First, let’s get to the very root of this statement. Every nation will only continue to grow. This means that a nation’s population can be massive — in the billions. And there are many nations that have populations well over 30 billion.

This is pretty big.

Here’s the second part of the theory. It is heavily implied that each nation is its own island. One of the first banners you get is “New Around Here”. It’s the banner you get for founding a nation.

You might not be able to see the full thing here, but it shows a tropical island. Even more, the nationstates logo shows a city on an island. A tropical island no less.

The final nail on the coffin here is that the first region is the Pacific. The pacific in the real world is home to many island nations, many of which lie on the equator, making them tropical.

So what does this mean? Mixing a 46 billion population with islands is not a good idea. This could result in heavy overcrowding. And yes, there are issues that deal with border walls and refugees, you could just build the wall on the land because nobody, including refugees can survive with just a boat and supplies in an ocean. And that is why your nation may be overcrowded.
