This resolution seeks to remove the password on the region Hellish Dominion Of Abysmal Torment, a region which embraces fascism and uses its frontier status to recruit new members into their ranks. Their recent actions in invading Warzone Trinidad have triggered the proposal of this resolution, and we're glad to stand with the rest of NS against this region. It has been longstanding policy of the Bloc that fascists get no quarter on this website. Whether that be in the GP sphere, roleplaying, or anywhere else they might find themselves, their mere presence is a threat to us all. In the words of the PRAF; Fascists don't get Frontiers. Blow that sucker wide open!
As such, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs has directed Kethania to vote FOR Liberate Hellish Dominion of Abysmal Torment, and urges the Bloc's World Assembly nations to do the same.

I hate to barge in unannounced, but I do bring news about the present GA proposal; Against Racial Discrimination, despite its name, explicitly legalizes and protects employment discrimination based on race in all Member-States. The margins on the vote are thin, and every vote counts. You can, also see our Rec over at TCB for a bit more information.

Rationale & Analysis
This proposal is part of an effort to strengthen international civil rights law after the repeal of GAR#35 The Charter of Civil Rights. While most provisions of that resolution were superseded by more modern, detailed resolutions, there was no resolution specifically prohibiting racial discrimination. This resolution seeks to help accomplish that goal.
However, while this resolution is mostly well-written, it strikes one big blow against itself: it unintentionally leaves a path for member nations to legalize racial discrimination. The second half of Section 3 allows employers to deny employment to someone:
[W]here that employer can conclusively show that both (a) the role is clearly related to the said racial characteristic, and (b) that racial characteristic is essential [...] if employed.
While this is clearly intended to allow employers to use race as a qualifier in limited situations, such as reasonable allowances prioritizing marginalized groups, realistically serves to open the door to employers claiming any perceived racial trait as a barrier to employment. This fundamentally erodes the goals of this resolution and acts as a severe roadblock on the way towards racial equity.
The Ministry hopes to one day support a future proposal without the inclusion of such a glaring loophole.
As such, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs has directed Kethania to vote AGAINST Against Racial Discrimination, and urges the Bloc's World Assembly nations to do the same.

“Nor shall Section 2 prohibit an employer from considering a racial characteristic as part of deciding who to employ in a role, where that employer can conclusively show that both (a) the role is clearly related to the said racial characteristic, and (b) that racial characteristic is essential to carry out the relevant tasks if employed.“ Yep. I love the WA, which stands for peace and equality except when you really just don’t want to.
Ah yes nationstates, requiring people to not misgender trans people is bad. you see it infringes on the right to free speech, say the people who actively don't think trans people even exist
Sorry I missed this. Been away from the site and the GA and it has done wonders for my emotional well-being. HMU on discord if you have any such thing brewing in future.
It’s meant to be ironic. I chose a solution to an issue saying that deliberately misgendering trans people is harassment… because it is, and my civil rights rating went down?
Read my factbook, they weigh several thousand tons and barely let you get to the speed of light. They are also very fragile and produce insane amounts of radiation if even slightly damaged.
