The Republic of Protection Protector is a colossal, environmentally stunning nation, remarkable for its keen interest in outer space, parental licensing program, and stringent health and safety legislation. The hard-nosed, devout population of 3.037 billion Protection Protectorians are prohibited from doing almost everything except voting, which they do timidly and conservatively.

The relatively small, socially-minded government prioritizes Defense, with Administration, Education, and Industry also on the agenda. The average income tax rate is 22.9%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The Protection Protectorian economy, worth 159 trillion kronor a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient, quite specialized black market in Arms Manufacturing, Beef-Based Agriculture, Trout Farming, and Information Technology. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 52,503 kronor, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Strict term limits have been applied to all elected offices, commemoration of the Great Starland War costs almost as much as the war itself, soldiers stream their classified military operations live for millions of fans, and excessive wheelchair ramps on government buildings have been compared to theme park attractions. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Protection Protector's national animal is the bison, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Protection Protector is ranked 45,312^th in the world and 8^th in Starland for Largest Trout Fishing Sector, scoring 4,895.82 on the Nemo Depletion Efficiency Index.
