News KNN military surge Prime Minister Martinez Gomez and President Marcus Sicoff have announced that there will be more spending on defense and publicly declaring that they will dedicate 2% of GDP to defense, increasing the manufacture of military equipment such as light and medium tanks, helicopters, airplanes. , weapons, ships, ect. It is also thought that Khaledonia will start buying military products from the Union of Ameriga. |
FENN News: edition 2 Mar 2075 Pylon Fire Update ChipCo Electric has shut down power to the East Sector of Halloway as the fire races to the city limit. Air Quality Alerts are in effect. The wind has switched direction and is blowing now in a Southwest direction at 35 to 40 mph, a very unpleasant situation for fire crews as they are trying to contain the fire. Only 1% of the fires is contained, but there are calls to reverse that as strong winds are blowing the fire out of control. The National Guard is coming in to help contain the fire tomorrow, but the Empress thinks we should resort to international help. (Xemptoworth): It is clear that we are in a dire situation. Blustery conditions are expected to continue making it nearly impossible to contain the fire. We need international help... Parliament is set to speak about this urgently. The meeting is in a few hours. Parliament will decide whether or not to declare a State of Emergency and if the Empire needs International help for a fire that spread nearly 2600 more acres in the last 10 hours. More heat waves are expected this month, but relief can be coming in the form of a small tropical system, but it's too early to say. Franconian Red Shield has set up trauma centers in case of severe injury from the fire. They also put up cots for people displaced from their home. These centers are open in Exposition Town and Westville. Early Voting Parliamentary Elections are looking great for the Commoners Party. So far, early voting shows that they will win at least 40 seats out of 91, a new record for a party founded 5 years ago. What is causing the shift from LFP to Commoners? Political analysts say it is the policies their candidates want to bring to the floor: like rooftop greenspaces on top of buildings that are 10 stories or lower, or the elimination of winding suburb roads and adding convenience to busy everyday Franconians by allowing only a 5 to 10 minute walking commute from work to home to shops. You know how the FE is banning gasoline vehicles by 2090? That was their idea as well. LFP seats are falling behind from last round of early voting in 2073, when Xemptoworth was at her peak in popularity. Party for the People is having trouble picking up even 10 seats for all the stunts they pulled in the last couple of years as the CFP (Conservative Franconians Party). Early voting shows that only 4 of their expected 10 will win, but it's too early to call anything at the moment. Be sure to vote on 15 March for your next representatives in Parliament. Lower Approval Ratings Empress Xemptoworth has had a rough few years in office. The CFP cause a Naval Ship to detonate by having 14 MPs collaborate with a Domestic Extremist group, whomst the FEBI caught urgently. Her approval tanked at how she handled the Cobran Sector issue. It went from 68% on re-election to now just 41%, a whole 27% drop from 15 March 2072. Political divide amongst the LFP has helped decrease the number as well, with her taking more advice from the Commoners Party and leaving the LFP feel left out. Breaking After a heated discussion, Parliament has decided to declare a State of Emergency and ask for international assistance with putting out fires. (Xemptoworth): "These fires are not just a threat to us, but a threat to Vesta. We live in the largest rainforest there is by area. It's burning from the lengthy heat waves we have had. Politicians for the last 25 to 30 years have had their heads up their hind quarters to not notice the climate change catastrophe they helped create. In fact, we noticed it in 2040 and shoved it to the back burner because it "wasn't bad yet". Well it is bad now! If we don't do anything about these dry spells and updating pylons now, there won't be trees for our children to see. They won't know that the color of the sky is blue, or that the Franconian Widow spider helped make the clothes they wear, or even how an organic mango tastes from the largest mango farm in the FE. These trees need to be here for not just the beauty of the Empire, but the livelihood of everyone. St. Augusta National Park is on the verge of being the next location to be set on fire. We need help, and climate action needs to be done ASAP." The Empress is now asking for people to evacuate Halloway and surrounding areas. The fire caused by the heated pylon is now only 50 miles from the Halloway city limits. Thick smoke can be seen from Overview Station in satellite images. Parliament is also now focused on trying to end gasoline vehicle sales by 2080 instead of 2090 to reduce environmental impact and since there is a surplus of EVs the FE is producing, it could be achievable. The Minister of Environmental Protection, Jarvis Donwitter, has said that they will start asking for manufacturers of Electric Vehicles to produce an "environmental impact statement", or a way of showing proof that the EV is the best for the environment. Standards will be debated on by Parliament in the next week. It is clear there is an enviro disaster waiting to be declared. Mydic Chronicle Following the declaration of emergency in the FE, the Synedrio (congress) debated a measure introduced by Archon Galanis to make the Imperial Fire Response Team (IFRT) available to assist and support the Empire’s ally and neighbor in their time of need. The IFRT is the Empire’s elite fire response unit capable of swift deployment and trained in wilderness blaze fighting. The IFRT comprises of 6 units each number 500 individual firefights. Transport vehicles, various fight fighting and heavy machinery vehicles as well as helicopters, tanker aircraft and a command airship. The Empire will offer three units and their accompanying supplies to the FE to help with their fires. Mydia is a nation not unfamiliar with wildfires and as such has spent decades working to mitigate their effects as well as a migration away from nationally designated “fire zones” in the 2050s. In recent years increased rain and the greening of some of the arid land has led to a noticeable decrease in wild fires. |
Breaking Hello, Neighbor Following the Empress' Emergency Declaration, one of the FE's closest allies is sending 3 fire response crews, alongside helicopters and other fire fighting technology. Mydic's own IFRT will be here to help fight these fires. Blustery conditions are still under way and will make it very difficult to put out the flames. Franconian and Mydic crews are going to try to drop environmentally friendly fire retardants to slow the spread and reduce the intensity later on when Mydic crews are assembled in the Empire. The fire is burning quite heavily and has crossed St. Augusta National Park's Parklines. Halloway Fire The town of Halloway has been caught on fire! The town of Halloway has been caught on fire. Halloway mayor, Juulie Raknovok, is pleading for Mydic crews to help us in this time. One of the largest cities in the Empire is now burning and it has not updated fire codes since the mid 2000s. The first building that caught aflame was the Grand Marshal Building, a 3 floor building that houses legal papers for the city of Halloway. The wind is out of hand, causing the fire to spread. Emergency crews from the FE are putting out some of the fires in Halloway, but not all of them can be put out. The Empress and the Minister of Safety have both advised Halloway to shut off power and natural gas lines until the fire is 100% contained or at least 95% contained. These are dyer moments that we need handle together. Nobody is to get in the way of the fire as it is a danger to public safety. Anyone caught will be immediately escorted out of the fire zone. No fines are implemented. |
NEWS KNN evacuation aid Due to the situation in the FE, the Government of Khaledonia has decided to send 4 rescue helicopters and medical aid, a team of volunteer firefighters has also been sent to help people in the evacuation, medical aid has also been sent to treat the wounds of the wounded, the Government of Khaledonia is willing to send economic aid to the FE, although the FE and the Federal Republic of Khaledonia are very different, it should not be denied that in these situations you have to help as much as possible. |
Breaking The Halloway Fire has burnt down the oldest building in the Northern Empire. The building was a church that stood there for 215 years and still ran church services before the fire. It was finished being built in 1860 and served as one of the biggest churches in the FE. A historic building lost today for sure. More Breaking In a surprising act of kindness Khaledonian Fire Crews have been deployed to the FE. The economic neighbor also asked if we need economic assistance. The Empress politely denied but did accept the fire crews for help. In a team effort to stop the biggest rainforest on Vesta from burning to the ground, along with one national park and one of the FE's most popular tourist destinations, the Gov is racing to get the climate change catastrophe under control. A slew of new legislation has been introduced but cannot be voted on until Parliament resumes in 12 days when newly elected MP's can take place of their predecessor. The call for action is now, but the Government can't act now leaving people left in the dark on when to declare Climate Emergency. It is clear the rainforest needs added protection leading the people to claim that the VA should talk about climate regulations soon so Climate Emergency can be declared once and for all. Breaking The Halloway Fire is being put out as we speak. Mydic, Khaledonian, and Franconian Fire crews are being hit with a surprise dose of rain. An unexpected monsoon has come to the Empire and is drenching the fire and giving some heat relief to those desperate for a drop of rain. The current doplar radar shows pop up storms continuing to just show up randomly until around Wednesday or Thursday. By Wednesday or Thursday, a late season hurricane might show up and give some relief to the fire. It is called Hurricane LeAnn and will be a Category One by landfall. Breaking Tomorrow, over 80 seats are being filled with new MPs, which could strike in a new era for the FE Parliament. An expected Commoners Party majority would be a historic event. Since its founding, the Commoners Party has made its way to the national forefront in only 5 years and 1 election. Over 25 policies they have created has almost full backing by Parliament. What will a Commoners Parliament look like? What will they pass? Only time will tell. Halloway Fire The Halloway Fire has been contained by 30%. Fire crews should expect more rain this evening to help all 3 National Fire Crews with the massive fire. Not much rain is expected though, but some clouds and humidity will also help keep temperatures down and the fire from creeping into any more national parks or other tourist destinations. 12% of the City of Halloway is on fire, but cannot continue to burn the city as the fire cannot jump the river. Mydic, Khaledonian, and Franconian Fire crews are working strategically to extinguish the flames. So far, a striking 229.1 Million Astrons worth of property damages has been reported. Breaking After the continuation of Parliament, it is clear that the new majority is here to be serious. Already, Climate Emergency is being discussed, EV safety requirements and environmental standards have been discussed, and increased fire crew spending has been discussed. Majority Leader of the Commoners Party has said that he is surprised by how much the Empire has shifted politically. Wayne Cage-Casey believes that with 74 brand new MPs, Parliament will run smoother and beat more in tune with the people. New topics are going to be brought up next session about whether or not to see the new tech boom as a way of companies trying to be a monopoly. Current laws in the FE say that companies cannot take over the market. Any business that tries to subsidize the market can be asked to close shop permanently by law. ChipCo Electric already being accused of doing so with the mass production and surplus if solar panels. Breaking The Commoners Party heard rumors going around that Khaledonia could have a new political party on their hands. The Peoples Party in Khaledonia line up with Franconia's Socially-Democratic values leaving a new excitement for possibly furthering Khaledonian-Franconian relationships and possibly developing an alliance if "things go well" as San Juarez says. Parliament opened today with a round of applause for the Peoples Party of Khaledonia, with only 13 out of the 91 MPs refusing to applaud, all of them being from the PFP here in the Empire. The Empress, excited how the next leader might improve relationships with our neighbor, also commends the new party. In Other News A tropical storm is on its way to The New East this week. It might be a Category 3 by the time it hits shore. It was forecasted that Tropical Storm LeAnn would hit from the south, but the San Juarez Hurrican Model forecast hit it right on the money. Warm water across the Valentian Ocean from the summer heat have been making it very likely for storms to develop and pave their way west to the FE. Dry air on both sides are making it like a yellow brick road. The Hurricane is Dorothy and the FE is the land of Oz. LeAnn, once it makes landfall, will weaken and make their way across to the Central Empire later this weekend as a Category One, possibly even extinguishing the Halloway Fire in Northern Franconian State. Emergency crews are watching the hurricane's path and are praying that flooding won't be too bad. Mydic, Khaledonian, and Franconian Fire crews are on high alert for any flooding that will happen. Humidity in the air from rain just to the East is helping slow the fires down. The wind also not much of an issue. Forecasted gusts in Halloway will be 15 MPH maximum, much less of a problem from earlier in the week. NEWS KNN entrance to parliament The popularity of the People's Party is increasing and they have entered parliament, some say that if they come to government power they will leave the commonwealth which would cause the influence of the Union of Ameriga to disappear while others say that if they come to power apart from bring a new democracy and possibly a change in the flag it is also believed that maybe if when Xiomara comes to power she can leave the commonwealth and join the VA. It has been confirmed that Xiomara is running for President of the Republic, this is causing some problems in the National Party. |
Breaking Heavy rain showed up today as the feeder bands of Hurricane LeAnn showed up to The New East. Rain coming off of the hurricane is heading east very rapidly. Hurricane LeAnn is only a Category 2 storm and will weaken as it goes further inland. It will reach the area of the Halloway Fire by tomorrow and drench the fires with heavy rain. Clouds have been spotted above the smoke in Halloway and rain will begin tonight. Khaledonian, Mydic, and Franconian Fire crews have been relocated to a safe area to ride out the storm, which should disappear in a couple of days. Sartorian News Network Foreign Minister Maurizio Croce appeared today before the House of Councillors to answer questions on recent developments in his portfolio. Mr Croce confirmed that discussions are underway within the Valentian Alliance to provide any necessary assistance to Franconia as it faces climate-related disasters and stated that the Sartorian Embassy in Franconia has kept track of Sartorians living or otherwise staying in Franconia to ensure their wellbeing. Mr Croce also dismissed the possibility that Khaledonia might join the VA in the near future, stating that the alliance has a robust accession process and that he does not foresee Khaledonia meeting all the requirements for membership at this time, though he also stated that the Sartorian Government has "every willingness to engage with countries who desire to start on the path towards full democratisation". New Haven Gazette Privately it’s being seen as a bit of a stab in the back for Khaledonia to even consider not only leaving the Commonwealth but joining the Valentian Alliance. True disappointment was said to be ringing out through the halls of Congress. The move by Franconia to widen its economic involvement in Khaledonia was initially well met by members of the ruling government though some raised questions whether or not Khaledonia would be a reliable partner long term. Unfortunately that has proved to be even more of a question following hints that it could withdraw from the Commonwealth. Regardless of the ongoing situation, the Department of Commerce and International Trade has been directed to engage with the Khaledonian government about making available the possibility of increased investment in the manufacturing sector with new factories and the possibility of Atlas Industries considering Khaledonia for a $30 billion semiconductor manufacturing plant. News KNN Voting NOW People demand democracy, they are starting a series of large-scale peaceful marches throughout the country demanding that new voting take place NOW, Anti-riot teams have been deployed nationwide, candidate Xiomara Castro explained that she promises large-scale improvement of the country, Xiomara also explained that she will not leave the commonwealth but will try to have economic relations or a diplomatic relationship at least friendly with the rest of the countries, President Marcus and Prime Minister Gomez have not said anything yet. |

New Haven Gazette Valentian Review The fleet assembled at Columbia city over the last few weeks as the First and Third fleets returned from their respective deployments to the South Valentian and Eastern Strait respectively. With the announcement came the event at the docks where President Prescott delivered a fiery speech speaking about the integrity of the Union and how the Republic was indivisible. She alluded to a fight and a struggle ahead without giving who it would be against. There had been a stiff shift in rhetoric from the Union against the VA in recent weeks as the new Congress was sworn in and lurched hard to the right. Even President Prescott was forced into a situation of shifting rightward or risk being unable to pass her legislation through Congress. There was a political need to acquiesce to the right’s demand to be harsher on the VA and by extension nations seen drifting into their sphere of influence. |

The Empress has announced that she is speaking about the purpose of the recent trade agreement with Khaledonia and where she sees Khaledonia's future with the VA. at any moment the Empress will be coming out on the Overreach Balcony, where Emperor Lars did his inaugural speech. We have live image of the Empress now... (Xemptoworth): Good afternoon. My fellow Franconians, citizens of VA nations, and citizens and leaders abroad. It has come to my attention that the recent economic relations between Khaledonia and the FE has some a bit upset. And that is okay, but I'm explaining why we made the agreement. Prime Minister Gomez, at 2150 hours messaged the desk of our Trade Minister asking if we can trade our technology surplus for fruit, medical supplies, and grain. The Empire accepted the offer, not only to expand both economies, but to show to the world the FE is willing to give Khaledonia a small boost, and for them to know that they have a friendly neighbor if they ever need anything. Their shift in political ideology is, in no way, influenced by the Empire though. We understand we applauded their new political party, but it was to show gratitude and congratulations on their nation starting to develop after the many battles they've gone through internally. Some are worried here in the FE if Khaledonia will be a good partner for trade. As we said before, if anything goes awry the FE has the resources to draw back from the agreement at moment's notice. Prime Minister Gomez was asked if he accepts those terms and he agreed. I understand the worry some have about whether or not the FE sees a future of a Khaledonian seat in the VA, but I can assure you that they cannot because they do not qualify to be in the VA. They are not a democracy. In recent news, Khaledonians started marching for peace and democ in Khaledonia, but the Government was quick to send riot police. Those people are doing nothing but marching for democracy. Because of that, and many others, politically Khaledonia cannot be in the VA. Many civil rights and human rights violations are implemented by law. The FE refuses to commend these actions, but can see that they are really trying to change, and we support a nation trying to change. See it as an economy booster between two nations that want to be economic allies. We're like Coworkers, we don't always see eye to eye but we're here to work and cooperate. In the end, when we clock out of our job, we go our separate ways and don't speak until the next shift. The point of this is to ease what the FE feels the tension we created. It is not our intent to create a "panic" politically, but we did what we felt like was right. If any leader wants to view otherwise, it's okay. Also, apart from gaining great support from the population, they are pressuring President Marcus and Prime Minister Gomes for elections throughout the country to have a new government, meanwhile some caretakers do not consider Xiomara to be a good leader due to his basic ideology the ideology of the senahes, for those who do not know the senahes were a terrorist and rebel group that rose up in 3 revolutions. apparently people forgot that and every time Xiomara appears people usually say HEIL XIOMARA |
