The Republic of Lancer- is a mammoth, cultured nation, ruled by Lancer with an even hand, and remarkable for its museums and concert halls, keen interest in outer space, and punitive income tax rates. The medium-sized government juggles the competing demands of Education, Administration, and Law & Order. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Card Castle. The average income tax rate is 66.3%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The all-consuming Lancer-ian economy, worth 774 trillion deltacoins a year, is fairly diversified and led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Information Technology, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Book Publishing. Lancer-'s national animal is the duck, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.
