“Who’s Oskarheim again?” Kodama Remon had her finger against her chin. “Someone from Friently?”

“They’re our allies, Remon...” Tokiko couldn’t stop shaking her head. It was true that some considered her a gaikoi- a person particularly interested in foreigners and things related to them. But even so, Remon should at least be aware of who their own allies were. “They’re a Reich, if I recall correctly. Somewhere in northern Usonea. They hate Atheenians. And they’re ruled by Monika Schneider, who...from what I know, she’s a bit on the intense side.”

“Hey, don’t shake your head at me! I’m in charge of arcane security, not foreign affairs. There’s no magical activity in Oskarheim. Besides, who cares about Usonea?” Remon seemed to be more confused than anything. Tokiko was about to make a retort, but another woman sat beside Remon before she could. The girl had purple hair, piercing yellow eyes, and was covered in chains and restraints. Yet none of that was unsettling as the unnatural, face-splitting smile she gave, showing a row of sharp teeth more likely to impale than to chew.

“Look, I’m just sayin’ that you have to pay more attention to these things. I know you spend a lot of time training with Zyoko here, but even so...don’t fall behind. You never know when a nation will suddenly do something important. You’ve heard of Deerfenland, right?”

“Yeah! That’s where we sent those baseball players, right? They asked me if I wanted any arcane investigators in the mix. That’s all I know about it.” Tokiko tried her hardest not to facepalm. This woman...she’s good at what she does, she’s just...is she just messing with me? I can’t tell, and I hate that. Telling this sort of thing is my entire job...

“They’re dealing with their president thing again. Heard Diche Choklate was having a similar problem. They’ve got some guy proclaiming their nation is destined to conquer the world in the name of God or something. Yeah right. If the Tengos couldn’t do it, they ain’t doin’ it. We’re-“ Remon seemed not to be paying attention. She was...spaced out. “Remon? Hey, Remon! Pay attention here! I’m tryin’ to tell you something!”

“Oh, sorry. I was just...preoccupied, that’s all. We got a massive surge on the arcanometer earlier, and we need to look into it, but the Kensaku Team’s busy so...trying to work out what exactly to do about it.”

“You know what you lot need? A diplomat capable of your arcane investigation. That way, their reason for going can just be diplomacy. No need to sneak around everywhere. I guess it’s a risk though. I mean, it’s never friendly nations that do this. We’re not gonna run into someone who wants to help us out, are we? But if you do need something done about it, I’m here for you. I’m sure Gikochinai could handle diplomacy for a couple of days. But before we even do that, I’m gonna see if I can’t send them a message. Where did it happen?”

“On Anea. South of Necerierra. They’re too close to a lot of our allies...”

“Oh, so now you know geography.” The two chuckled a little at that. Even Zyoko joined in a little, but her heavily distorted and almost monstrous voice rather ruined the moment. “I’ll look into it, alright? You can come too if you want. I’ve got nothin’ better to do here. I’ll ask the Overlady about it, but I’m sure she’ll approve. Anyway...wasn’t I talkin’ about something before?”

“Oskarheim?”

“Oh yeah! They’re invading the Catholic African Republic. Catholic and republic...ugh. Catholic is a religion I think, and republic speaks for itself. Sounds like a nasty place if you ask me. No idea why the CAR attacked- don’t keep good track of Usonea most of the time because it’s almost all colonies- but I don’t see any reason to oppose our allies. Nor to support them. War is best avoided for now. No sense wasting our chance for peace at the moment.”

“If they were attacked, aren’t we obligated to help them?” Remon asked.

“Yeah, but are they really gonna ask us for any aid? We’re on the other side of the world from them. Besides, I’m sure they want that conquest all to themselves. If I’m wrong, they’ll call us up, and we can sort it out. Anyway. That’s enough international talk. Let’s watch a movie or something. I managed to pick up an import, I’m sure watching a movie where democracy is portrayed as a good thing will make for a great comic tragedy.”

The phoenix is a legendary bird that is said to have died and risen from its ashes. This mythological bird would then be the icon of Yurizuisenzoku's rebirth, from the ashes of the previous years which have left a scar in the country. It would then also give rise to Yurizuisenzokujin militarism. The formerly isolationist country, which kept business to itself and its allies, now begins to pursue a straight up rapid rise from the ashes.

2024. Five years has passed ever since the Yurizuisenzokujin Civil War. The Tsukiyama family had been dethroned and executed. Shinto legend Aika no Fumizutsuki took over, paving the way for the new era, known as Saisei Jidai. Under the guise of extended isolationism while in the Warsaw Pact, the country entered rapid militarization and resilience, with Yashima Prefecture restoring its destroyed cities in a span of two years. The new capital ships and sophisticated vessels of the Kaigun were completed and commissioned.

The rise of Sunaiya in the west had the Shinto legend Hikari Tsune bothered. She would then request a visit of the Kaigun in the nation as a sign of "goodwill", but it was Hikari's mission to find her long lost betrothed. Megumi Ayuzawa would escort her, in which the battleship Aika no Fumizutsuki (BB-35) departed Hokusei for the nation.

Hiiragi Region would then become heavily militarized and defended by the Guntai. Much of Yurizuisenzoku hasn't changed, but the people expect more in the Saisei Jidai.
