Prime Minister Cornelia Mechitbayeva has been removed from office by a vote of no confidence from parliament. Mechitbayeva, the first woman PM, served in the office for 14 years. Her former deputy Timotei Manescu will now serve as Acting Prime Minister until the election of 64.

For the first time in a great many years, the Tsezar administration has given an open diplomatic response:
"Executive Marshal Tsezar sends his condolences to former Prime Minister Mechitbayeva, and wishes her the best. As well as this, the United Protectorates hopes that it's relationship with Alma Ruma will remain positive, despite the change in leadership."

Imagine this; you are the leader of a state that has had a dark and unclear past, suffering constantly under a mix of poor management and international pressures. After being handed a crushing defeat in a desperate attempt at breaking out, your nation went into an isolationist period which saw it suffer the most in all of its existence. However, following a government change, and proper management, your nation is on the uptick for the first time in well over two centuries. Suddenly, though, there is a new virus which bypasses all of your nanobot technology! The national suicides skyrocket, as sexual trauma within your nations population results in wide-scale depression which after 50 years finally comes crashing down. As well as this, you are geopolitically challenged on all fronts.

Cadre, in 2218 is faced by all of these factors, the government had a severe scare over the Aoratos-1 virus, which raged across the country from 2208-2214, and resulted in well over 1.5 trillion Cadrean deaths. This was utterly horrible for the state, not only did it reduce its overall production demand by nearly 60 percent, but also resulted in the states natural tax collection system nearly collapsing in on itself. The state managed to avoid this through a mix of corporate collaboration and reduction of state entities, but it set a dangerous precedent for UCR. That's why in 2216, the nation had ordered libido-rays from the New Dawn. This has allowed UCR to begin experiencing minor population growth again. As of 2218, the nation reports a yearly population growth... not counting anomalous growth... of 0.5%, the greatest it's been in nearly 50 years.

Speaking of anomalous growth, in the year 2190, nearly 15 billion Alma Rumen-descendant people dropped dead. Nobody really understands why that happened, but it still did happen. Now, nearly 30 years later, suddenly they all reappeared. Within a few weeks they had all turned blue, and it was at this point the Cadrean government became nervous. The country instituted a nation-wide lockdown of Alma Rumens and their associates under the presumption that this is a situation similar to the Aoratos-1 virus which had ravaged the country just a few years prior.

This year as well, the country begins under taking a re-evaluate her foreign policy. Last year, President Rio Edwards for discussions on future relations with Proxy-Scae. In these talks, the UCR had managed to secure dual-embassies and order a vast amount of weapons, armor, shield, technical, energy, and technological components from Proxy-Scae. The year before that the country bought weapons from nations like Muni, the DREC, and any other nations who would sell. This has been in a wide-brush attempt at modernizing the UCR military while founding economic footholds in countries that otherwise would be outside of Cadrean influence. All in total, this strategy has been "Effective" for this purpose.

Yes, it managed to get UCR the essential knowledge around parts required for modern tools of war, yes, it allowed Cadre to develop its military's vision going into the future, and yes, it allowed the country to begin holding some economic sway over nations like the DREC and Proxy-Scae which under other circumstances would be completely opposed to buying foreign goods from anybody but their allies.

However, the strategy has begun to undergo questioning by the Economic Minister and Marshall of Defense. On one hand, the Economic Minister while although seeing the benefits to such a system in gaining a semi-economic dependency upon UCR to buy their goods also sees the fact... We're buying their goods, and they aren't buying ours. It makes the economic minister mildly concerned, as it puts Cadre in a slightly vulnerable position economically by undercutting UCR businesses. As well, and while although not his field, has him concerned over the independence of the military if Cadre is buying all of her components from direct military competitors on her borders. Similarly, the Economic Minister is concerned over the presence of Proxy-Scae on the universal economy at all, as the country directly serves as a buffer against UCR economic dominance in nations like Atrus. At the very least, the country benefits off of Proxy-Scaean involvement through sapping money out of them without having to invest in them. This by Proxy-Scae indirectly funding UCR businesses by investing in countries UCR already holds steak in.

These fears are shared by the Marshall of Defense, who believes that if the UCR is to ramp up her military dependence on other nations, she will surely find herself the weakest nation in the universe once more despite her gigantic size. On her borders are four major industrial powers, and of those industrial powers, 3 are guaranteed to have a more capable military than UCR, at least in the long-run. Of the 1 power that isn't more militarily capable, the country industrially competes with Cadre. All in total, it's a concerning sight, especially given Cadre's anxieties about invasion.

This has sparked severe debate in the cabinet and upper-echelons of the government over the past year. The country is torn on whether to continue its current economic anchor strategy in the long term. Ultimately, it was definitely useful for UCR in the long term to buy all of this equipment and develop herself, considering that, is it really worth it to continue buying material en masse anyways once all orders are fulfilled?

The country is unsure, and it's looking for a way out of this bind; a way out of its population bind, a way to break the economic wall that seems to befall her, and a way to make her military independent without risking anything.

The country grows more anxious by the day.

Acting Prime Minister Timotei Manescu has secured enough votes to be elected and formally inaugurated as the 10th Prime Minister of Alma Ruma. His victory comes at a crucial moment in Alma Ruma, with the economy narrowly surviving thanks to a deal arranged by the PM and Datloviya.

Along with securing the office of PM, the Republican Party has also regained seats in the House, solidifying their majority for another 4 years.

A major campaign promise of PM Manescu was having Alma Ruma rejoin the Galactic Republic. His next major obstacle in obtaining that goal is convincing Parliament...

Reports of a disaster in Sector N-104 "Kiev"
The iconic city of Energia-Buran has exploded into the air. Portions of the city now float around 300 meters above the ground, creating masses of "floating islands" throughout the area causing mass craters to come into fruition as well as multiple building collapses and extreme damage to infrastructure. Experts speculate that an esoteric energy system (oorp its an anomaly what went kaboom) may have been involved in the disaster. Multiple relief agencies have arrived on site within five hours of the disaster.

Eyewitnesses state that they felt a "suffocating like" sensation before being subjected to a wash of an intense amount of light and a blast of heat only to then see that portions of their city are now floating above them. Luckily it seems that these "floating islands" are stationary and show no current sign of falling back down however mass evacuations are underway in the event that the situation develops.

People are being rushed to hospitals by paramedical units; currently, due to traumatic injuries sustained by debris, some suffer third-degree burns due to the blast, some with some form of radiation poisoning. We send our regards to those affected and hope it can be fixed ASAP
