This is my position, but I’m told I’m sending a ‘bad message’ to survivors of sexual abuse and assault. I find that somewhat difficult to accept, given how tireless I’ve been in advocating for gender equality and so on. Indeed I’m always telling unfortunate partygoers the sordid tales behind Bowie and other favourite artists. I’ll happily condemn the artists themselves and their crimes, but I’m not sure why I must condemn their music with the same breath.
