The Ecclesiastical Frontierist of Askrieg is a mammoth, orderly nation, ruled by Keyser Söze with an iron fist, and remarkable for its strictly enforced bedtime, digital currency, and compulsory military service. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical, humorless population of 5.765 billion Askriegs are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

The tiny, corrupt, well-organized government prioritizes Defense, although Industry and Law & Order are also considered important, while Social Policy and Welfare are ignored. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Aurora City. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 6.2%.

The frighteningly efficient Askriegian economy, worth 718 trillion bucks a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Retail industry, with major contributions from Arms Manufacturing, Gambling, and Uranium Mining. Black market activity is frequent. Average income is an impressive 124,667 bucks, with the richest citizens earning 7.9 times as much as the poorest.

Books are considered luxuries only available to the incredibly wealthy, the dead are minced up and sold to people in burger form, death row is annually emptied to feed the nation's hunger for televised murder-games, and children gain their first sex education from reading the dictionary. Crime is a problem. Askrieg's national animal is the rat, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its national religion is Capitalism.

Askrieg is ranked 5,370^th in the world and 16^th in Talonia for Highest Disposable Incomes, with 116,938 Standard Monetary Units.
