Dennis Raford looked proudly at the example of the newly produced batch of jerseys for the Greenville Astros, and the Greenville Solstice, the city’s CBA teams. Their gold and navy blue color scheme worked wonders for the golden Pegasus logo proudly being displayed in the left shoulder portion of the jersey. It was only fitting that the largest company in the city would sponsor the team. They were just steps away from purchasing a large steak in Greenville Superdome as well, but Dennis had no intention on changing it’s name.
“I should really get these framed, don’t you think?” Dennis asked his assistant, Carol. Carol stared at the Jersey blankly, not really having the same enthusiasm for basketball as her boss. “I can go to the office and get some frames ordered.” She said, putting on a smile.
“Thank you Carol. After that, take a coffee break. You deserve it.” Dennis replied. He folded the Jerseys and handed them to Carol. As he did though, the phone on his desk began to ring. Dennis, the industrious man he was, quickly answered as to not potentially waste a fast moving businesses opportunity.
“Sharlene. Talk to me.” He said, sitting behind his desk. “Give it to me straight.”
“Cymiopolis contacted us. The Minister of the Defense. He wants to dine and wine with you. I’d jump on it if I were you, he’s looking to make a big purchase.” Sharlene straightforwardly said.
“AH! The Cymiopolitans! My favorite customers! Tell the minister I’d do anything for him.” Dennis said, enthusiastically. How could he not?
“Will do sir.” Sharlene said. She promptly hung up.
Carol, at that moment, came back into the CEO’s office. “Carol!” Dennis said, pointing directly at her. Carol looked up, wide eyed and bewildered at the sudden burst of energy.
“Clear anything non-essential in my schedule next week.” He said. Carol, still confused asked “For what purpose sir?” But Dennis answered her question with a proposition.
“How would you like to join the husband and I on a business trip to Cymiopolis, Carol?”

The Monthly Tabloid (TMT) logo contest was won by Eastern Tatarstan of altay against Indian genius of Thaecia. The Eastern Tatarstan Logo was chosen as the official logo of TMT. Congratulations to the winner and special thanks to the opponent. The vote was hard and the winner defeated Indian Genius for 1 vote. The tiebreaker was the final vote by the WAD Neo Kerala.
HoD Elections
In the HoD Elections of India for the AoR. The Green Peace Party won with the most number of seats in the region. But, United Global Democrats secured the most seats in other regions which resulted in their victory in the elections. Congratulations to all elected representatives of the House of Delegates.
Embassy Fever
The region opened embassies with reputed regions in Nationstates as a part of the Internationalisation of the region. Embassies were established in regions like Spiritus, Caer Sidi, 21st Century Rome. We extend special thanks to The Salaxalans for helping the region to establish embassies with Spiritus.
India for Sports
Five nations from India have been signed up for the IAFF World Cup 2020. This is the first time India is participating in the IAFA world Cup. The tournament was last held in 2018. The nations of the region has also participated in setting up sports in Assembly of Regions. Orissa islands and Indusse was chosen to the AoR Sports Board and were made the Vice President and President Respectively.

Discussions with Spiritus Administration was made by the PM Indusse as they invited India to be part of the N-Day Faction "Potato Alliance". The potato Allaince, one of the factions who is ranked in Top 10 in the N-Day event opened the doors for India to enter. This article is the official confirmation of the entry. Recently in the region of India, there was an accidental ‘coup’. The Monthly Tabloid journalists Armenasia and Anarchic republic of india interviewed Indusse, the nation who is the former WAD and who temporarily usurped the WA Delegate role, and Neo Kerala, the rightful WA delegate.
Here are their responses to some questions:
1. Was it intentional? Indusse: Haha... Why would I coup him now? If it was intentionally then I could have been the WAD now and I'm also the founder so,there isn't a need for a coup. It wasn't intentional. Neo Kerala: No.
2. How did you feel/what thoughts came to your mind after the 'accidental' coup? Indusse: Well.. Nothing much. Well negative thoughts never came to my mind. I was once the WAD of this region and my reign is 500+ days. So, there isn't a negative intention. NK: Declined to answer
3. Only 50% of WA members in India have endorsed the delegate, should we encourage more endorsements or make endorsing the wa delegate mandatory? Indusse: Yes. I have previously said about the World Assembly Endorsement Program. When it's implemented I think everything will be all right NK : Yes, we should encourage more endorsements
4. Do you support having more nations in India joining the WA? Indusse: Yes. Of course. WA nations is really mandatory as it proves that the identity is unique and is not a puppet. NK : Yes
5. What measures have been taken to prevent a repeat event? Do you think they are adequate? Indusse: Nothing much. Well I'm planning to set a World Assembly Endorsement Program in the region. This event would have repeated on 29th (of July) if I didn't inform NK. NK : Did not answer

ANTIOPE SPACE PORT | Cycladic City, Antiope Minor
Petros met his guests personally at the Antiope Spaceport as they descended from the steps of a Pegasus Palisade 992. They soon made their way to the central rail station of Cycladic City were a Maglev train would take them to Cymiopolis Eschate on the other side of the continent. Along the way, Dennis, his husband and his assistant marvelled at the serenity of Antiope Minor’s natural beauty while the Defense Minister served them wine. Upon arrival at the resort town an unbelievably fast 3 hours later, a limo awaited them to bring them to the Palazzo Melissino on the outskirts of town.
Petros gave his an exhaustive tour of his marble-clad villa and its grounds. The tour concluded at his personal vineyard where everyone partook in some wine tasting. While his husband and Carol were free to go and partake in the activities that the Palazzo has to offer, Mr Raford and Minister Melissinos got down to business.
“As you may know, Mr Raford, there is a war taking place.”, Petros sighed.
“Indeed there is Minister, indeed there is. What does your Most Serene Republic wish to do about it?”, Dennis inquired.
“The Prime Minister is on the fence on the topic of joining. While Ventus Prime is a dear ally of Cymiopolis and he is disgusted with the Kunkengan barbarity, he isn’t ready to commit troops while we are in the process of military reforms. That’s where you, or should I say, your company comes into play.”

Dennis was quite frankly surprised. Not just at the incredibly large order from the Minister of Defense, but the similarities between their two countries in this time of war. From his understanding, the New United Carolinas were suffering through the same dilemma. Ventus Prime is a key ally of the NUC. But due to the military growth reform, committing troops would be suicidal, especially since a grand majority are still in training.
"First of all," Dennis began. "I'd like to apologize for spitting my wine. I was just caught by surprise."
Petros nodded in understanding.
"Second of all, your purchase will be discounted, but it's hard to say how much off the top of my head. Of course, being a Pegasus Starships contract nation, you already have that 35% discount on all purchases. I could probably leverage with the factories to add a 15% on top of that given the bulk size of your order. That would bring it to 50% off all ships. However, I doubt I could go much higher than that. Considering these ships are so expensive, especially when it comes to importing the minerals. Our primary source of Thorium is from Karteria, but it's beginning to be too much. That's not counting the other parts we may have to import. Also, we'd probably need to construct more factories and distribution centers in order to complete your order in a quick matter. We've already decided to expand into space with Ventus Prime, but they're the only nation to offer space facilities."
Dennis paused to take a sip of his wine. He had a terrible habit of taking far longer than necessary, but he felt obligated to express his reasonings.
"We also need enough to make a sizeable profit. Not just for the benefit of the company and it's workers, but as well as the local economies, particularly back home in the Carolinas. We try to give around 22% of all profits into the Carolinas, translating to billions of dollars. So you can understand where I'm coming with this, no?"
While I understand your reasoning, I am reluctant to go to any planet that contains any Kunkengan territory. Perhaps we could meet on one of your colonies? As a token of appreciation I’ll make sure to bring my best case of wine.

“Are you sure you don’t want me to come along?” Raphtalia asked as they stood in front of the cargo transport. Over her traditional uniform, Lysithea wore a worn brown cloak with a good over her head to make her look like any normal citizen.
“I’ll be fine Raph, besides you need to be here in case of an attack,” Lysithea said, putting a hand on Raphtalia’s shoulder. “Not that I expect one but it’s best to be cautious. Besides, Cymiopolis is a neutral state and they wouldn’t dare risk bringing them into the war.”
There were five other people with her. Her guards, dressed the same as she was. “Time for us to go, Chancellor,” one of them said.

Introduction and Origins
The 2020s brought chaos and uncertainty to the nations of the world. The combination of a global pandemic, eroding global supply chains, the Russo-Ukrainian War and a global recession brought the world to it's knees and led to the balkanization of global superpowers. Smaller nations weren't any luckier with military juntas making a comeback in an attempt to maintain stability through force. While Russia and China have slowly pieced themselves together by the 2040s, the once mighty American Empire has shattered along regional and socio-economic lines. While democracies are starting to see the line at the end of the tunnel, autocracies remain unchecked in the meanwhile until the West can renew its alliances.
A new world order is about to begin, and the new nations of the earth will seek to adapt and prosper, lest they perish into obscurity.
Below is a list of all possible events that could occur in the roleplaying world of the New West Indies. All of these events are determined by the Nwi roleplay committee. These events will effect the general direction of roleplay in some way, and we highly implore nations to keep them in mind when writing their roleplay posts.
Events are determined in one of two ways. The first way is through pre-established roleplay, which means that an event could be decided by a roleplay post written by a member of the New West Indies. If said post can garner a reaction from the international community, it will be announced as an event. How long the event lasts is determined by the nation(s) in question.
The second way is through the Roleplay Committee itself. Certain events that affect no specified nations will be announced at random (such as recessions) OR at a pre-designated time (such as seasonal events). If the committee decides an event must start within a particular nation, the Committee will ask that nation for permission. For example, the committee may ask a nation on a fault line to roleplay an Earthquake. If the nation agrees, it will be counted as an event, and if the nation disagrees, the event will not be counted.
As previously stated, events of this nature can occur at random or in specific time ranges.
PLEASE do not ask the committee for certain events to begin.
Civil War:Tsone (Roedthaffen) has become fractured among many different political factions.
Civil War:China (The eastern radiance) has declared an irredentist war against the Turkic Union (Derwan), Korea and Mongolia with the goal of reannexing Xinxiang, Manchuria and Inner Mongolia respectively. Rumors of Beliya Rossiya considering to join the war againts Mongolia over Buryatia have been reported.
War:The American Junta, a rump state of the former USA has declared war on the New united carolinas and the Commonwealth of Columbia (Jakkonia) following a false flag attack on it's own diplomatic envoys.
Diplomatic Meeting:Patagonia-araucania hosts a mediation summit in Oshovia between the Americans, Columbians, Carolinians and Pacificans in an attempt to achieve a ceasefire between the American successor states
Panamerican High Speed Rail NetworkPatagonia-araucania has proposed the construction of HSR lines connecting the metropolises of Southe and eventually North America. Work has begun on the Patagonian portions of the Pacific and Atlantic lines.

Keep in mind that these are NEVER determined by roleplayers. HURRICANES, DROUGHT, MONSOONS, AND WILDFIRES can only be roleplayed in these timeframes, as they are the only times it'll really make sense.

Monsoon seasons are periods of large scale seasonal and wind circulation change, that can not only cause heavy rainfall, but also dry spells depending on the time. Harsh thunderstorms, followed by dust storms are common.

While generally occurring during summer months, wildfire season can stretch for random amounts of time.
Areas with dry hot climates can experience naturally occurring wildfires during summer months. These fires can rage for days, weeks and even months depending on severity. Typically occurs in areas with dry grasses, trees and other plant life. Although a natural occurrence, the climate change caused by earlier nation's pollution often means fires will last longer.

Strong, windy storms that typically touch down during summer months. Nations within/ containing a "Tornado ally" should be wary of these miserable, destructive storms.

Hurricane/ Cyclone/ Typhoon

A massive, moving storm that can ravage coastlines and even inland cities with their strong winds and massive amounts of rain. Hurricanes can last months without faltering, causing massive amounts of damage. It can lead to floods, and even create Tornadoes upon landfall.
Occurs in: North America, Central America, Caribbean, South East Asia, South Asia, Polynesia, Arabian Peninsula
Earthquake
National, Regional
The result of colliding fault lines. Nations along these fault lines better be wary, as earthquakes can occur at any time, at any level of severity. If a nation is not properly prepared, they can level entire buildings. In some cases, earthquakes can cause Tsunamis. Earthquakes can also be caused by anything that happens to cause a disturbance in a faultline, such as a big explosion.

Ice Storn/ Blizzard
National, Regional
Occurs in areas that experience incredibly cold weather in the winter months. It is incredibly dangerous for people to be out during a blizzard, and transportation becomes nearly impossible. Blizzards can freeze important machinery, summon hail, and even strand people.
Occurs in: Nations with high elevation, and/or significant distance from the equator.
Forest Fires/ Wild Fires
National, Regional
Happens typically in nations with dry climates. While a natural process that's actually good for the environment, sometimes they can get out of hand, and can cause damage to human settlements. It's advised that they be controlled and not put out.
Occurs in: Any nation with dense forests, coupled with poor wood resourcing practices or dry climates.
Drought

An event of prolonged shortages in the water supply, whether atmospheric, surface water or groundwater. May cause crop shortages and economic downturn as a result.
Occurs: Areas susceptible to low amounts of rainfall
Flood
National
Flood: an overflowing of a large amount of water beyond its normal confines, especially over what is normally dry land. Nations who experience cold snowy winters should be weary with river settlements during the spring thaw. May also occur as a consequence of tsunamis and hurricanes for coastal cities

Volcanic Eruption
National, Regional
A violent or slow ejection of molten rock, ash and steam pour through a vent in the earth's crust that leads to the destruction of land and structures that are in the path of lava flows and rain. Large amounts of ash in the right wind stream may disturb air travel.
Occurs: Fault lines with volcanic activity (Pacific Ring of Fire, certain Mediterranean islands, Iceland, etc.)
Locust Plague
National, Regional
While normally innocuous, these grasshoppers enter their swarming phase under the perfect conditions of a drought followed by rapid vegetation growth. These dense swarms stretching multiple kilometers lead to destruction of crops

Tsunami

A series of waves in a water body caused by the displacement of a large volume of water, generally in an ocean or a large lake. Earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and other underwater explosions (including detonations, landslides, glacier calvings, meteorite impacts and other disturbances) above or below water all have the potential to generate a tsunami.

Humans damage the environment in lots of ways. Certain nations to a better job at managing it than others. But if the environment suffers massive amounts of damage, without much of an attempt to manage or preserve it, it's considered Environmental Degradation, which can harm everyone in some way.

An intentional event of mass casualty. Whether it be protests gone wrong, governments killing their own citizens, deadly riots, or mass murder. Massacres are considered Terrorist attacks when it has a political motive, and aims to promote a specific rhetoric.
Accidents

Accidents include everything from Plane Crashes, Nuclear Meltdowns, Building Collapse, Space Shuttle explosions, Oil Spills, etc. These events are usually case by case, and specific in nature. But their scale can vary heavily depending on who/ what is affected.

Disease is something we all have to deal with in real life, so no doubt it can occur here as well. All the Medicaid in the world might not be able to prevent a sudden outbreak.

When a nation attempts to aggressively expand it's territory, wealth, or influence via aggressive tactics. Generally occurs due to nationalistic ideologies and strongman leaders. Will almost always result in a negative reaction regardless of who it affects.

When two or more nations engage in armed combat for various reasons and interests. If a war is big enough, it can affect all nations in some way or another, including neutral ones. War can cause a variety of events to occur depending on the situation.

Can be caused by a wide range of situations. When a large amount of people working in a particular industry/ particular nation lose their jobs. This can be catastrophic depending on the scale, as not only will their be less work getting done (production and services), but less money flowing in and out of the economy as well.
Economic Boom

A period of time in which a nation or region experiences higher GDP, low employment, rising asset prices, and high inflation rates. Can occur for a numerous amount of reasons.
Wartime Economy

A short-lived boom in economy during times of war. Caused by increase in manufacturing and even trade between nations. Though these affects can wear off shortly after war. For nations who lose a war however, post-war economy can be awful.
2061 - Dunharrow declares war against most of the former United States. Loses to an international coalition.
2nd Dunharrowan-American War
2065 - An international coalition declares war against Dunharrow after reports of massive WMD production. Within a decade the Dunharrow Empire falls into many City States.

Having arrived only on the Antiopean moon moments ago himself, the Doge was eager to meet the Ventuan Supreme Chancellor, having only caught a glimpse of her at the last Versailles Pact meeting when she was still only the Vice Chancellor. Perfectly on a schedule, what appeared to be an assuming CCE cargo vessel docked with the terminal. A few minutes later, the Doge's distinguished guest appeared before him along with her guards. Brief pleasantries were made before the group made their way to the rail station to board a Maglev bound for the resort town of Cymiopolis Eschate where a limousine would be waiting to transport them 30 minutes southwest to the Doge's personal estate on the Boeotian Coast.
With Amazonia beginning to set and the gas giant Antiope Magna taking center stage in the night sky, both leaders took a seat on the terrasse overlooking the Avathís Sea to official begin their discussion.
"How can I help you Supreme Chancellor?" Andreas inquired while uncorking a bottle of Ventuan wine provided by Lysithea.
“I thank you for seeing me on short notice, Doge Andreas,” Lysithea began. “I’ll get straight to the point. I’m in need of your help. The war has hit a stalemate, with multiple fronts and our military is at its limit. Personnel and soldiers are not an issue, but they need ships and our shipyards, even at full capacity, still can’t produce more ships quick enough.”
She looked out towards the sunset. “I realize I’m asking a lot, even though your nation is still in the process of building up its own military and perhaps many nations are fearful of joining because of retaliation but Mr. Andreas, that first encounter out in Ganymede was not provoked and believe me, Kunkenga will attack other nations, if not now, soon.”
She paused for a moment and smiled slightly. “Well, I guess I’ve put all my cards on the table...”
