It's helpful to talk with friends if they also use it, when all my friends moved from Xbox to PC it helped me stay connected with them. Also some games have community servers for updates, but I dont use it for anything else other than that

I have friends. I moved away from my best friend, we talk on the xbox. I don't want a phone anyway :/
