The Commonwealth, having spent millions of Kurks on ICBM research, trying to keep up with the rest of the world in terms of technology, had finally made the IR-2, their first ICBM, which had a 8-20 megaton warhead, with this first version having a 20 megaton one. But, they wanted to test it first. The Commonwealth had some major fighting on where to test, but eventually decided to knock out two birds with one stone. They would use the nuke on Black Phoenix, to finally get them out of Kurzakstan for good.

For Elena.

March 12th, 1972
The nuke’s countdown begins. As the timer reaches 0, the missile’s cold launch system kicks in, propelling the missile into the air, before it’s thrusters activate, launching the ICBM into the air, headed towards the HQ of Black Phoenix operations in Kurzakstan. As the nuke arrives, nuclear sirens go off across the Black Phoenix HQ, but its already too late, as the nuke smashes into the ground.

There is a sudden flash of light. A massive mushroom cloud 28 miles high rises over the area, over several mountains, as the shockwave rocks the ground over 17 miles away from the blast, completely wiping out most of Black Phoenix. Within the next week, the survivors would be evacuated to be taken care of back at Verdantia, resulting in the test being a major success.

Kurzakstan now has ICBM’s! All IR-1’s are set to be rebuilt into IR-2’s.
