Overview of the Mediterranean Union

The Mediterranean Union, a brand new region (literally), is a proposed to become an economic and political union between member states that are located primarily within the vicinity of the Mediterranean Basin (which includes part of Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East). This region will operate through a system of supranational institutions and inter-governmental decisions by member states much like the European Union does in real-life. The Mediterranean Union is loosely based on the Union for the Mediterranean which proposed the idea of an MU in real-life but dropped the proposal in response to calls by the EU for it to do so. With the latter in mind, the MU constitution is being written and the MU reaches out to the global community in the hope that some nations might see benefit in joining the union. There is also the development of a monetary union with the creation of the "Medi" currency which the Cypriot Territories has now adopted and hopes others may one day follow suit.

We hope to one-day become signatories of the United Regions Movement, and other treaties and organizations as our member state number increases. Join a new region.
