The Eternal Republic of Nova-Roma is a gargantuan, genial nation, ruled by Consul Cesare Bentivoglio with a fair hand, and renowned for its museums and concert halls, multi-spousal wedding ceremonies, and soft-spoken computers. The compassionate, democratic, devout population of 26.068 billion Romans hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

The medium-sized, liberal, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Education, Defense, and Environment. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of New Rome. The average income tax rate is 65.4%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The all-consuming Roman economy, worth a remarkable 3,360 trillion Soliduses a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is broadly diversified, is led by the Tourism industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology, Book Publishing, and Arms Manufacturing. Average income is an impressive 128,918 Soliduses, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.3 times as much as the poorest.

Violently opinionated speakers can be heard preaching their hateful views on every street corner, commuters often break into synchronised para-para dancing for no reason at all, spoiler warnings are now given out before political speeches, and Nova-Roma is notorious for its citizens' infidelity. Crime is totally unknown. Nova-Roma's national animal is the eagle, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies, and its national religion is Roman Catholicism.

Nova-Roma is ranked 15,755^th in the world and 4^th in Mediterranean for Nicest Citizens, with 24.76 average smiles per day.
