“That means a lot, and we’ll do the same for you. That said, you’re aware of my vision and what my goals are. I can’t help but be a bit curious as to where you plan to take the Federation.”
"Truth be told, I'm not entirely sure. It really depends on the world around us."
She glanced out over the ocean again
"On one hand, I want to spread the virtues of our nation, and what makes it so great to the rest of the world. Democracy, personal freedoms, you know? On the other I find myself frustrated, despite the progress we've made I can't help but feel like an outsider to those around me on the world stage. Despite all the work we've done, the victories we've achieved I struggle to feel the respect I feel our people deserve."
She pauses for a moment, wincing slightly
"Perhaps it's just the ego speaking, but once Aislada is finally united under a single banner, not of tyranny but of the virtues of a modern democracy, maybe then Merlovich will get what is hers."
OOC note: She's got a bit of an inferiority complex, so that will influence the way the nation kinda travels under her leadership.
Proposed Agreements with the Ostarian Federal Republic ------ Ostaria, a nation bordering the illustrious Midterre sea and one of considerable interest to the Estandér government, has grown closer with the Estandér nation, especially after the late Kaiser Karl's visit. Diplomatic talks between the king were known to the public after the Prime Minister's speech to the Cortes Gerais that same day, however, their proposals were not yet implemented, especially since the Kaiser had passed and because the emergence of the Kaiserreich's successor state, the Ostarian Federal Republic, was unexpected. Prime Minister Filipe Gonçalves de Sá presented six agreements, that would be of significant importance in the near future.
- A non-aggression pact to avoid war between the two nations if things go unexpected. - Lower tariffs, fewer regulations and lower taxes on Ostarian corporations in Estandé and vice-versa, and more efficient and increased trade. - A student exchange program to facilitate cordial relations in the future and for the future Ostarian and Estandér leaders to know each other's nation, culture and language better. Free Estandér tertiary education will also apply to Ostarian foreign exchange students. - A worker's exchange program, as Estandé currently has a surplus of able-bodied and unemployed individuals that would be attracted to both pay and the chance to visit a foreign country. This will also supplement the Ostarian labour force in exchange for Ostarian citizenship after working there for six years. Estandér foreign workers will also be able to learn the nation's culture and language in the long run. - A mutual defence pact so that Ostaria and Estandé are obligated to defend each other if a foreign entity were to threaten an individual country's sovereignty. - An agreement on sharing military intelligence to facilitate increased cooperation between both countries' militaries and to supplement each other's military industry.
Once the agreements are agreed upon, they will be further discussed if needed, and then officially implemented.
The Associação Farmacêutica Nacional's Appeal to Greadis ----- The Associação Farmacêutica Nacional has reached out to the Greadian state regarding the nation's pharmaceutical industry and the necessary products to formulate essential medicinal drugs. The AFN is willing to steadily supply and produce these things for a lower cost in exchange to purchase land and real estate without many restrictions. The AFN is also willing to supplement struggling Greadian pharmaceutical industries if they could acquire at least 30% of company shares. They will also be shipping their surplus medicine to Greadis if approved by the supervising ministry, or the supreme government directly.
