The Community of NSForward is a massive, socially progressive nation, renowned for its punitive income tax rates, devotion to social welfare, and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate, democratic population of 1.756 billion NSForwardians love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

The large, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Welfare, Education, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 54.6%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but stagnant NSForwardian economy, worth 23.7 trillion dollars a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is quite specialized, is mostly made up of the Trout Farming industry, with significant contributions from Pizza Delivery, Retail, and Soda Sales. Average income is 13,471 dollars, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The right to free speech is being drastically curtailed, college students make ends meet by selling their kidneys, a favorite "life hack" for gap year backpackers is to pretend to be homeless for government handouts, and the official NSForwardian Phrase Book weighs as much as a small child. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. NSForward's national animal is the unicorn.

NSForward is ranked 67,942^nd in the world and 1^st in NSForward for Nicest Citizens, with 16.29 average smiles per day.
