Overview

I truly appreciate the positive feedback I've received thus far regarding this GOV.ALT project. Since it's inception, I've been inundated with requests for assistance with their own sites inspired nations. As time has gone by, I've offered some help where possible - and pointed out poor attempts of impersonation and replication by neredowells - but I've never been able to commit 100%.

This whole site is based on the real-world GOV.UK site designed and administrated by the UK government. I am in no way affiliated with that team, merely an admirer of their system's design and implementation. Web design is my passion and I am aiming to head into a career to suit this fetish of mine.

The purpose of this dispatch is to allow for members of the region The_Western_Isles to request a custom template for their nation, using the GOV 2.0 style. If this is something you'd be interested in, please read the guidance below and follow the request process.

Request Process

This section outlines how each user needs to complete the request process; what information is required, what needs to be provided and then what happens once the request is completed.

Each part of the request has its own specific requirements or guidelines. Please read the information below carefully in order to minimize the likelihood of a delayed or rejected application:

Nation Name/Title
This is the short and full name of your nation. For example: Altera; The United Commonwealths of Altera.

Government Department Name/Title
This is the short and full name of your government and/or the appropriate government department that would oversee the website's maintence. For example: United Commonwealths' Department of Information, Altera.

Site URL
This will be the root url (fictional) for the website; usually following the GOV.[NATIONAL WEB SUFFIX]. For example: GOV.ALT

Government Logo
This will be the government logo to be used in the header and, optionally, the footer of the website. Please supply a URL to the image; if you'd liked it cleaned up for the site, please do let me know. I will try to clean and resize where possible. For example: https://i.imgur.com/qEV8Rpf.png

Theme Colours
Two or three colours required to be used in the shading/colouring of the header and footers. If you're able to supply exact HEX/RGB colour codes, that is preferable. Otherwise, please supply a link to your flag or an image with the exact shades required. For example: (HEX) #000000 [Black], #364F62 [Alteran Blue], #FFFFFF [white]

Copy the text in the [code] section below, complete end send it to me in a telegram. I will endevour to respond within 7 days with either an acknowledgement, recommendation of edits, rejection or the completed code. Please keep in mind as this is a voluntary product by myself, it is in no way automatically accepted that you will get a code to use. I reserve the right to reject or suggest amendments to all and any requests.

Acceptance Policy

By requesting this code, you are accepting the following conditions:

‣ The header and footer many not be edited to remove reference to Horizon, Altera or any other IC link to its design and origin.

‣ The code is not to be replicated for other nations; whether your own, puppets or other nations.

‣ The code is not to be used for nations outside of The Western Isles region.

‣ I reserve the right to add your nation to the Hall of Shame should you not adhere to these rules, or I see that your use of the code is not "in the spirit" of its original use or purpose.

‣ You accept that, ICly, your nation's GOV website was designed and maintained in conjuction with Horizon Incorporated - an Alteran multi-national tech and data company.

‣ I will not provide code for the page's content - either as a template or your own content - merely the header and footer.

Request Form

To request, please copy and complete the code, sending it in a telegram to myself. I will endevour to respond within 7 days.

Tips and Hints

‣ Replace any titles marked with '##' with your own text. Remove '##' as appropriate

‣ Once you've posted the dispatch, open and re-edit the document and change any 'id=@@@@@@@' references to the id number of the dispatch; e.g. 'id=1824507'. Doing this will ensure all URL links and anchors will work correctly with minimal need to debug problems

‣ As above, open and re-edit the document and change any 'id=*******' references to the id number of either your homepage or index; e.g. 'id=1258195'. Doing this will ensure all URL links and anchors will work correctly with minimal need to debug problems
