The democratic, devout population of 482 million Dirkians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The large government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Healthcare, and Administration. The average income tax rate is 44.7%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but underdeveloped Dirkian economy, worth 15.5 trillion deniers a year, is dominated by the Trout Farming industry, with significant contributions from Basket Weaving, Cheese Exports, and Door-to-door Insurance Sales. Black market activity is notable. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 32,136 deniers, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.1 times as much as the poorest.

Confessions don't count if suffixed with "izzle", Dirqnum recently hosted the least successful trade negotiations since The Phantom Menace, children are expected to carve their own toys, and primary candidates are replaced if they fail to compliment Leader's hair. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Dirqnum's national animal is the Panthera uncia, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.
