The Join Lily of TLS 23 is a titanic, safe nation, remarkable for its ban on automobiles and suspicion of poets. The hard-working, devout population of 13.742 billion Join Lily have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The medium-sized government prioritizes Law & Order, with Defense, Administration, and Environment also on the agenda. The average income tax rate is 20.5%.

The Join Lily economy, worth 615 trillion Join Lilies a year, is led by the Beef-Based Agriculture industry, with major contributions from Tourism, Cheese Exports, and Basket Weaving. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is 44,790 Join Lilies, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 3.3 times as much as the poorest.

Cheese has become the new icon of political dissent, newlywed misogynists complain about their wives keeping their maiden names, the government regularly hires contractors to construct high rise apartments, and weird or unusual crimes merit cruel and unusual punishments. Crime, especially youth-related, is well under control, thanks to a well-funded police force. TLS 23's national animal is the Join Lily, which is also the nation's favorite main course.

TLS 23 is ranked 128,889^th in the world and 4^th in Northern Orient for Most Advanced Law Enforcement, scoring 1,844.78 on the Orwell Orderliness Index.
