had been allegedly disqualified - who won only 11.44% of the vote. Barceló, in contrast, scored a landslide victory with 85.97% of the vote. These figures are disputed by unofficial media outlets and think tanks in both Brazil and Venezuela, who claim Barceló was deeply unpopular and could not have won by such a high margin.

In response to the reported irregularities, Capriles invoked Article 233 of the Venezuelan Constitution to declare himself the country's next president, stating that he would lead the VGIE "to liberate Venezuela from the PSUV and ensure the conduct of free and fair elections."

The VGIE is comprised primarily of opposition figures who have fled Venezuela over the last decade and resettled in Brazil. It receives millions in donations from émigrés and defectors each year, which it has used to establish a temporary headquarters in Boa Vista.

Capriles' campaign team could not be reached for comment.

Breaking News: Military Takes Control in Egypt, Promises Democratic Transition
خبر عاجل: الجيش يسيطر على مصر ويعد بالانتقال الديمقراطي

In a decisive move aimed at quelling weeks of mounting unrest and demands for political reform, the Egyptian military has taken charge following the Sultan's surrender of power. The announcement reverberated through the nation via an official declaration by the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, articulating their primary objective of ensuring the stability and security of Egypt during this transitional period.

Central to their strategy is the formation of a Committee for Democracy and Justice, a body entrusted with the monumental task of shepherding the country from a monarchical structure towards a more participatory and democratic governance model. The Committee is poised to play a pivotal role in drafting constitutional reforms, organizing free and fair elections, and fostering civic engagement.

The news of the military's intervention and the promise of a democratic transition sparked scenes of celebration across the streets of Cairo. Thousands of Egyptians poured out, waving national flags and chanting slogans in support of the military's intervention. The streets are filled with a sense of hope and optimism, as citizens envision a future marked by justice and accountability.

However, amidst the celebrations, voices of caution and apprehension have emerged from various political factions and civil society groups. While some have welcomed the military's intervention as a necessary step towards stability and reform, others have expressed concerns about the implications for democratic governance and civil liberties. Calls for continued dialogue and inclusivity continue through the corridors of power as Egypt navigates this delicate transition phase.

Before the Sultan's unexpected decision to step down, reports surfaced of heightened military presence in downtown Alexandria, stirring speculation about the role of the armed forces in the unfolding political drama. Eyewitnesses recounted scenes of armored vehicles lining the streets and troops patrolling key intersections, fueling rumors of potential intervention. The timing of these maneuvers, occurring mere days before the Sultan's announcement, has led to discussion about the extent of military influence in prompting his resignation.

Amidst the swirl of speculation, whispers emerged suggesting that Tutankhamun I, facing mounting pressure from both internal dissent and military scrutiny, may have been coerced into relinquishing power by the military establishment. While such claims remain largely unsupported, a formidable military presence in the heart of Alexandria raises questions about the dynamics at play behind the scenes.

Today's developments signify a watershed moment in Egypt's history, with the euphoria on the streets of Cairo symbolizing a collective yearning for a new nation. With the military at the reins of power and setting the stage for a democratic transition, the journey towards democracy is fraught with challenges. Still, amidst the uncertainty, one thing remains clear – the people of Egypt are determined to chart a course towards a brighter future.

The United Kingdom of The United British Kingdom

The Foreign Office

The United Kingdom Foreign Office, after meticulous analysis of gathered intelligence, confirms that the recent shift in power in Egypt, from the monarchy to military control, was not a peaceful transition but a forceful coup. This orchestrated move involved a high degree of violence and military strategizing, deeply troubling to the UK government.

We are particularly concerned about the safety and well-being of Sultan Tutankhamun I and his family during these turbulent times. The UK, standing firm in its commitment to human rights and international law, extends an offer of asylum to the Sultan and his relatives, ensuring they have a peaceful and secure residence away from the unrest.

In response to the crisis, the UK has mobilized a significant operation to safeguard British nationals and other vulnerable individuals in Egypt. Under the command of Commodore Ian Townsend of Royal Britannia and Lieutenant Colonel James Porter of the Royal Marines, a complex evacuation mission is underway. This operation focuses on two critical locations: the British embassy in Luxor and the British Consulate in Alexandria. Both sites are now hubs for our concerted efforts to conduct safe and orderly evacuations.

The mission underscores the UK's proactive stance in protecting its citizens abroad and aiding those in imminent danger due to the current political instability in Egypt. We are deploying all necessary resources, including naval and air support, to ensure the success of these operations and to facilitate the swift and safe relocation of individuals to secure environments.

The United Kingdom firmly advocates for the immediate cessation of hostilities in Egypt and calls upon all parties involved to engage in dialogue and pursue a peaceful resolution. The UK government remains ready to support initiatives that aim to restore democracy and uphold the rule of law in Egypt. Our commitment to the Egyptian people and the international community is unwavering, as we strive to foster peace, stability, and justice in the region.

Press Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
بيان صحفي صادر عن وزارة الخارجية

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs vehemently refutes the assertions put forth by certain members of the international community concerning the transition of authority from Sultan Tutankhamun I to Lieutenant General Nabil Yassin Saad and the welfare of the royal household. Such claims are not only devoid of substance but also serve to support unwarranted speculation and instability within our nation.

First and foremost, the temporary administration in Egypt emphatically reaffirms that the handover of power from Sultan Tutankhamun I to Lieutenant General Nabil Yassin Saad transpired peacefully and seamlessly. Sultan Tutankhamun I voluntarily relinquished his position after thorough deliberation, in complete accordance with the counsel of the royal court. We possess unwavering confidence in the integrity of our provisional government and the democratic principles it is looking to uphold.

Furthermore, it is deeply disappointing that there exist insinuations regarding the safety of the royal family. We attest, without reservation, that no member of the royal household has been subjected to physical harm. Instead, they are presently under the supervision of house arrest within the confines of Al-Safa Palace. House arrest was approved by the Committee for Democracy and Justice following an investigation into police brutality and violence. The safeguarding and welfare of every individual within the royal family remain paramount concerns for the temporary administration.

Greater Egypt remains committed to maintaining open lines of communication with international partners and stakeholders. We encourage them to rely on verified information, refrain from making unfounded claims, and support efforts to promote peace and stability in the country.

البث المقرر: خطاب إلى الأمة لهادي محمود منصور

"My fellow Egyptians,

As the Chairman of the Committee for Democracy and Justice, it is my honor to address you today on the steps we are taking to transform our beloved nation into a modern state. This transition is of utmost importance for our future, as it marks a new chapter in Egypt's journey towards true democratic governance and justice for all.

The first step in our process is to stabilize the major cities, particularly Alexandria and Cairo, where demonstrations have been taking place. Our goal is to allow these demonstrations to simmer down while maintaining a minimal level of resistance from the security forces. We believe that through peaceful dialogue, we can find common ground and resolve the grievances that have fueled the protests. Additionally, the Committee for Democracy and Justice will continue working on investigations into police brutality.

As we work towards stabilizing the major cities, the Committee for Democracy and Justice will begin work on a draft constitution. This constitution will serve as the foundation for a republican state, replacing the semi-constitutional monarchy that previously governed Egypt. The constitution will not only define the structure and powers of the government but also safeguard the rights and liberties of all Egyptians. It will ensure that every citizen has equal representation and the opportunity to participate in the political process.

Once the first draft of the constitution is completed by the Committee for Democracy and Justice, it will be submitted to the people in a referendum. The nation of Banglades h has agreed to oversee the referendum, ensuring that it is free and fair. The referendum will provide an opportunity for the people of Egypt to express their opinion on the proposed constitution. The results of the referendum will guide the Committee for Democracy and Justice as they revise and finalize the document.

Our ultimate goal is to develop a constitution that gains the approval of a majority. When the Committee for Democracy and Justice is satisfied that a draft has achieved this, we will work towards its full implementation. This implementation will include all necessary measures, such as the election of a legislature and the formation of a popular government.

We understand that this transition will not be easy, and there will be challenges along the way. However, we are confident that by working together and adhering to the principles of democracy, justice, and unity, we can build a better future for Egypt. Let us stand united as one people, committed to the creation of a prosperous nation.

Thank you for your continued support and trust. Together, we will build a nation that is a beacon of democracy for the world."

WAQFS TO BE REGULATED BY THE GOVERNMENT

Islamic charitable endowments, known as waqfs have been a significant part of Muslim charity throughout Iran. Such charities usually involve the donation of a plot of land for Islamic purposes. However, waqfs are unregulated by the government and generally left on their own. This lack of regulation has enabled many front organizations to pose as waqfs, and according to the government, engage in illicit activities such as money laundering and places for money storage, being tax-exempted.

The Imperial Diet, with support from the Council of State, has recently passed the "Waqf Regulation Act," a law designed to, as its name suggests, regulate waqfs. All Islamic charities will be treated like every other Iranian charity, and are required to register with the Iranian Government. Waqfs will be placed under a greater level of scrutiny on par with other charities.

However, this law has come under criticism by the Iranian Muslim League and the Iranian Muslim community for being discriminatory against Islam and not according to Sharia law, although the Central Government spokesman has responded to these accusations as "baseless."

The United Kingdom underscores the paramount importance of preventing nuclear proliferation in the interest of global peace and security. We believe firmly that the unchecked proliferation of nuclear weapons poses a grave threat to the stability of the international community.

It is our shared responsibility to uphold and strengthen existing non-proliferation agreements and mechanisms to prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons technology and materials. Any actions that contribute to the spread of nuclear weapons capabilities must be addressed swiftly and decisively.

In this regard, we wish to express our concern regarding the placement of nuclear weapons abroad by any state actor. Such actions have the potential to exacerbate tensions and destabilize regions, undermining efforts towards peaceful coexistence and disarmament.

The United Kingdom remains committed to constructive dialogue and cooperation with all nations to address the challenges posed by nuclear proliferation. We encourage open communication and collaboration to ensure the effective implementation of measures aimed at preventing the spread of nuclear weapons.

Subject: Nuclear Proliferation

Thank you for your letter, Deputy Ambassador. Like you and the government you represent, the Central Government shares the same concern for nuclear proliferation. This is specially in the face of the passage of a prohibition of nuclear armament by the United Assembly of Nations. The creation of new nuclear programs is evidence that the world has further regressed in its goals to remove nuclear weapons. Indeed, the problem is that in the most simplest terms, nuclear capability is a zero-sum game: Those who have them inherently have a strategic advantage over those who don't. In that same light, it is easy to see how the world continues to be hunted by the specter of nuclear armageddon.

In the part of China, our military has developed nuclear weapons long before any such treaty was passed by any international body. Our nuclear armament is not only an important deterrent but also an "insurance policy" in case any belligerent, imperialist government dares to attack China once more. Even then, we are responsible actors and have always pledged to never use nuclear weapons unless they are used by others first (the so-called "No-First-Use" policy).

Thanks for reaching out. Hope all is well.

      Border Incident
      March, 2024

      |Hamas militants clash with IDF border guards|

    | Last night, videos emerged depicting a shootout between Israeli Defense Force [IDF] security guards and suspected Hamas-affiliated militants at the [Al-Qarara] crossing. The sudden escalation of violence, captured in multiple uploaded videos, illustrated a low-intensity skirmish, with combatants from both sides seeking cover and exchanging sporadic gunfire. Civilians present at the scene were inadvertently caught in the crossfire, resulting in a few injuries from stray bullets. Fortunately, there were no reported fatalities or serious injuries, and the situation reportedly de-escalated before additional [IDF] reinforcements could arrive. |

    | In the hours following the incident, a media frenzy erupted, amplifying the brief yet perilous clash. Additional videos and images emerged, showing heavily armored personnel carriers reinforcing the bridge, while [IDF] soldiers and local police maintained a vigilant presence to deter further attacks. As dawn broke, reporters from both local and national news outlets flooded the scene, eager to cover the developments. Among them was [IDF] Second Lieutenant [Nate Rosenthal], who took the lead in conducting interviews. |

      | Nate Rosenthal, Second Lieutenant | “Good morning, everyone. I'm Second Lieutenant Rosenthal, and I'm overseeing today's security operations along the Al-Qarara bridge. I understand there may be questions, so I'll take a few before I resume leading the operation.”

      | Nate Rosenthal, Second Lieutenant | “Thank you for your question. Securing the Al-Qarara crossing during these heightened tensions is our foremost concern. Our strategy encompasses intensified surveillance, bolstered patrols, and close coordination with local authorities. As a precautionary measure, the crossing will remain closed until long-term safety can be assured. Regrettably, I must conclude the Q&A session here.”

    | After the interview, [IDF] engineer teams promptly arrived and began installing additional barriers at the entrance of the bridge, as well as laying down barbed wire along its span. Additionally, drone operators from the engineering teams were observed conducting surveillance on the Gaza side of the bridge, where densely populated towns mirrored those on the Israeli side. Several hours later, official statements from leadership emerged, categorically denying any involvement in the skirmish and vehemently condemning statements made by certain Knesset members. These officials labeled calls for a blockade of the Gaza Strip as provocative and denounced them as spreading falsehoods. |

New Delhi, India - 0807hrs

The morning sun cast a warm glow over the bustling streets of New Delhi as I stepped out of the taxi, the cacophony of city life assaulting my senses. The air was thick with the scent of spices and exhaust fumes, mingling with the excited chatter of vendors and commuters going about their daily routines. With a sense of purpose, I navigated the winding backstreets, every step bringing me closer to my target.

Arriving at the pre-prepared safehouse, I exchanged a silent nod with the contact waiting for me. Without a word, I followed them inside, the interior dimly lit and sparsely furnished. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as I retrieved the flour bomb, concealed within innocuous packaging but harbouring a deadly payload.

As the clock struck nine, I emerged from the safehouse, the weight of my mission settling upon my shoulders like a shroud. The protest site in central New Delhi awaited, a sea of discontent brimming with banners and placards bearing defiant slogans. The crowd buzzed with anticipation, the impending arrival of the royals sparking a palpable tension in the air.

1037hrs

I melted into the throng, my senses alert to every movement and sound. My target, the crown princess of the United Kingdom, stood alongside her husband, the Prince, their regal presence a stark contrast to the unrest brewing around them. With practised precision, I unleashed the flour bomb, watching as it sailed through the air before landing with a soft thud on the princess’ cheek.

Chaos erupted in the aftermath, the crowd erupting into a frenzy of shouts and cries as the flour billowed around the royal couple. Seizing the opportunity, I shed my outer layer, revealing the traditional kurta beneath, its pristine white fabric serving as my disguise amidst the tumult.

1220hrs

With the crowd's attention diverted, I slipped away unnoticed, my heart pounding with the exhilaration of the deed done. Retreating to the safety of the safehouse, I made contact with my client, relaying the news of my success with a sense of grim satisfaction. I issued my ultimatum for payment, the weight of my words heavy with the implication of consequences should they fail to comply.

"Speak," came the terse reply, the voice tinged with an undercurrent of anticipation.

"The task is done," I stated simply, my voice devoid of emotion. "You will see it on the news shortly."

There was a pause on the other end, the weight of my words hanging in the air like a heavy shroud. I could almost feel the tension radiating through the phone line as my client processed the information.

"Excellent," came the response, a note of satisfaction lacing the words. "You have done well."

I allowed myself a brief moment of satisfaction at the praise, but quickly refocused on the matter at hand. "Once you see it on the news, I expect to have my final payment wired," I stated firmly, the demand carrying the weight of an unspoken threat. "And if it is not done by midnight tomorrow, then you will suffer consequences."

There was a palpable tension in the air as my ultimatum hung between us, the silence stretching on for what felt like an eternity. Finally, my client spoke, their voice betraying a hint of unease. "Understood," they replied with a noticeable waver in their voice, the words heavy with the weight of their implication.

With that, I ended the call, the connection severed with a final click. As I returned the phone to its cradle, I couldn't shake the feeling of anticipation that lingered in the air. The mission was complete, but the repercussions of its success remained to be seen.

1659hrs

As the day wore on, I remained hidden from prying eyes, my senses attuned to every sound and movement outside. The hours stretched into eternity as I waited in the shadows, the anticipation gnawing at my nerves like a persistent itch. But patience was my ally, and I knew that my moment would come.

As dusk settled over the city, I emerged from the safehouse, the cover of darkness providing me with the cloak of anonymity I needed. Hailing from a taxi, I navigated the familiar streets of New Delhi, the rhythmic hum of the engine a soothing backdrop to my thoughts.

1735hrs

Arriving at the airport, I made my way through the bustling terminal, the anticipation of departure coursing through my veins. Boarding the plane, I settled into my seat, the soft embrace of the leather offering a moment's respite from the chaos of the day.

1901hrs

As the plane taxied down the runway and lifted into the night sky, I allowed myself a moment of reflection. The mission was accomplished, my part in the grand scheme of things complete. And as the lights of New Delhi faded into the distance, I knew that I would soon disappear into the shadows once more, leaving behind only whispers of my presence in the world.

Vilnian Volunteer Militiaman Awarded Rare Iron Wolf Cross

Today in Vilnius, the Baltic Confederation’s flag adorned the city alongside the blooming trees and tight cobbled streets. For the first time in the 2020s, a Vilnian has been awarded the Iron Wolf Cross, one of the most historic medals given to our armed forces.

The Iron Wolf Cross was last given in 2021, to Talve Tuuled of Mustvee, an Eastern Estonian. Given the historic nature of the cross and its strong connection with Lithuanians, Vilnians spent most of Friday celebrating this momentous occasion. The recipient this time is Tomas Kavaliauskas of Žvėrynas, Vilnius.

Tomas was given the Iron Wolf Cross after his actions on December 16, 2023. Tomas is a member of the Baltic Kaitseliit (Defence League) and had been walking home from his service station on the icy streets in Prienai, just outside Kaunas. Amidst the frigid night, he noticed the headlights of a Marshrutka (regional taxi). As he turned the corner into the alley that brought him back to his home, he noticed the Marshrutka slide on the icy street and crash into the freezing water of the Nemunas River. Using his survival skills in the Kaitseliit, he was able to solely assist the driver out of the bus. From there, he asked how many souls were on board, one. Ilze Pētersonem was the remaining passenger and had been returning home from her granddaughter's house. Tomas was able to enter the partially submerged vehicle and carry Ilze from her seat in the icy water and then onto land. From this point, locals managed to warm the two survivors and Tomas eventually left to return to his home.

Following his actions, local members of Prienai, familiar with the local Kaitseliit outpost nearby, contacted the Baltic Defense administrators of the Suvalkija Region. Eventually, Tomas was found, and just today granted the Iron Wolf Cross by Brigadier General Lauri Viik.

The Iron Wolf Cross is especially significant to the city of Vilnius, as the Iron Wolf was the creature that inspired the creation of Vilnius. The Iron Wolf is a Baltic icon and the medal represents true courage and a committed citizen.

The tale of the Iron Wolf can be traced to the Grand Duke Gediminas (1275-1341) who was hunting near the fork of the Vilnia and Neris Rivers. The Grand Duke was hunting the now-extinct auroch cattle deep into the night. Amidst the untouched and sacred forest, the Grand Duke was awakened and witnessed the moon glimmering down on an Iron Wolf standing atop the nearby hill. As the Grand Duke was humbled by the sight, the wolf lifted its snout and howled into the air. The noise was so great, it was as loud as a hundred wolves. The Duke later asked the krivis (pagan priest), Lizdeika to explain the moment. The priest stated that the Iron Wolf represents a great city and castle, which must be erected on that site. That site would then bring upon a great city, with lineages of great rulers, and a history that will echo throughout the world. That city was erected and named Vilnius, after the Lithuanian word for ripple.

Tomas gave a speech on the steps of the Vilnius Town Hall Square, shortly after being awarded the medal. Tomas stated:
“Being a good balt does not have any definition. However you can help your community, care for those you love, and be understanding of those you disagree with. Without my service in the Defense League, I would not have been there for Ilze. Amidst this beautiful city, and great weather…sometimes, it is easy to forget our roots as a forest people. If you can not learn the skills one needs in the forest, learn the skills to help others in the cities, villages, or whatever environment you are in. This country is full of people like Ilze and it is important that in these troubling times, we are there for each other.

Thanks to those in the Baltic Defense League for this medal, and special thanks to Brigadier General Lauri Viik. Without your service, I do not know what I would have done. Also, I would like to thank our Gods, who provided the Iron Wolf that inspired the creation of this city. The Iron Wolf is humble and resolute, even in the chaos of our ancient forests. I hope all balts can aspire to fulfill these qualities.”

Following the speech, Tomas and members of the volunteer Defense League joined locals in a massive celebration. Flowing down Gediminas Avenue, named after the Grand Duke from the Iron Wolf tale, the crowds waved a mix of Baltic and Vytis flags. Throughout the afternoon, vendors sold Cepelinai and cold Pilsners from local breweries. Both the award ceremony mixed with the arrival of spring, this day will hopefully be the start of a fresh beginning of a city that has endured so much in recent years.

                  PUBLIC NOTICES

The Office of the President has formally legalized gambling throughout Brazil to deregulate the national economy, and discourage paternalist market interventions.

Public gaming was formerly criminalised by President Eurico Gaspar Dutra, who passed Decree-law Nº 9.215 of 30 April 1946. The decree-law classified public gaming as a criminal misdemeanour that was punishable with a year of imprisonment and a fine of $1,000,000 reals.

Today, President Franco dos Santos formally repealed the decree-law, and replaced it with a new series of decrees to regulate gaming. The regulations, summarized in Schedule I, are minimally intrusive in line with the current administration's liberal focus.

There are no limits to what forms of gambling may take place in Brazil under the new reforms. This may include slot machines, table games, bingo, lotteries, sports betting, fights, races, and so on. It breaks Caixa Econômica Federal's 60-year long monopoly on lotteries.
