You might be wondering, why should I care about doing what these dispatches tell me anyway? Here's your answer: fun. NationStates is a complex site with many different things to do and Carcassonne is one of, if not the best region to enjoy all aspects of it. We're one of the biggest, most successful frontiers you can choose from. We have raiding, worldbuilding, politics, community, and around a billion other things I'll leave for you to discover. So, where to start?

Citizenry

Becoming a citizen is probably the first thing to do. Even if you wanna just sit around and answer issues occasionally (boring) then you should probably follow the instructions here to defend our region against raider-induced political crisis (which would complicate your boring issue answering.) For those who actually want to see what Carcassonne has to offer, if you don't become a citizen, you will be cut off from almost all of our government and activities and will be weakening our delegate to that political crisis thingy from earlier.

Discord

We use a Discord server for big projects, roleplay, and pretty much everything else here. If you for what ever reason can't use Discord then rest assured Carcassonne is trying to branch out, but for right now, you pretty much gotta use it. Why join? Because it's ten times more active than the website.

Military, Ministries, and More

What is our government like? No, I'm not gonna explain our whole constitution, I'll give you a basic explanation of stuff new players can do.

1. Join the Grand Army! You can raid other regions in your free time and honor our awesome name, while breaking up regions of actual fascists and regions with names like Donut Empire 2010.

2. Interact with other regions by becoming an ambassador.

3. Become an all-powerful Minister, with absolutely no responsibilities in the slightest (by sucking up to me, or whoever the MP is!)

What the Hell is a "Car-kez-own?"

After all this jabbering you might feel overwhelmed or confused if you've never played before, but that's okay! This is an ancient forum website, it's practically designed to be confusing. All you need to do is take things one step at a time and in a few days you'll be chatting with new friends and controlling your own nation better than even me. Scratch that, I'm the best. You'll be controlling one very very well.
