Elaine Glean stared bug-eyed at the report she had just gotten on her desk. An appropriations request for the State Militia. The Governor wanted the Militia to have three thousand new rifles purchased by the end of the current fiscal year. Reading through she saw that consideration was being given to multiple companies but that no decision on manufacturer or model had been made.

Twenty-four hours later after a flurry of emails were exchanged with her brother in law and a member of the Appropriations Committee who regularly attended her husband's 'poker nights' and she was sure that an offer for Figueroa rifles would be accepted if it was made. They could charge the state of Fearann whatever they wanted and the commission would be fantastic. Her brother reported to their superior, Héctor Santiago Jiménez y Yagüe and told him about the opportunity when he arrived for work at the Creeperian Consulate the next morning.
