The Federation has requested another CAO, to set them on the right track. They’d find that Dhebar was a journalist in New Delhi before the 2010 south Asian war, after that it appears that he was radicalised and quickly rose through the ranks of the community forces. He isn’t particularly popular, he’s more just a spokesman for the people, is how he puts it. |
The United States of The Southeast Asian Federation The Federation of Southeast Asia has announced that it will guarantee the sovereignty of the Federation of the Four Republics; claiming that even with what the former nation of Pakistan has done towards India that the entire nation should not suffer for actions of the few. |
The Indian government has not said anything, any statement that agrees with this would be political suicide in India, the political atmosphere is extremely anti-Pakistan at the moment. |
The United States of The Southeast Asian Federation Small protests outside of government buildings primarily in Indonesia have occurred within cities of the Federation, mostly consisting of Hindus; not agreeing with the government's stance on Pakistan, wanting for the government to side with India instead. |
Indian government calls elections The entire Indian political landscape has been shook up by the events of 2010, some of the main parties competing in the election are as follows(candidates from each party still have to selected): Indian National Congress Bharatiya Janata Party Communist party of India United India Party Society of the Hindu brothers for a United India Supreme Akali Dal Indian National Congress - Nationalist |
The Canadian Federal Republic of Quebec-Libre Two Candidates have been presented, with Makhdoom allowed to simply pick himself, consult his cabinet or hold a popular inquiry regarding the matter. Candidate #1 is former President Brian Mulroney. An accomplished statesman who led Canada from 1984 to 1993, he has shown an innate ability to navigate any crisis. He is also a fine negotiator and analyst. Mulroney would likely take a more hands-on approach to the CAO role, effectively becoming the Federation's Governor General. Many in Canada consider him the more competent candidate. Some have noted however that he is very emotionally detached regarding the impact of his policies, something the population has had difficulty with all throughout his mandate. Candidate #2 is former Senator Jean Béliveau, another former hockey player. He lost his position due to the Senate's disbandment in 2005 but has remained somewhat active in politics. If Mulroney is more competent, Béliveau is more charismatic, being known for his passionate speeches that were, for many, the only thing worth watching in the former Senate. He is also known for his numerous charities and his deep family values, having conceded the 1996 Parti Patriote leadership race in order to be with his daughter and two grandchildren, Mylene and Magalie, whose father, a Quebec policeman, had committed suicide when the girls were five and three. |
The Canadian Federal Republic of Quebec-Libre (SECRET) Canada has reached out to the Indian National Congress, United India Party and, surprisingly, Supreme Akali Dal with the intention to support them in the upcoming election, not wanting to see all the work it has poured into Pakistan be burned down by the rages of the ill-informed. |
The Chinse empire of Lost Montron The agency is told to keep tabs on him and make sure he stays in the rear line. |
The United States of The Southeast Asian Federation [Secret] The Federation of Southeast Asia has started to send funding and support to the Indian National Congress, United India Party, and Communist Party of India; receiving less support than the other two parties. The intention of the support being to uphold a regime in India that wishes to keep peace throughout the region, and keep the country united under one flag. |
Makhdoom consulted with his cabinet, after some discussion it was decided that Jean Béliveau should be the next CAO. |
The Most Faithful Empire of Russo-Austria Public Morality Programs With a desire to further improve the morality of the nation, His Most Faithful Majesty and the Senate of the Empire have instituted the following program: A national social credit system will be introduced to the nation at the beginning of the next year to replace the proposed taxation bill introduced weeks ago. All citizens will receive a small portable computer which allows only authorized companies or officers note down the points, which will be digitally sent to the State. An alternative "little blue book" will be instituted to mark down points that way, and must be turned into the city hall once a month. In the system, every time a citizen does a charitable act such as serve in a nursing home, or write a letter to a convict, they institution they volunteered for will note down in their own records points equal to the number of hours spent in the area, as well as authorize points on the individual's device. There are more than just volunteering to get points. Paying charitable donations can help get points, as can achieving in one's work or studies, attending approved religious organizations, or a plethora of other ways to get points. However - points can also be removed by officials, as can organizations refuse to give points should they provide a valid reason to the State. Actions such as profaning in public, speeding, committing crimes, or falling behind in one's work or studies can land one with fewer points. Every month, points will be compiled by the State, and put on file for end of year. In this, people with a high amount of points will receive honors from the state, which can be out on applications and resumes. Furthermore, anyone with a substantially high number of points will be given a small tax cut. Nevertheless, for those who fall behind, they will receive poor marks which must be put on all resumes and applications. All employers and schools will be given the point total, and know that their subordinate or applicant is not a true hard worker, nor a charitable soul, and will be instructed to treat them as such. This will last until the next year, to see if they've earned a surplus points. All years people start with 0 points. Should one not reach 35 points by year's end, they will receive poor marks. Should they exceed 40 points they will receive honors. Should one receive honors for ten years in a row, they receive a substantial tax cut for the next two years. Companies, schools, hospitals, religious organizations, etc will have a point system as well, which will determine their taxes, as well as if they will be allowed to stay open. A deficite in points three years in a row means the organization will be shut down. |
The Republic of The Greater Lithuanian Union Unsurprisingly that very easily works and while the security of the line cannot be guaranteed both representatives of the counter-revolutionary Chechnians are at the phone ready to hear what Zapadoslavia has to say. |
The Republic of The Greater Lithuanian Union What colour does a river bleed? |
In the two years following the dirty bombing of Varanasi, India has changed significantly, with millions displaced internally and millions more foreign refugees from Bangladesh fleeing into India, which has caused a strain on services meant to help the refugees. Internal tension has flared, as multiple state governments, notably Sikkim and Maharashtra, have refused to accept Bangladeshi refugees in large numbers. The edge of the Varanasi exclusion zone has become a common location for pilgrimage, with thousands arriving to pray and view the city from a distance. The apocalyptic strand of Hindu nationalism has become widespread in communities across the Ganges, the most zealous have gathered in Patna and continued to bathe in the river, despite the intense radiation, seeing it as a prove to pay to wash away sins. This is only the most zealous and fanatical supporters of these ideologies have done these things. The optimistic nature of India as it went into the 21st century has been erased, as political tensions continue to flare and hardship continues in much of India that relies on the Ganges, a culture of fear and paranoia has become common, with Indian Muslims being hated and ostracised from the community. Many have cited that Indian Muslims fought against Pakistan, however the most extreme nationalists have of course not listened. Bangladesh went into the year 2010 being relatively underdeveloped and seeking reform, Bangladeshi politicians of the Awami League party had promised a series of reforms and initiatives to help lift millions of Bangladeshis out of poverty. Any hope for the future of the country was dashed when the bomb went off in Varanasi. Radiation flooded down the river, polluting Bangladesh’s main supply of water, on top of this, as the radiation travelled through Bangladeshi waters, it irradiated soil and sediment. Bangladesh saw millions of people leaving in the aftermath of this, they fled into India and some into Myanmar, those who stayed behind were either too stubborn, unable to move or stupid. Not to say that the conditions in the dozens of refugee camps was any better, with disease, starvation, overcrowding and crime being a problem in nearly all of the refugee camps. Despite plans to clean the Ganges, a feeling of hopelessness still pervades the Bangladeshi people, who have been really struggling to get by since the war. And finally, we have Pakistan, now the Federation of four republics. Pakistan started the war, is the general consensus, although many Pakistanis would tell you that India started it all the way back in 1947. Whatever the case may be, Pakistan dropped a dirty bomb on Varanasi and changed the fortunes of the whole of South Asia. Pakistan lost Kashmir, the whole reason they attacked India in the first place, Mehmet Korai and his ultranationalist officer clique drove Pakistan into the ground, and that’s the general consensus now. Most Pakistani’s blame Korai for the devastating defeat of Pakistan, the politicians who stayed in Pakistan formed a coalition government and started running the country. Many Pakistanis are bitter, and some still believe that Pakistan had victory stolen from it by the west. Most in Pakistan right now though are apathetic to which government is in control, and are only thinking practically, with the current situation being quite bad, the future of Pakistan, or the Federation of four republics, seems somewhat bleak at first glance, but past that , the Pakistani people have started rebuilding. |
The United Kingdom of Aunland and Rurania The Zapadoslavians seem interested in sending food and medical aid, as well as placing international observers in Chechnya to ensure no communistic crimes are commited |
In secret, Egypt has promised significantly more military aid if the federation pledges to support the Islamic Republic of Egypt in the event that it wins the civil war. |
The Canadian Federal Republic of Quebec-Libre Healing Excavation operations have begun in the Bengali Mandate as part of the decontamination effort. The state of the land has been described as "dying" and "desolate". Analysts have assessed that approximatively 100 million cubic meters of soil would have to be removed, treated and laid back all across Bangladesh for the area to see its radiation levels to drop to acceptable levels. This is coupled with a similar but smaller scale program on the banks of the Indian Ganges, where isotope deposition is substantially lessened by the lack of a delta. Special Representative Joe Clark has resumed both projects with a simple phrase: "If peace and collaborative spirit remains in the region, this could take five years. If not, perhaps twenty thousand." Meanwhile, construction of the GRPSP Complex has picked up pace following a new assessment of radiation levels in the region. These reports have shown the radiation to be not as high as previously expected, allowing a number of the many constraining health procedures to be dropped. Construction of an highly modern hospital has also started, with its cornerstone laid down by GRPSP Leader Marcus Durocher Sr. It has already been christened as the Mohandas Mahatma Gandhi Care Center. |
The United States of The Southeast Asian Federation Rebuilding of Burma: (Part One) The Parliament of the Federation of Southeast Asia has recently voted and approved of a new bill to send over 110 Million SEA Rupiahs along with a support package to begin reconstructing the nation of Myanmar. This package consists of the rebuilding of infrastructure all through the region, jobs for the local populace, and more housing for the population. Economic recovery is essential as hundreds of construction vehicles, equipment, and materials are being sent from the FSEA to the nation. The plan has also laid out a process of turning Myanmar into a newly-industrial nation similar to that of the Federation. |
There are thousands of people with radiation sickness in the surrounding communities that are on the Ganges river, the local health authority is honest with the GRPSP and state that they are not expecting catastrophic levels of radiation sickness to slow down for some time, as well as this they are also expecting a massive uptick in cancer cases in the coming years. |
The FSEA is thanked for this. And news of industrialisation has prompted the creation of the Farmers Association of Myanmar, a political party that aims to protect the livelihoods of farmers in Myanmar. |
The United States of The Southeast Asian Federation The FSEA has made a guarantee to subsidize and protect the farmers of Myanmar from the progressive industrialization of the country, showing an interest in building a strong Burmese economy. |
The man the Kurds called Kurqûm tilted his head ever so slightly, instinctively looking up to the roofs for anyone lying in ambush. Antoine also spared Sadi a glance, silently trying to ask if she'd seen anything out of ordinary while he'd been busy talking. |
The Canadian Federal Republic of Quebec-Libre He has traveled to the Federation to take office. (SECRET) Upon arrival, he has immediately requested an assessment of the nation's defensive capabilities, citing concerns with the growing trend of Hindu Ultranationalism across the eastern border. |
Indian Happenings Killing Dhebar has immortalised him as a martyr for the Hindu nationalist movement who has been gaining mllions of supporters. The good part for most seems to be that the Hindu nationalists have lost their main ideologue now, and it is expected that their popularity will suffer as a result. |
The Southern African Union of Seskeisau The central african federation pledges that it will support the Islamic Republic and will be one of its strongest allies if it wins the war. |
