The Taxfree States of Zeder is a titanic, orderly nation, renowned for its frequent executions. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical, devout population of 20.643 billion Zederins are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The medium-sized government juggles the competing demands of Spirituality, Law & Order, and Education. The average income tax rate is 20.7%.

The strong Zederian economy, worth a remarkable 1,060 trillion rupees a year, is dominated by the Trout Farming industry, with significant contributions from Cheese Exports, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Basket Weaving. Average income is 51,376 rupees, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 4.1 times as much as the poorest.

Businesses have become paranoid as waves of lawsuits sweep the nation, workers have their fruitcake and eat it too, TV shows must meet strict ethnicity quotas, and the government is slowly introducing social welfare programs. Crime is well under control, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Zeder's national animal is the swan.

Zeder is ranked 131,512^th in the world and 2^nd in Xedas for Most Advanced Law Enforcement, scoring 1,791.88 on the Orwell Orderliness Index.
