The Dominion of Riberiyn Border Patrol is a very large, cultured nation, renowned for its compulsory military service, state-planned economy, and punitive income tax rates. The hard-nosed population of 289 million Riberiyns are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The large, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Welfare, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 56.7%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but sluggish Riberiyn economy, worth 9.20 trillion Rings a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector is led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Trout Farming, Basket Weaving, and Woodchip Exports. Average income is 31,832 Rings, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Raindances intended to summon storms instead attract tourists, hidden bedroom-cams are installed to catch mothers doing their kids' homework, families are left homeless as entire suburbs are bulldozed on the whim of tribal chiefs, and internet searches for the inventor of the three-wheeled steam-powered Riberiyn weed picker are way up. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Riberiyn Border Patrol's national animal is the Fox, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Riberiyn Border Patrol is ranked 175,333^rd in the world and 2^nd in Riberiyn for Largest Cheese Export Sector, scoring 1,455.83 on the Mozzarella Productivity Index.
