The Mindful Recollections of Oogway

Haha, that particular issue was clever in the fact that it cornered you between implementing child labor as a policy, or gambling being outlawed. The best bet for that sort of issue was to dismiss it in my opinion.

You can’t undo policies nor legislation already previously passed. Don’t worry, however, another issue will pop up in time for you to potentially reverse the policy if you choose the option correctly.

New Question of the Day!

Do you think humanity has it in themselves to right their previous grievances out and focus on ushering a new era of pro-environmentalism and undo the effects of climate change? Or are we destined to fall under this slippery slope?

Depends on the People, but I think that it is possible.

Given the amount of countries that are already doing something about climate change, I think we have a pretty good chance at stopping it

The era we live in is one of misinformation, but also, a renaissance of readily accessible information. We have access to news and events that were not only inaccessible in the past, but inconceivable. There is certainly a trend of people "typing it fast and letting it slip their mind", but you have to wonder what state the modern world would be in without people engaging with it at all. I believe that this engagement will only be strengthened in the future and serve to ensure the most critical of world issues cannot be hidden from the majority. Such as, environmentalism.

The source of many dissenting voices against pro-environmentalism are either inconsequential in terms of influence or an entity with something to gain or benefit. The source of many voices pushing pro-environmentalism seem to be those fearful of their own future and the future of others. Fear is powerful. Governments peddle fear to control their populace, but in the case of environmentalism the fear is in the world's control; not any governing body's.

Prices will be paid. The environment cannot be so easily controlled, but rather than relinquish that control, entities will play into it. They will find a way to achieve what is enough to satiate the people and their futures. Beyond that, they will try to find their own angle to benefit or gain from it or choose not to push it beyond what is the essential minimum.

May we hope to build a world worth living in.

Question of the Day

Do you support group vigilantes in supporting and enforcing the law of that of countries in replacement or alongside the police force and other civil authorities?

Breezy isles

Police forces already seem to act with an uneven amount of discretion. Vigilantism is an even rockier boat.

the police can't, and more often won't, go after all the people who need to be dealt with. vigilantism obviously isn't always good but it can be a helpful and sometimes very necessary part of justice being served

Not really. I believe that in rare cases vigilantes may be okay, but most times not. As mentioned by others, police tend to “operate above the law” and already have lots of slack for mistakes, which can be deadly, and unnecessary force, etc. Vigilantes may be okay when, and if police disappear, become useless in a high crime world, or if police are overwhelmed. Reminds me of partisans in Ukraine. In a situation like that, vigilantes may be okay as their is a common enemy/evil. Otherwise, I don’t really support vigilantes.

No, vigilantes almost never end up well, either they get seriously injured or killed, or they do something stupid and end up breaking the law themselves

OOC: Issue #1 just released!

The Qurrandsian Fairy Newspaper
For Fairies by FairiesTM
Issue #2
Tragedy at School
Our young nation was deeply hurt those 2 days ago. A school, the place where our fairies learn the ways of balance, and education was struck by tragedy. A bomb, or some form of explosive device, went off killing at 11 children, and injuring nearly 7 more. 2 children, as well as the teacher were left mostly fine, but were brought to a hospital for precautionary checks. It is believed by the officials that a rogue group of fairies, known as the H-Fairies, sympathizers of humans planted the explosive device in the ground at night. Currently 2 fairies are being searched for by the S.O.T.F. for 11 counts of murder, and 10 counts of attempted murder. All of us fairies felt something, something that morning was wrong, and it was deeply troubling that such a tragic thing could happen to our young, peaceful, and... fragile nation.

All employees at The Qurrandsian Fairy News send their regards to the families of the children.

Human Section

The Shrines of Qurrandsia! - Travel Guide for Humans
Does it ever seem like for as mystical and elegant the Federation of Qurrandsia is (known to humans as The Federation of Southern Fairy) it gets boring? Well if you ever get that feeling here are 4 thrilling places to visit during your trip to Qurrandsia!

1. The Land of Peace
During the brutal wars that gave rise to Qurrandsia, a protected land was made by all fairies to be kept safe, and to be used as a sacred land for all to use. This land, which is now protected by the Southern Fairy government, is now a beautiful land for all to visit, and to use. Tourists are allowed to come into the land to some extent, but you won't see all of it, you still get to see what I would argue, are the best parts!

2. The Qurrandsian Falls (Southern Fairy Falls)
One of the world's largest waterfall is located right in the middle of Qurrandsia! While not much is known about the Qurrandsian Falls, it is believed to be an ancient waterfall, believed to have never dried up for the past 100,000 years. If you manage to somehow get access to see the Qurrandsian Falls, enjoy knowing you are looking at one of the oldest waterfalls in existence. Of course, that is if you can get inside of the Southern Fairy land, and somehow get access to see the waterfall.

3. The Capital, New Qurrands (New Fairy)
While Qurrandsia provides spectacular views, and beautiful natural shrines, the city of New Qurrands is a shrine in itself. With an estimated population of 1,289,000 fairies, it is by far the biggest city in Qurrandsia, and is home to most of the history of the fairies, and is home to ancient artifacts about the history of the world. Some artifacts date back to an estimated 2 million years old! Don't forget to drop by the Fairies Library, and make sure to grab a Human to Fairy translation book, or maybe, if you want you can try and learn the Fairy language, although no human has perfectly learned the Fairy language... ever!

4. The Mountains of Qurrands (Mountains of Fairy)
The Mountains of Fairy, one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the world, spans the top region of the Federation of Southern Fairy. Covered with mystical plants, unknown species, (at least for humans) and is considered Holy by the fairies, it is one special place to see from afar. No human, or tourist for that matter has ever been allowed onto the mountain, but from afar, it is one of the most majestic things you will ever see.

That's all we have on our travel guide today, but next time we have a big surprise on what to see in New Qurrands. Also, I heard the government is accepting tourists for a small period of time! Make sure to book your tickets if you can!
