My brother's grade 7 history book has this. I dont know if it's true or not (when he asked me about these since both of us are Catholics so he's a bit confused)
1. Dante's works condemn the Catholic Church (I only know of his Divina Commedia and only read Inferno in it)
2. The Catholic Church repressed progressive ideas in the Renaissance and became a force that opposed the development of society.
3. The Reformation influenced cities' economy in that Protestant cities were usually richer than Catholic ones.
4. The Protestant Reformation is one of the movements opposing the monarchichal rule in Western Europe.
5. The Protestant Church according to the book is a convenient, simple and saving-time church, fit for the bourgeiosie.
