Welcome to India! Looking back at the records, India was first founded in 2002 by an Unknown nation and later refounded by Nirupama in 2011. India is one of the largest real-life nations themed UCR (User created region) in the Nationstates community.

India is a centre aligned, defending region with an active population of friendly and helpful nations. The region has been under a revolutionary change that plans to make India a superpower. Join India Now and help us to stay strong. India is also one of the largest Indie Sporting regions (Indie: Regions other than the 4 big ones) and a region with an active Card Trading and World Assembly population. A lot of activity happens in the Regional Message Board and the discord server where you can get invited to various roleplaying communities run by our members.

The first thing that you do in nationstates as well as in the region is to answer the Issues. Issues are political decisions that players make, which shape their nations as a result. The Issues affect the national stats like the economy, civil rights and political freedom. A nation will receive 4-5 issues at a specific time. Issues are written by nationstates players and you can also write one here.

The second step is to block recruitment telegrams, If you visit the telegram preferences settings here you can see a block all button for recruitment. Click that and Update Filter Button and you're ready to move further.

The Third Step is to join the World Assembly (WA). Joining the World Assembly is important because it grants you the power to vote in international law through the General Assembly and preserving international peace through the Security Council. It also gives you citizenship in the region of India and the right to vote for the president. After joining WA, endorse our President/Delegate and each other. The region has a World Assembly Endorsement Program aimed at increasing WA Population. The IWAAP, as it is called has a detailed explanation on this.

The Fourth Step is to join our regional Discord Server and Forums which play a major role in the region's gameplay and roleplay activities. The Forum is where you can find our legislature, judiciary and citizenship - diplomacy applications. Join our discord to find new friends and mingle with them. Do not forget to introduce yourself in the Regional Message Board (RMB) and be active in it. The RMB is where most of 'everything' happens. You're also free to ask questions in the RMB where our members are ready to help you out.

Finally, remember that you will have to log in and answer issues once every 28 days or your nation will Cease To Exist (CTED). There is also a mode called Vacation Mode which can extend the inactivity period. On Population Growth, It takes 20 days for your population to reach 62 million, after which the population increases by 5-7 million per day.

India is controlled by the founder and its democratically elected government headed by a President and Prime Minister(WA Delegate) . The Government is elected according to the regional Constitution.

The President shall be vested with the executive power of the region, as they shall be the Founder of the region (custodian of Nirupama) and the Ministry of External Affairs.

The Cabinet consists of ministers with the following portfolios who are headed by a Prime Minister: External Affairs, Internal Affairs and Defense.

• Prime Minister: shall

  (a) be the head of government, the leader of the Cabinet and shall hold the position of the World Assembly Delegate of India.

  (b) be responsible for the overall coordination of executive activities, being a liaison between the government and the community, and protecting the Region.

  (c) responsible for overseeing a collective Cabinet agenda and may give directions and instructions to the ministers.

  (d) appoint the Ministers for the Cabinet at their discretion (with the exception of the Minister of External Affairs) from among the elected members of the Parliament & shall reserve the right to change portfolios of the members in the Cabinet; and to substitute the existing members in the Cabinet with other members of the Parliament.

  (e) at their discretion form the "Lower Cabinet" or the "Council of Deputies" with themself or the Deputy Prime Minister being its chair & other members being the deputies within the Ministries of the Cabinet. Given that, no sitting Minister shall be a part of the said grouping.

• The Minister of Internal Affairs shall be responsible for

  (a) supporting and controlling the roleplay community, WA Affairs and organizing regional cultural activities, events, and exchanges;

  (b) maintaining the citizenship register & reviewing the Citizenship Applications;

  (c) recruiting and integrating new players into the Region's government and community;

  (d) maintaining public infrastructures such as guides & archives;

  (e) overseeing the regular publication of public media, including news content, in India, and setting unified presentation standards, and providing graphics to the government and citizens of the Region.

• The Minister of External Affairs shall

  (a) be responsible for establishing the government’s foreign policy program, communicating with allies, and coordinating with the military on foreign policy priorities when necessary;

  (b) hold the sole power to initiate treaty negotiations with other regions, groups, and organizations but may designate officers to handle those negotiations.

  (c) be responsible for presenting the treaty negotiated to the Cabinet for majority approval, before submitting it to the Parliament for Ratification.

  (d) The Minister of External Affairs shall be responsible for establishing standards for the creation and maintenance of consulates and embassies.

• The Minister of Defense shall be responsible for

  (a) the defence of the Region;

  (b) building military activity & conducting military operations;

  (c) conducting intelligence operations, and coordinating them with the Cabinet Committee on Security.

The Government of India contains the above-said ministers and President and Vice President. There also exists a parliament headed by a speaker to pass legislation. The Judiciary is headed by Cheif-Justice (CJI) who is appointed by the founder.

Citizenship
If you plan to get started in the region of India, you should first apply for citizenship in the forums. We also say that you join the World Assembly and endorse our President. If you want to apply for citizenship then, visit the Citizenship Portal and fill the form in the thread. The Cabinet members or the members of the Citizenship Committee will review your application and give you citizenship. What are the uses of being a citizen? If you get to be a citizen then you can vote in elections, take part in Military and Intelligence Operations, take part in the regional roleplay, be a government official and many more. There exists three types of nations in the region, we suggest that you either be in the Citizen or Resident Category. The citizen category is where you receive all the features.

Military and Intelligence
If you feel like you want to work with our Military (Indian Armed Forces) and take part in intelligence operations then contact the Defense Minister.

Roleplaying India
India has a vibrant and unique roleplay community. If you want to participate in India's official roleplay then you have to be a citizen and apply for a spot on the map. There exists a list of Roleplaying Guidelines to help you in roleplay. It is currently in works and is made by Mexico Trigarante.
