Due to the importance of the issue to Arvug, the First Councillor himself will be sent to the Anzian Round-Table Meetings, but also expresses his view that the Anzian government should be allowed a delegation to represent Anzio's interests. "The Anzian question is of the utmost interest to the Commonwealth, our government will support Anzian interests where possible, however we also aim to encourage the Combined Syndicates to interact in a positive manner with the Galactic Community and encourage the Combined Syndicates to secure and uphold its governing mandates from the people, Therefore we see these talks as a way to potentially engage positively with the Syndicates. If these talks succeed here than it will mark a great reversal of the mistakes of the past that i unfortunately was beholden to." An Undertone of Disharmony The news of the recent rise of anarcho-communists in the neighbouring The imperium of women has been hard to swallow for the fledgeling pirate republic of Venuria. The Venurian legislature has convened to discuss the official government stance on the new rogue state over several days, with the divided Senate unable to make much progress. With no party having a majority, and a coalition of at least three being necessary for anything getting through, negotiations have broken down as many of the parties have radically different ideas. The Royals have called for harsh sanctions and high tariffs, even going so far as a nation-wide blockade, with a travel ban and an armed military intervention on the part of the deposed government. The Prosperiots, meanwhile, wish to negotiate favourable trade deals with the new government, but nevertheless support the travel ban to stem the flow of revolutionaries across the border. They stand against any calls for military intervention, seeing it as an overreach of government to intervene in other nations' internal affairs. The Progressives support the Royals calls for war, but are against the introduction of tariffs or barring immigration to migrants seeking refuge. They further remind the assemblage that the Venurian nation was indeed founded by refugees and immigrants from Aaron and Dacicia, with a Casanese queen, and that a large number of these refugees were themselves communists, anarchists, or both. The Royalist response, of course, was to point out that those same immigrants declared the Corelands an independent nation and seceded from the Republic, retorted to in kind by the Republicans and Prosperiots pointing out that the Corelands were merely resisting the Banzhuts that had ruled with an iron fist. And finally, and perhaps most interestingly, the communist Republicans sing the praises of the revolutionaries, and seek the establishment of trade relations post-haste. They support completely open borders, though do support tariffs to protect the local workers of Venuria and keep them employed. Some of the more authoritarian members of the Republicans express dismay at the anarchist elements of the nation, but as most of the membership had previously served in anti-fascist movements such as the Voykhoy Ggalmso and Dajchrekht against the totalitarian Banzhut regime, they are in the minority, and ultimately, even these members still support the revolutionary worker's movement. Among the minor parties, the Queen's Party and Patriot Party both express a desire for immediate military intervention. However, this too is divided, with the Patriots seeking to bring the territories in as new states within the republic, while the Queensians simply seek a return to the status quo. Both likewise support harsh sanctions against the communists, going even further than the Royals, and wish to stop ALL imports from them at once, as well as a harsh, shoot-on-sight border policy. President Syv Rrayss, of course, being a communist and former revolutionary herself, neglects to make a statement on the matter. Meanwhile, just as the Senate is divided, so too is the populace, with a large crowd of protestors gathering outside the Senate building and voicing vocal support for ancoms, many wearing Voykhoy Ggalmso colours and flying Voykhoy Ggalmso, Daychrekht, ancom, or general communist flags. The capital, of course, was particularly hard-hit by the Banzhuts, so harbours a particularly high population of communists. However, it is not unique to the capital, as similar protests take place on planets throughout the nation, especially on the poorer planets erimward. The protestors sing a variety of communistic songs in an act of solidarity with their Imperium brethren, including old Earth relics such as Solidarity Forever and the Internationale, though no one is quite sure how they found such ancient songs, let alone where they got their hands on translations. These protests do not go unnoticed, though, with many right-wing groups coalitioning to counter-protest, joined even by many center-left Prosperiots, in opposition. The streets swell, and police struggle to maintain a thin blue line and keep the two groups away from one another. On a few planets with particularly underfunded or undertrained officers, the protests lead to violence, but for the most part, order is maintained, albeit shakily. The Queen, particularly nervous by hordes of upset anti-royalists that want nothing more than to topple the monarchy and aristocracy being en masse in the streets, bides her time in Khaos and waits for things to settle down to make a statement officially denouncing the movement and ending the legislative deadlock. In such instances, it is best to wait for things to diffuse before doing anything, after all. In the meantime, she seeks assistance from Khaos Invaders and The east pacific islands in case things get too revolutionary. She somehow doubts the protesters will listen to a monarch lecturing them about how she grew up in a communist nation and how it wasn't all that great and sorta dystopian. |
Chairmen Reed is absolutely delighted by this news and makes due haste to start preparing to make way to Anzio as soon as the The Federation agrees to it as well. He does however ask that an equal number of representatives for the Anarchist and Social democrats from the Anzio Government be mandated to talks. The Syndicate Government restates it’s ideological belief that control derives from a mandate from the masses, nothing more. It also invites The Venurian government, preferably a member of EACH party, to the Anzio Conference. Denerim Ka’Shall, a radical tau (tau who fought with the revolution and dismantled the caste system like Farsight) member of the Syndicate’s Federation (the main body for political action for the entire region but acts more as a forum for stating the needs of syndicates and has no legislative authority) stated the following, “The Venurians have ‘no dog in this fight’, I believe that is the old Terran saying, but this conference has the potential to secure the workers’ rights all over the galaxy and secure liberty for all.” Chairmen also made a similar statement. (Also im really really sorry i didnt respond to this) Dunn looks quite bemused, he turns to the person next to him "what in the hell does bourgeoisie mean?", and takes a peek at Pharan whose attempting to question the hooded individual The group of soldiers talking to the Anzian militiamen look quite concerned, one asking "Bloodline Mark, is that something significiant?" |
In other news: The permanently settled Serdian refugees in their autonomous colonies have been allowed to establish a flag to represent themselves within the Commonwealth, the flag combines the Serdian flag with the Arvugian flag, with the Arvugian flag being the predominant part to represent their existence within the Commonwealth, with the inclusion of Serdian elements in order to ensure their ethnic representation. The government has been stressing that they would be equal members of the nation with Federal efforts to preserve their culture, such as transferring all recovered Serdian cultural artifacts to the Serdian autonomous colonies, guarantee of legislative autonomy, grants from the Office of Planetary Development to allow them to establish themselves, as well as Serdian being the primary language at the schools within the autonomous colonies albeit with Arvugian as a secondary language. The Aaronian warships find themselves unable to enter the newly liberated Serdian territory, a large series of overlapping Serdian Interdiction fields (The aformentioned Asteroid Bases house and defend these) near and around the Neo-Austrian border keeping Aaronian warships from warping in or Jumping out. The Serdian Navy thanks the DRA for helping liberate the territory, Naval mop-up operations clearing out Aaronian stragglers from the region. (I expect a Very negative response to this.) Part three With the diminution of the High Council, and the unionists top officers killed off by the ministry of information, Aldrik is able to assume command over the unionists military assets. He is well aware that Queen Rhaenerys, in her blind rage, wants to burn Tyria, and her fleets are currently transiting through Raeltavian space, making their way to the Tyrian system. From the Nargon system, the system north of the Tyrian system, the unionist Kovumee's send the 4th fleet of Sovenai to siege out the Raeltavian controlled Valyon system, west of Morr. Once the defences have been dealt with, a transport fleeting carrying the 3rd Systems Army of Sovenai will jump into the system, and land their forces in key areas, such as military installations, and of course, the planetary capital. The Raeltavians make a strike of their own, sending the 3rd fleet of Arivatoria to the Nargon system. Although, because Nargon is within the Tyrian sphere, due to it being within jump radius to Tyria, it has added defences. All while this is happening, Valnaryen forces have been purposely avoiding these areas. "My queen, we took and secured the system with ease. Shall I bring in the transport fleet to land the armies? We have already identified several key points that, if we take them, the planet will fall. The big one being the High Council district. With the governmental district under our control, it won't be long before the people submit. Secondary target should be the grand cathedral. The Faith have allied with the unionists. We can expect them to defend Tyria." "Oh, admiral.", she says with a juicy smile. "We're not taking this rotten cesspool. We're burning it to the ground." "B-but, Tyria is home to billions of people!" the admiral quickly interjects. "You can't be serious. That's genocide against our own people. Surely it's more advantageous to control the capital?" "I'm not hearing it, admiral. I can guarantee the zealots of the Faith won't hesitate to glass Arretoria or Korinthias. Those b#stards down there wrongly executed my husband, your lord! The people cheered as his head rolled off his lifeless body!" she begins digging her nails into her chair. "I couldn't give a flying sh#t about their lives! Their lives are forfeit! Now, do as I command and begin charging those excavation cannons, or I'll find a drone who will!" The admiral is obviously conflicted. He's having rebellious thoughts, although, he for some reason remains loyal to her, and does as she commands. Not to mention that the crew is indirectly being held hostage by her royal guard. With an incomprehensible amount of guilt weighing on his shoulders, he gives the order to fire. Khaos Invaders, Vukmire, Great serdia, and Emden-orion |
The Szczęśliwa Księżniczka of Khaos Invaders Centre of Mass, Nowa Ziemia, Nowy Oddech "Greetings citizens of the Khaos Empire, we, the government of this great nation, hear you. We hear your pleas for owning our factories, your pleas to find work, and your pleas of a true democracy. Now, I, as the Empress, must inform you protesting youths that the Empire is fair and just, as seen that you are but a minority with the majority of your peers staying home enjoying the luxuries that the nation offers. We, the state, own the means of production because, we, the state, give you a living allowance to spend as you see fit, we, the state, give everyone basic free housing, and we, the state, give you local democratic autonomy. As such, your protests will bare no fruit as everything you want is already given, if you continue this nonsense we, the state, will no longer tolerate your law breaking and will be forced to arrest you. For the followers of the leaders of this movement, a warning, most of you are but mere puppets being used to force a new, totalitarian regime into the place I occupy, doing such will destabilize this great nation and bring great suffering. That is all." With the Empress finished, the huge crowd boos and hisses as she steps off stage, and off camera for many. The enraged youth begin a riot, smashing in windows and looting shops. The Empire's hand is forced and riot police march into the half million strong horde, firing stun grenades and paralysis gas canisters. The grinding forces push against one another over the course of a few days, tens of thousands of youth fleeing, with tens of thousands more being arrested on mass. Eleanor is pleased with this result, until the fateful moment that the now dwindling anarchists and communists hardliners pulled out weapons, taking a stand for their belief and gunning down several officers. At this, Eleanor was filled with delight and went to her office in her great manor, seating herself at her desk and facing a small camera crew, she begins her address to the public. "With a heavy heart, I wish the families of the fallen officers good health and strong memories of their loved ones. Let us honour these fallen peace keepers." She pauses for a minute, bowing her head in peace, before continuing. "Those who have fallen only wished to prevent such action, and gladly gave their lives so that no innocents would be hurt. Their deaths have revealed the true nature of these protesters as violent hard liners, proving my point days prior that these people only wanted to gain power to subjugate our great nation. This is a national emergency to the highest degree, thousands of homegrown terrorists now have a cause to fight us, that cause, Anarchy and Communism. I hereby decree that the Empire is now at war with this violent and radical ideological force that uses the desires of the people to empower the few. We will not let ourselves be pushed about by sort sighted fools, we will not let the deaths of our countrymen go in vain!" Eleanor stands up, the camera panning up to follow her. "We will rise beyond the rest, and set their skies ablaze!" She bellows, saluting at the camera and snapping to attention. With that, it cuts to black as several thousand professional soldiers fly over from Khaos Keep, a fortress island near the capital city, and begin an extermination operation of these rebellious fools. Later that night, Eleanor in her study would be reading over the bloodbath that took place in the city, few civilians were killed, few soldiers were killed, but the protesters were eliminated to their last man, not a single one, save for the ones not in the capital that night. "Ayoui, did you feel the screams? Their minds crying out in horror of the action they forced upon themselves? The ones who realized how foolish they were in their last seconds?" Eleanor asks her wife, sighing in glee. "It was beautiful, and the public, the poor public, they're horrified, but yet understanding... These fools gave us lasting stability for as long as I rain Empress." Eleanor throws her head back, laughing madly as those arrested earlier begin a long, arduous journey to work camps on dead worlds. |

The Arvugian Foreign Office issues an official travel advisory warning to the Khaos Empire following the recent events of political violence. All Arvugian citizens travelling to Khaos must stay mindful to keep away from dangerous areas or gatherings, obey local laws, and be prepared to travel out of Khaos or reach the safety of the embassy on the capital or consulates on other planets. Ayoui, nodding her head in agreement, lets out her own cackle, "If there's one thing I've learnt to despise since becoming a monarch, it's extremists. Fascists, communists, liberals... Or anarchists, especially. It hardly matters which, they're all out to get any reigning monarch unless kept on a short leash. The only ones you can trust are the conservatives, and I don't even like their policies... Gotta crack down hard on traitors like this, though. The only mercy they should get is the right to a quick death, and they deserve far less. You don't need to be a merciful or kind leader to be a good leader, and you most certainly don't need to be a pushover. Rule with an open palm, but act with a clenched fist." She sighs whistfully, wearing a big, evil grin on her face, "Ironic coming from a former revolutionary, I know. But that's the thing! If you're too forgiving, you end up with someone like me coming around and taking advantage of it! You're certainly among the best of the leaders I've seen at understanding that, and I respect that. No tolerance for treason." "Oh, but be sure to send some of them to the HKU, or better yet to my people, for interrogation. If a few of them 'crack' and reveal a few 'co-conspirators', maybe even some in government positions or who are outspoken critics... Well, those people can't just be allowed to walk free when they're linked to such a dangerous group, now can they? If it's my guys with their hands on them, not even the HKU's agents are safe~" Khaos Invaders and Great serdia |
A New Order It is the morning of the Queen's birthday, and the streets of the great Aredan metropolis are deserted. Not a vehicle is on the roads during what, normally, would be peak morning traffic hours. Not even a biker or pedestrian roves the streets. However, this eerie silence merely masks a large crowd formed on the city riverfront, deep in the heart of the government district. The crowd, composed primarily of Havah in masks and loose-fitting casual clothing, along with a few in what appear to be bulletproof vests or basic body armour, are armed with a variety of weapons, primarily chemical-propelled ballistic rifles and sidearms of information age design mixed in with a mixture of more advanced laser pistols and coilguns and improvised clubs or incendiary devices. Among them, a few hoist flags featuring a white banner with a red flame; an enduring symbol of democracy within Venuria. Others hoist flags of various former planetary nationalities, and some fly the national colours. The whole lot moves in unison, however, through the wide streets and parks and alleyways, a tidal wave of dissent. Soon, the group approaches the gates of a great, well-kempt and fenced yard, with the ducal manor dominating the scene from atop a shallow, artificial hill. Two armoured ducal guards, one venur and one mnangi from the looks, order the group to stop at once, raising their weapons on the assemblage. The mass grinds to a halt, save for a cadre of fully-geared riot police cross through to the front of the crowd, riot shields in hand and raised toward the guards. Behind them, a group of officers armed with rifles. From somewhere in the crowd, a firearm discharges, the bullet pinging harmlessly off the venur guard's armour and riccocheting into the ground. The guards return fire with automatic laser weaponry, much of which is stopped by the riot shields. Nevertheless, a number of the crowd go down, but the crowd does not disperse, and the guards are soon engulfed in molotovs and a hail of gunfire. After a good battering, they drop, and the crowd rigs the gates with breaching charges, before bursting through and into the Duke's yard, their fear of being shot overshadowed by their group mentality-derived bravado. Now, the crowd begins chanting 'democracy or death, down with dukes' as the entire compound is engulfed in gunfire. ------ After a relatively quick, yet bloody, confrontation, all the Duke's guards lay dead as the palace goes up in flames. Unfortunately, the Duke had fled the planet with his family during the fighting, yet the people of Areda's largest city cheer as their pre-annexation democratic way of life is restored. Immediately thereafter, they dispatch word to Voykyk requesting support against the Duke's levy, currently holding the planet under blockade. On many other planets throughout the nation, a similar story unfolds wherever there previously had been democracy, and the flames of democracy consume the bodies of martyrs. In Voykyk itself, the Queen's Palace is looted and burnt to the ground. However, as the days progress, the government response is not exactly what the revolutionaries had hoped it would be. The navy was indeed mobilised, as requested, but they do not engage the duke's forces. Rather, they deploy marines planet-side, where they set up forward positions and surround the compound. Watching the net, rebels hear Queen Ayjue addressing the situation in a speech. She states a desire to 'take her citizens' will, presented through lawful protests, into account', yet ends her statement by decrying the recent violence. She states, in no uncertain terms, that 'the Venurian state will not negotiate with terrorist elements'. She demands the revolutionaries surrender immediately and vacate the private property they are illegally occupying within the hour, or be met with the full force of the law and 'punished for rebellion against the republic'. The announcement fills the revolutionaries with a sense of absolute dread, and a few leave, only to be detained by the marines outside. The remainder, seeing their capture is inevitable, decide to hold their ground. The hour comes to an end, and no more leave. In response, the marines launch tear gas over the walls... Only to be met with return fire. Soon, a second firefight breaks out at the Duke's compound, as the marines are cleared to utilise deadly force. ------ By the end of the fifth hour, the fight is over. Hundreds of revolutionaries lie dead, and many more injured and detained, while the marines have only taken 3 dead and 12 injured. As the smoke settles, the revolution is dead in its infancy. On the other worlds, similar situations go down. However, those end far more peacefully, protestors having not returned fire. The survivors are shipped to holding facilities throughout the nation, as the situation begins to return to some semblance of normalcy. Court dates are scheduled, and protestors are tried on an individual basis in front of juries of their peers in accordance to the judicial process as outlined in the Venurian constitution. Venuria is a democratic state, after all. In the end, many are sentenced of murder, assault, manslaughter, or treason, and handed harsh sentences. However, many others are handed far lighter sentences, as mere accessories and victims of crowd mentality, with some even acquitted entirely. The ringleaders are, universally, sentenced to death. In the Senate, the message of the revolutionaries is not lost. Though their methods were extreme, their gripes were genuine, and a motion to disband the aristocracy is passed through by a broad coalition of the republicans, prosperiots, progressives, and even the patriots, opposed only by the royalists and queensian. This marks the first such coalition, and the aristocracy is stripped of all powers. After intervention by the queen, the nobles are allowed to keep their titles and estates, with the caveat that their titles will end with their deaths. Those that were killed in the protests' lands are immediately given to new state governments, and all state levies, even those in service of state governments, are placed under national command going forth, with the exception of the queen's levy. The age of Venurian feudalism is over; however, any discussion into the queen's own powers are instantly shut down by royal intervention. In response to the uprisings, the defence budget recieves a large boost, and garrisons are increased on every world. ------ In the end, the event serves to shake the young republic to its core. However, its quick response and refusal to negotiate with rebel elements aids in granting the government a high degree of stability that previously would have been unobtainable, and the senseless deaths of guards and soldiers in the line of duty serves to unify the rest of the nation around a new national identity forged of tragedy. After this fiasco, clearly an attempt to mimic the coup of a few years ago, few will even think of attempting a second coup, and perhaps, a single government can maintain power for more than just a few years. Indeed, in following weeks, the mass protests by pro-communist elements die down, and with them, the counter-protests. A sense of normalcy and calm returns to Venurian streets. On Ayoui's part, she can't help but feel a sense of glee to finally be rid of the aristocracy, itself the final element of the original pirate roots of the nation, and granting her own rule a similarly much-needed boost of stability and legitimacy while simultaneously boosting her power base. This was, in many ways, probably the best birthday present she could have hoped for. It was so perfect, in fact, it's almost as if she planned it herself! She makes a mental note to give her agents a well-deserved raise. Khaos Invaders and Great serdia |
A Single small Serdian ship (a Diplomatic Variant of the Serdian Navy's underused K-1 Light Frigates) escorted by a newly built Musai Class Frigate enters Aaronian space, their purpose? A secret meeting, a meeting for negociations to try and end to the war. The Frigate and Diplomatic ship (S.M.S. Kolberg and The S.M.S. Shady Belle Respectively) both send out signals that tell of their diplomatic purposes. ... Within Neo-Serdia, with all these fears of International communism recently stoked by the incidents within Khaos and Venuria, the Serdian Government decided to NOT act upon the Paranoia of any supposed Communist threat as most Serdians of the Left-Wing/Right-Wing radicalist variety are partisans in occupied colonies currently being fought over, the True fear the Serdian Government holds would be that of a "5th Column" within the nation, one acting to bring Serdia down and allow it to fall under the heel of the Aaronian Empire, with this noted, various investigations are launched to those who seem suspiciously sympathetic to Aaron, or those whose allegiences maybe questionable. Pharan: It means ruling class. It’s the people which, in Marxian thought, hold the ownership of the means of production, the means to make goods. Business owners. As he wants it as chaotic as possible, he orders the reinforcements to warp in on top of the separatist fleet. "A-admiral! a separatist crewman calls out. "Unionist reinforcements! Everywhere!" "Abort glassing operation he screams into the fleet comms! Prepare for assault!" The battle would rage on for hours. The unionists have the bigger ship advantage. Eventually, Tysus' supercarrier would destroyed, along with the majority of his fleet. The 2nd fleet of Aeros is also completely destroyed, and 1st fleet has sustained heavy casualties. Rhaenerys manages to narrowly escape, her supercarrier heavily damaged. The glassing of Tyria begins to sow hatred into the unionists. The glassing of Tyria will not be the last. |

Feeling rather insulted by the lady for lambasting him for not knowing foreign concepts, Dunn mutters to himself "sheesh, not as if my ancestors lost all trace of human history prior to settlement in The Lost Expanse or anything....." as he rubs the back of his head standing akwardly, he turns to Pharan "How do you think we should proceed from here?". Dunn takes a mental note of Pharan's particular knowledge of this ideology. Outside the soldiers look around having an (admittedly nervous) laugh "Vampires? Really?, arent those the blood suckers from those Serdian and Federation films?" one questions. -------------------------------------------------------- On his transport to Anzio, the First Councillor at a stop is able to watch a video replay of the speech by the Chairman, an aide turns to him "Sir, will this impact the talks?" Bishop pours a shot of Valdonian Vodka before pouring one for the aide "Not really, of course i'll raise the appropiate question at the talks but unless the Outer-Rim Liason Office uncovers solid evidence that the Combined Syndicates is involved in financing, supplying, or sending 'volunteers' for the export of their 'revolution', i don't expect it to negatively impact the talks too much, of course the situation in Khaos, once the overlord of the former Imperium, is whats going to complicate things...." "How so? Sir" "Well i'm hoping our foreign policy towards the Syndicates could be one of encouraging their cooperation and diplomatic engagement with the democracies of the galaxy, which would of course peacefully resolve our conflicting interests and remove a security issue at Frontier, however the massacre in Khaos will likely make the leaders of the Syndicates feel isolated and backed into a corner, meaning we'll have to ensure that we dont give the Syndicates the incorrect impression that we're preying on them, We'll also have to take great care in communicating the Commonwealths objectives for the conference to our Federation counterparts, as they likely see the issue of the Syndicates in a different light considering their own history with socialist groups and the fact that they are more heavily invested in Anzio than we are......" he takes a breath "Why aren't you sending those messages back that i wanted you to send" "My Apologies Sir, il get to it right away!" the Aide stammers out. Bishop raises his voice "Come back with Coffee!" he calls out. Great Red Bears, Khaos Invaders, and The imperium of women |
