The United Fruit Company Arrival
-----------------------------------------------

The Transport ships arrive arrive at the docks of Nur-Suvar to a few crowds of colonists waving and cheering as the Six thousand or so United Fruit Company men step of the ships and begin marching out into the city and to one of the nearby forts. Behind them out steps about 50 or so men dressed in their black and grey morning suits and their fancy black top hats they walk down the off the ship and get into a group of limousines and are taken to the places where they will be living and the new headquarters for the UFC on the island. A splendid building it was a more ornate building made in the style of back home spanish roof tiles and sand colored walls, inside are offices, meeting rooms but in the upstairs there is something else a room with maps of the island a control room of sorts. Monitors with satellite imagery of the island and computers detailing the current affairs of the island military wise. As the men begin to occupy the office their furniture is brought in to make it feel more at home. So after the moving is done the current representative of the UFC on the island Edvard Calin sits down at his desk and makes a call to the Commander of the UFC forces on the island Donovan Matthews during the call Edvard gives Commander Matthews his orders, to secure the island and to begin patrols making sure to keep the natives from disrupting the colonists activity on the island and to make sure if they are to come into contact with rebellious natives he is to put them down swiftly.

The Republic of Antiyard

Antiyard wrote:

The 2nd Squadron moved into position. The HQ platoons, as well as its partner rifle companies of the Third Battalion halted 3 kilometres North East of Camp Tango. Camp Tango was the code name for the Metalvian camp. The First Battalion set up about 15 kilometres from Camp Tango. It didn't want to risk discovery by coming any closer. The Second Battalion had surrounded the camp, leaving large gaps on the west and south which were the Metalvian approaches to the camp. Right when the clock struck 10, the big artillery guns fired in unison. At the camp, it was business as usual at 10. A few moments later the ordnances landed. The central mound disappeared in smoke as one of the ordnances hit it. By the time the smoke cleared, the mound had collapsed. The recon units, acting as observation posts, reported back a direct hit. This was the cue for the 2nd Battalion to go tearing into the camp. The Metalvians were stunned. The 313th Rifles was the first to arrive on the site cutting off the east entry to the camp. Trooper Michael Harris, the First Squad of the Seventh Platoon fired 13 rounds from the Arnec 366 standard issue rifle, killing 3 stunned Metalvians lying on the ground closest to him. The trooper behind him received a headshot from an observation post near them, immediately killing him. Michael felt the bullet go past his cheek. He crouched behind cover, but before he could turn to fire at the observation post, the rest of the First Squad had cleared out the lone soldier on the obpost.

On the the side of the camp, the 468th Rifles poured in. Their arrival was almost at the right moment, as the Metalvians began registering and responding to the attack on their eastern side, they were hit from the north west. Michael was helped up by another soldier and he followed his mates from the 313th into battle. The Metalvians had the tactical advantage of defense, and they fully exploited it. Michael's platoon was soon boxed in by Metalvian cover fire from 2 different positions. The platoon Sergeant ordered cover fire from both ends. Michael watched the Sergeant activate a hand grenade, count a few moments and throw it towards one of the defensive positions under cover. It exploded nearby, stunning the position out of action for a few moments. Michael's squad rushed to clear the pit. From the corner of his eye, he could see a platoon of soldiers clearing the other position that were keeping them boxed in. As the First squad reached the position, Michael helped his Corporal clear out the pit. He looked around and saw that the Metalvians above ground were fast losing ground. His platoon mates were exchanging fire with some Metalvians covered behind a wall. The Metalvians had all but lost.

Michael followed his squad to put pressure on the Metalvians. Trudging along cover, in form of a high ground between the Metalvians and themselves, the First Squad reached behind the Metalvians. One of them, who was reloading his weapon, spotted them, but received a bullet between his eyes before he could alert his mates. Michael manoeuvred to a better location and began gunning down the Metalvians. There was a sudden silence. The Captain's voice over the comms ordered them to reassemble at the entry point to the Camp. Michael trudged over and reunited with his company mates. The 3rd Battalion had converged, and the HQ platoons had set up a medical post. The captured Metalvians were held in a hut, guarded by some Military Police elements. The officers were engaged in discussion. Next to them, several soldiers were digging through the debris of the collapsed mound. Michael, followed the rest of the soldiers, laid down on the ground.

As AMV Contumia sailed towards the Beleghatan border, with the Beleghatan gunship trying to keep up, 50 kilometres away from the standoff point was the rest of the 4th Squadron. Commanded by the Mokadaluber John Laffin, the ships were ready for combat.

East of Beleghata's border, the military was amassing its assets on the border. 16 squadrons had already been formed. 12 more were partially formed. Mokadaluber Juan Riendo was in charge of the 12th Squadron, 5th Region, Western Command.

The Prime Minister, the Defence Minister, the Foreign Secretary, bureaucrats and military officials were meeting in the Viracocha Room, a large meeting room in the Prime Minister's House. The PM just got off a call from the Beleghatan Emir. He was in no mood to negotiate. The Foreign Secretary was silent. Stephen Washington struck his hands on the table. The room looked at him. The PM asked his Fikaraluber on the status of the invasion.
Fikaraluber Schofield replied, "Sir, 16 squadrons are ready. Another 12 are in the process of deployment. I think tomorrow morning we will be in a position to invade."
The PM turned to the Foreign Secretary, and asked him to prepare the declaration of war by tomorrow.
-----------------
At 11 AM, President Catanazaro went on air. She was at the Presidential Office Study Room, where the Ministry of Communications had set up a broadcasting equipment. She read out the accusations against the Emirate of Beleghata, spoke about its failure to respect international understandings, as well as, personal understanding, accusing it of kidnapping the Foreign Minister, disrespecting the immunity granted to her as a representative of a foreign government. She finally delivered the most important statement. "Antiyard, with a heavy heart, declared war on the Emirate of Beleghata." It was 11:02 AM.
It was at about the same time that soldiers of the 12th Squadron, 5th Region, Western Command fired the first shots of the war. In the south, AMV Contumia, which was holding its position right across the Beleghatan territorial sea, fired the first shot against the trailing Beleghatan gunship, until it retreated. The Mokadalutig of the Contumia knew that the gunship was in no condition to reach port, but neither the gunship had raised the flag of surrender or lowered its colors. The Contumia ceased fire, and sailed back to the advancing vessels of the 4th Squadron.

Camp Tango, days after the liberation.

Truberent Michael Harris had received and stitched on the third chevron onto his rank patches yesterday. He was now the Second in Command, Third Fireteam, Second Squad, Second Section, Second Platoon, Fourth Company, 20th General Infantry Legion. He felt proud of himself, and gave much thought on the responsibilities of his first command. He didn't need to have done so. His first assignment was to guard the entry to the HQ on the morning watch. As the sun rose higher, the temperatures and the humidity soared. At noon, the next two-man team relieved Michael and his buddy right on time. Michael informed them of any instructions received when he was on duty. The team members took up the attention position, and Michael assumed the at-ease position.

Michael checked the safety and unloaded the magazine from the standard issue rifle. He confirmed the gun was unloaded, and trodded off to the armoury to turn it in. The Warrant Officer on duty, received the rifle and checked the receiving status. He wrote down the details in a register. He signed, and turned it over for Michael to sign. Michael signed and went off to the mess hall for his lunch. The kitchen hadn't started serving, and won't be doing so for at least another ten minutes. Michael figured that he'd go off and join his company mates, in the middle of the hall.

"Hey, here comes Mike."

"Hey people."

"So, how's the chevron feeling?"

After some friendly banter and general chatter, the conversation steered around to more important subjects.

"I heard the legion is going to march again"

"The Metalvians have good defenses, we'd need the Artillery to soften it up."

"Yeah, this camp had really good defences. Raised ground, mud entrenchments. The best that can be conjured up in weeks.

"I expect we'll marching to meet an attack on Cohorse." This time, Michael spoke.

The group became confused. "How can you say that?"

"Look at the map. We were posted at Saint's North, then we marched south here. Going further south, you get to Cohorse. The Metalvians have been hemmed in this direction, there's no other target for them to attack."

"Well, why keep the rest of the force back at Saint's North? I'd say that we're..."

The mess bell struck right then, indicating the kitchen was prepared to serve.

Ragarchi Village, North Beleghata

The 12th Squadron composed of 5 armoured legions and 5 infantry legions, raced though the Ragarchi village. Beleghatan units were shot on sight. Racing through the Ragarchi village, the 12th Squadron was surprised by increasingly heavy Beleghatan response. 3 armoured legions and 2 infantry legions were able to penetrate the Beleghatan lines through till the rear area. The rest of the 12th Squadron were stuck outside the Beleghatan lines. The trapped legions didn't mind the cut off and began searching for weak links in the Beleghatan rear.

Meanwhile, 2 aircraft of the 22nd Air Support Legion, was resting on the tarmac at the FOS Jerency, when it was called upon to bomb the Beleghatan lines. Within minutes, the planes headed towards the location of the 12th Squadron.

The Cohorse Offensive
Prime Minister Stephen Washington met again with the Defence Minister Aldo Corleone and the National Security Advisor Ham Boldcrunch. Taking stock of the situation in both Beleghata and Minuda, he asked for the latest reports.

Aldo Corleone began. "Sir, these are the Beleghatan positions, and these are our positions. As you can see, we have succeeded in making a heavy dent into Beleghata's territory. I think the Fall of Ubalin will come in days. Meanwhile in Minuda, Metalvians have launched a major offensive on the city of Cohorse. Our troops are positioned here, and are in striking distance of Cohorse, should Minudans require any support."

Ham Bolcrunch then laid out on the table the details of the Minudian Civil War. "Sir, these are the latest intelligence reports from the Minudian Intelligence. The Metalvians are marching ahead towards the city of Cohorse. Minudans have set up here, right outside the city."

Stephen Washington pored through the maps and documents, "So the Minudians willl meet them here and push them back?"

"Yes, sir."

Pronouncement
Early in the morning the soldiers of the 20th Legion were packed and ready to march. The Establishment was packing up too, to shift to their new forward base if the mission was successful. Orders from the Commanding Officer were received, and the 2000 plus contingent began to march out. The officers were receiving real-time updates, thanks to the efficient information network created by the Intelligence Bureau. The information provided were received and analysed by the senior officers at the Establishment, and orders kept flowing down the chain of command.

Near the Metalvian lines, the contingent broke. Scouts were sent ahead to report on the Metalvians. Their reports were received and sent on to the Intelligence Bureau. At Saint's North, 2 bombers were fitted with CAS munitions and fueled to take off at a moment's notice. The 20th Legion set up on the easternmost side of the combat formation.

The formation advanced quickly. On crashing with the Metalvian line on the ridge of Evan's Hill, the 20th Legion made quick work of the enemy frontlines. Truberent Michael Harris flanked a Metalvian and pressed the trigger. The surprised Metalvian went down immediately. His fireteam then chased a group of Metalvians down the sides until they disappeared behind a ridge.

Down with Ubalin
All the way down south to the border of Antiyard and Beleghata, the frontlines in the Ragarchi village was bombed by the 22nd Air Support Legion. The armoured legions engaged infantry units of the Beleghatan forces. Slicing through the Beleghatan rear areas, the armoured legions made forced the Beleghatan units to turn around. It was then that the Antiyard infantry legions began ramming through the Beleghatan lines. Antiyardian soldiers shot anything that moved. The 22nd CAS Legion turned around for another run. The infantry legions swarmed the edges of the Beleghatan forces. Beleghata was fighting a losing battle.

At a northernly location, the first squadron pushed through deep into Beleghatan territory. The resistance was fragile, leaving large gaps in the rear lines. The gaps were being filled by troops of the second squadron. A Beleghatan village, Isbillah, proved uneasy to surrender. Armed forces within the village, which had been bypassed during the advance of the first squadron, began firing on any Antiyardian unit approaching the village. Faced with no other option, the Antiyard Military Forces issued an order to surrender with a deadline of six hours. Thousands of men women and children prisoners escaped by the deadline, the waiting soldiers taking them into custody for relocation to a safer place. On the last hour, a reminder was given and the 44th Artillery Legion prepared to shell the village. Even then, the firing didn't cease, and when the deadline passed, the village was pounded with 155mm shells. 10 minutes later, the shelling ceased, and the second squadron took the village.

On the Lunghan Sea, the Antiyardian Squadron began shelling the Beleghatan coast. As the Beleghatan Air Force launched attacks on the ships, the 30th Fighter Legion based on the Antiyardian coast began gaining air superiority. The Beleghatan aircraft began dropping like flies. After full air supreiority had been achieved, the ships began unloading their cargo, carrying thousands of Antiyardian soldiers onto the coast of Beleghata. The coastal city of Jardenah played host to the soldiers, who marched unchallenged through the streets. Militia units met were ordered to surrender, or in most cases, decimated.
