The national flag of Brezzia (Italian: Bandiera brezziana) Is the consists of a red field charged with the National Emblem at the hoist side and a wolf in gold at the fly side between two stripes in gold. It was designed and officially adopted in January 2020. The flag is referred to as il Lupone, or "the Big Wolf" flag.

Flag variants

Government flag

The red field represents socialism and the golden color of the details represents the fruits of labor of the united working class. The Emblem of Brezzia represents the Brezzian State and the wolf represents the nature of the Brezzian Isles. The two golden stripes stylize the tracks of a railway and indicate Brezzia's progress towards communism.

Civil flag

The civil variant was designed by an elementary class of Nova Sybaris, because the Emblem of the Workers' Council Republic was to difficult to draw for them. This design quickly gained popularity in sporting events and was finally adopted as an official symbol of Brezzia on June 2021.

The civil variant also differs in darker shades of colors which make flags made of cheap materials more resistant to sunlight.

Jolly Roger

The Siblinghood of the South uses a Jolly Roger with a skull and crossbones and the Brezzian wolf. The flag never was officially recognized by any the Brezzian Republics, as the Brezzian pirates themselves, but its mere appearance in the distance makes the crews of capitalist sailing ships tremble with fear, to the point of often inducing them to surrender without even going into combat.

If a ship decides to resist boarding, the black Jolly Roger is lowered and the red version is hoisted, indicating that the conquest will take place without taking prisoners even in the event of a late surrender.

History

1st Republic

The Council Democratic Republic of Brezzia adopted its flag on 2016. The design of the 1st Brezzian Republics inspired Brezzia's flag. It presented a white central band representing the desire of peace of the Brezzian people, an upper red strip representing the down of new communist era and a lower green strip representing Brezzian nature. The flag was charged with a red star representing socialism and a grey wolf, the national animal of Brezzia.

2nd Republic

The Socialist Council Republic of Brezzia adopted a totally different flag on 2019. It had a white field representing peace, a red canton charged with hammer and sickle representing socialism and the union of all workers, an anchor between two stars and a sun in the upper right quarter representing Brezzia as port between the West and the East (and the new capital, Nova Sybaris), three sea waves in the lower half representing the southern Ocean of The Communist Bloc.

The SCR of Brezzia adopted specific jacks for the state (the canton of the national flag) and the civil fleet (the flag of Nova Sybaris). The most impotant institutions of the Socialist Council Republic adopted variations of these flags to represent themselves.

The SCR of Brezzia also adopted flags for the Army (inspired by the flag of the Guevara region), the Navy (inspired by the flag of the Republic of Venice)

3rd Republic

The Workers' Council Republic adopted a new flag similar to the CDR of Brezzia's flag on 2020. A white central band represented the desire of peace of the Brezzian people, two red stripes stylize the tracks of a railway and indicate Brezzia's progress towards communism, two smaller golden stripes represent the fruits of labor of the united working class. The Emblem of Brezzia represents the Brezzian State and the wolf represents the nature of the Brezzian Isles.

The WCR of Brezzia also had a variant flag charged with the Great Emblem of Brezzia (the Emblem between two wolves rampant). It was used by the Brezzian institutions to substitue the previous flags.

The WCR of Brezzia also introduced the "Brezzian red flag", a golden wolf passant in a red field with the Emblem of Brezzia in the canton, and a new jack with different proportion and two golden stripes, which are still in use.
