The Oatland Basketball tournament is an annual basketball tournament that is hosted by the region of Oatland.
Format The 2022 edition of the tournament was contested by 5 teams. The first stage features each team playing a run of 3 games, the four highest teams in cumulative points after these three games advance to the next stage while one team is eliminated. A team might be required to play a fourth game against a team that needs an opponent for their third game. In the second stage, each team will play each other exactly once and will be formed based on cumulative points. The third highest team will get the third place trophy, the top two teams will play for the Tournament trophy over four games.

Probably the area stretching from the peninsula south of West Phoenicia to the border with Valenstine (or a smaller claim if the suggestion above is too big of a map claim)
Good day everyone! As arranged with Hospe, the Tjorlish Football Federation is elated to announce the revival of the Oatland Invitational, Oatland's most prestigious international football tournament.
OOC: To sign-up, all is needed is to send a telegram confirming your final roster to Tjorl. Sign-ups will be open either until the end of July or when the number of entrants reach eight or sixteen. Member nations of regions that Oatland has established diplomatic ties with are also allowed to participate. In case any of you is interested how the Invitational is going to be scorinated, xkoranate 0.3.3 will be used.

We are conducting a regional study about security is structured in each Oatland Nation. but, we first want some insight on how it is structured. So, for the question of the day: How do you protect your nation when it comes to invasions, improvised attacks, and natural disasters?
Invasions Fairly difficult to invade us given we're an island nation that patrols our waters frequently and jealously. But in case an invasive force is discovered we'll just send our navy to meet the charge head on with assistance from the air force. On land, the army mobilizes to strategic areas while reserve force members are put on notice. After trying to settle things diplomatically of course.
Improvised AttacksThis one is a bit tough. Our major advantage is that the government often "suggests" media content so many hospeans are indoctrinated propagandists at a young age making internal acts of terrorism very rare. However should such an act occur, the Hospean Secret Defence department is assigned the case. The aforementioned department also maintains a list of bodies, movements and individuals that are at risk of being radicalized making the process that much easier.
Natural DisastersNot too many natural disasters in Hospe but flooding is a major issue in southern cities during the rainy season. Many drainage systems have been overhauled in the past decade but there are still some weak points. There is usually a disaster response force nearby in such areas to aid with evacuation, medical aid and palliative distribution as the case may be.
I hope all is well, this is Prime Minister elect Sheeps just checking in. I look forward to any and all interaction our regions may have during my tenure!
