Her gaze immediately went to the blue dots in the distance. She immediately turned to the nearest crewman "Begin preparations to move this ship to the other end of the solar system immediately. And get Vanek on the line!!!!!" "Yes Captain!!!!!!!!!" She turned to the people gathered in the room "If those belong to any of you speak now or lose them forever."

Purgadellhi looked at the blue dots, he could only assume to be drive plumes, and hairs raised on his neck. He spun around, looked at Dragargon "I have 2 ODP's that are able to fire on those targets, say the word and you have my firepower!" He yelled, "For the love of God, Buddha, Allah, or what every the hell you want to call the bearded man in the sky, please tell me that those ships belong to someone here!"
On another note, back in Dernel, about 50 kilometers east of Illaria, in an underground hangar, Isabella Rosachelli Lead Science Director of Dernel, is laboring over a new project she's been working on for the last 3 months with her massive team. No one else is currently in the R&D lab due to it being nearly 2AM. Rosachelli finishes up her last modifications on what seems to be a giant coffee mug with a ball attached to its underside, all of which is lain on its side, with the open end facing towards a jet engine testing tunnel. Rosachelli stands up, walks through a decontamination chamber, closes the doors to it, and walks to her desk, and looks at her PC. The screen is filled to the brim with readouts supposedly coming from the mug and ball. She looks to her left at a big red button that is of a concerning size. "sigh, I hope this works." Rosachelli flips open the lid and depresses the button. Her PC starts spewing out sounds varying from low hums to high pitched warnings, a Geiger counter attached to the sphere starts clicking rapidly. Then suddenly the window between the testing chamber and her switches to tinted mode, as she feels an incredible rumbling emanating from the ground. The computer falls silent, the rumbling stops, the Geiger counter stops clicking. The glass suddenly removes its tint to reveal what happened. Rosachelli looks in awe as she sees the jet tunnel is dripping with molten rock. A tear rolls down from Rosachelli's cheek as she exclaims "It-it-it worked!" She runs to her computer and looks at the camera footage, she rolls it back and watches-she presses the button and from the open end of the mug a yellow-orange flame erupts, as the rock in it's path melts under the intense heat.-Rosachelli immediately cuts and sends the footage to the SOD with a short text following, "The engine is finally done, the reactor works. Been up for 3 days, Going to get some sleep." She put's her phone down and heads home.
Back on her desk, her phone rings and a notification appears, from Zubeknakov, "Zubeknakov: 1 message: Good, start construction on the Ancile..."
(ooc, I know the factbook says i have 3 Ancile class Corvettes, that is what i plan on having after this whole thing is done)
Thinking through the conversation he had to make, the representative of the Cossack Peoples was interrupted in his thoughts by a commotion.
Damn, Pavel thought. He would have to wait until this played out. And frankly, he had hardly an idea what was to play out.
"The other end of the solar system, madame? You must be mad! That far out, the further we are from aid, AND sovereign territory! What I suggest you do, Madam President, is try to signal the ships or hack the missiles--whatever's coming our way, before you make a Cossack record-holder of me!"
Leo turned around towards Alice and the rest of the conference. "FEAR NOT", he said loudly in his heavily accented English. "These are Raumwaffe craft. They belong to the Imperium of Leonism. The large ship pulling up next to us is an L/KRV class star corvette, the smaller ones coming from the surface are R44 aerospace superiority fighters."
Now everyone could see what Leo had been talking about. Coming from behind, a large starship pulled up between them and the planet, until it filled most of the port-side windows. It was about 100 m long, with a round hammerhead shape up front, followed by a narrower section that linked the bridge with the bulky reactor section in the middle. It had a clearly visible Imperial Cross painted on its hull. At the end there was again a narrower section leading to the engines, the thrusters of which were glowing bright red as the corvette was catching up with them. (OOC: It looks rather similar to Princess Leia's Tantive IV CR90 corvette from StarWars Episode IV)
The blue dots from the surface - they were drive plumes as Purgadellhi of Dernel had correctly assumed - grew larger until they were clearly visible as fighters, looking like a jets but with an uncharacteristically bulky midsection where their reactors were housed. There were about two dozens of them and they formed up an escort formation around the corvette.
Leo spoke again. "These ships, my friends, are here to protect us. The Imperium of Leonism will not be cowed by any would-be invaders from outer space...nor any hostile powers from our planet, for that matter. We have more of the larger ships under construction and already plenty more of the fighters in service."
The resolution fails to take into account situations where drugs need to be administered involuntarily for the protection of the individual in question, especially psychiatric emergencies such as acute psychosis or suicidal patients.
Its intention is noble, but the lack of medical expertise makes it a badly crafted attempt that should be replaced with a less black-and-white approach.
OOC: See, I admire the bravado but realistically this is a potential empire that is dedicated to the wholesale slaughter of people like us with multiple planet's resources to draw from likely with multiple space fleets. So I mean, unless we become a movie or godmod then death is inevitable. Or maybe not
Fluffiness' Assembly think that there are loopholes which won't prevent "bad actors", such as law-enforcement agencies or authoritarian regimes from drugging people, just by declaring they are "physical threats". Plus the medical flaws that Leonism mentioned.
OOC: Of course, against an "Independence Day" kind of threat, the Imperium's puny space forces would stand no chance in open battle...nor would those of anyone else on Lazarus, for that matter.
The Imperator Konsul, deeply rooted in the scientific mindset of his people, does at this point not at all believe in a credible, extraterrestrial threat. There has been no evidence but a single transmission by an unknown actor, that might as well have been faked. Thus, the reason the Imperial spacecraft appeared at this moment was mainly as a "show of force " towards the rest of Lazarus as well as due to earnest concern for the wellbeing of Leo on part of his Guard.
The Two Tubbies of Treadwellia are awake. They both would really like to go back to bed, but Tubbius has a sermon to give at the local Church of Tubbius, and Mrs. Tubbius is seeing to the babies in the nursery.
Does anyone know what all is going on with Brexit nowadays? Last I heard Britain was trying to strike some deal with the EU but like their PM was doin weird stuff or something... idk, not really sure where to read up on it. x)
Brexit'll happen 23:00 GMT Friday because the withdrawal deal got signed. Then trade deals with non EU nations can begin to be negotiated (which will take years per deal so yay.) Johnson is always weird. That's his brand.
