So here’s my genuine answer: of course I wasn’t, but I had already met you people and knew who I was voting for; younger nations just joining though may be a different story.
For instance, when I first came to TSP, I voted Tsunami for delegate only because he sent me a telegram. I didn’t even know who Erinor was or what any of them believed or what it meant, I just wanted to vote for something. Edit: also...Double post! #MakeitLegal

I was seriously asking... so thanks for the serious response. Yeah I can see how that could sway noobs. For any gameside poll you can filter by influence level of voters and see if made any difference. Did that candidate attract a higher proportion of low or no influence nations? You could look back in the poll history to check.
OMG sorry!

TSP reveals plan for next constitutional crisis
With almost two years having passed since TSP’s last constitutional crisis, The Coalition has revealed its intent to organise a new one that will be ‘bigger and better’ than any before. The Southern Onion has spoken to Prime Minister Roavin about his plans for the event.
“TSP has a long history of being wildly unstable,” remarks Roavin, from behind his gold-plated desk in the Prime Minister’s office. “I unfortunately missed the last crisis, but joined just in time for the subsequent Great Council, which really whetted my appetite for future drama. I’d now like to usher in what will hopefully be the greatest GCR crisis in NS history.”
While many of the details are being kept a secret, an excited Roavin is keen to tell me some of the planned features he’s most proud of.
“This isn’t just going to be a simple kerfuffle with just two factions involved; we’re planning for four or five, all vying for control of the region. There will be confusion, betrayals, ragequits: all the usual fun, but this time it will be taken to the next level.”
Roavin explains to me that he plans to use January’s Delegate election to kick things off, with rumours of ‘election fraud’ and ‘outside influence’, but the ‘real fun’ will begin in February, when the cabinet elections will ‘descend into chaos’.
“There will be anger and fireballs and hatred!” An increasingly animated Roavin proclaims, “We will have a new Delegate each day! The CRS will be split across the different factions! Half our nations at least will be taking a trip to TRR!”
But the part that excites the Prime Minister the most is the Great Council that will follow. “Any TSPer will tell just how much I love Great Councils. I’d have them every month if I could, so I’m really looking forward to experiencing one again.”
In recent months TSP has had a controversial reputation among other regions, so Minister of Foreign Affairs Tim Stark talks us through the implications of this crisis on our relations with our allies and enemies.
“Recently many regions have expressed concern about the number of Defenders, and particularly Wardens, in TSP’s government. This crisis is a way for us to show the international community that, despite the Warden influence, this is still the same old dysfunctional, argumentative TSP that everyone knows and loves.”
Since Roavin mentioned ‘outside influence’, I press Tim about what other regions he expects to get involved in this crisis.
“Well, the claims of outside influence don’t actually have to be true; they’re just a way of stirring the pot and hopefully starting arguments. However, I anticipate that many regions will get involved, as most of our enemies rely solely on TSP’s drama for their own activity. This will bring a new dimension to the crisis, and hopefully some new recruits to The Grey Wardens too.”
An area which TSP has been criticised for in the past is how the gameside members are often excluded from events, with only those on the forums getting the full experience. I spoke to Local Councillor Drall about what his plans for the event are.
“I think it’s imperative to make sure the RMB community are at the centre of the action,” asserts Drall, carefully sipping his cup of coffee in the minimalist LC lounge. “Once I’ve ran out of insults to fire at Glen and Cormac, I’ll do my best to ensure that the RMBers receive their fair share of toxicity, accusations, and banjections. Of course, the LC will likely be dissolved by one of the rogue Delegates at some point, but I still consider it my duty to keep the RMB informed on who you currently have to bribe to avoid being dumped into TRR.”
This is very exciting news for all TSPers, and many others around NS too. With all branches of TSP’s government taking a united approach to insanity, this promises to be a crisis to remember.

No you shouldn't. I didn't either. *hugs* Just my personal opinion here, but I'm not seeing the test of loosening the RMB roleplay restrictions going all that well so far. But I would note there is still a couple-ish weeks left in the test: maybe the RMB roleplayers can pull up their socks and start wowing us with their storytelling before then? (as opposed to whatever this has been, lol) yeah the line there is when it turns from RP to basicly spam. Which admittedly is a difficult line to establish.Yes please! I have you in mine :-)
The Penguinite Kleptocracy of Volaworand , a former British colony, has a federal parliamentary representative democracy under constitutional monarchy system of government, similar to that of Commonwealth Nations of Canada, Australia or New Zealand. Our nation is a somewhat corrupted left leaning Civil Rights Lovefest/Left-Leaning College State. We are generally pacifist, but maintain defensive and peacekeeping troops. We are a capitalist, trading nation. Volaworand is a signatory to numerous bilateral and multi-lateral treaties: the full list of treaties is available here .
Volaworand is mildly engaged in the South Pacific regional roleplay. Our interactions occur primarily in the South Pacific's nation-based roleplay dedicated message board, Knowhere , but also in dispatches, on Treasure Island on the South Pacific's offsite forums (find us on plot 28) and a bit here and there on the nationstates forums.
In addition to formal treaties and embassy exchanges, our nation solidifies links with the South Pacific region and the wider world in a number of ways:
We serve as the chair of the South Pacific Regional Trade Agreement (SPaRTA) , a trade agreement to normalize the production and trade of South Pacific Iced Tea (SPIT, as it's known in the South Pacific). Contact us by telegram or tag us in the RMB if you are interested in making an application to join this trade pact.
Volaworand is home of the Kentucky Fried Penguin global fast food chain , which offers franchise locations in the South Pacific and throughout the wider world through the Kentucky Fried Penguin storefront on the Global Economics and Trade Board on the forums.
We actively exchange national animals with other nations in the South Pacific, visit the Royal National Zoological Park of Volaworand to see the hosted animals. Please send a telegram if you would like to exchange animals.
The Volaworand Newswire collects news and diplomacy dispatches from nations throughout the South Pacific, along with the occasional news of region wide interest. New nations looking to join nation-based roleplays can review the newswire to see what topics are in the South Pacific's recent news.
Volaworand's government owned transportation service Southern Transportation Corporation operates Direct International Flight connections with nations in the South Pacific , primarily those that have claimed a spot on the TSP Forums Roleplay Map or "puppet" nations.
Volaworand maintains active membership in the World Assembly and exchanges endorsements as part of the The Southern World Assembly iNitiative (SWAN) . SWAN is an initiative organized by the regional government of the South Pacific to promote the participation of nations in the World Assembly (WA) and to encourage them to endorse everyone in the South Pacific, building security and community within the South Pacific. Endorsements help build influence, which improves regional security and is used in some border control situations. We have reached the Squire rank.
Notable Diplomatic Relationships These nations in the South Pacific region have notable economic, political, military or historic relations with Volaworand.
Our Department of External Affairs bureaucrats rate these relationships on a semantic gradient: Steamy | Cozy | Balmy | Tepid | Chilly | Frosty | Frigid

For roleplay purposes we assume that every nation in the South Pacific exchanges ambassadors, and has at least a diplomatic officer in each other's nations. Over time as nations develop friendship these arrangements become deeper and result in the establishment of more formal relations and the opening of larger Consular Offices, Trade Offices and Embassies. If you would like to exchange consular offices, please send a telegram to open negotiations. We prefer to document these exchanges with a bilateral treaties, but it is not always needed.
Other Foreign Relations The following is a list of other foreign relations of Volaworand. These are nations we are interested in, and so we keep an eye on them.
