I have covid at the moment (thankfully, I've been improving since yesterday, although I wouldn't recommend getting this disease!) and despite my symptoms improving, a member of my family who is high risk is now showing symptoms and I'm very worried that I might have infected them. If you could pray for them to stay healthy, I would be incredibly grateful!

Peace and All Good!

I'm sorry I have not posted for over a lot of weeks because of School. This might happen when we come back to face to face, but as of the moment, I'll be enjoying myself writing the Daily as much as I can everyday.

Today is 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭
Today is a red day. Red not in the blood of the martyrs, but red in the fire and love of God infused by the Holy Spirit. Today is the 50th day (and seventh Sunday) from Easter Sunday. Today reminds us of the Holy Spirit that came down to the apostles first as a gust of wind, then in tongues of fire. And the apostles had the ability to speak in tongues, words which men of all nations are able to understand. Happy Birthday to everyone, as today is the Birthday of the Church!!

Let us begin today's Daily

In the name of the Father, ✠
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit,
𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗻.

God our loving Father,
grant us the grace
to hear what we ought to hear,
to see what we ought to see,
that we might do what we ought to do,
in Jesus' name we pray.
Amen.

𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲'𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 is from the Holy Gospel according to 𝕵𝖔𝖍𝖓 20:19-24
New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition NRSVACE

𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀
When it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and the doors of the house where the disciples had met were locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, ‘Peace be with you.’ After he said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.’ When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.’

𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀
But Thomas (who was called the Twin), one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.

𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: he breathed on them and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.

This is where I draw the line with the Catholic Faith and the Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox. I was having a hard time thinking about the filioque. It is controversial and it is a cause of separation of the Orthodox and Catholic and other Protestant Churches. I was thinking of a way to simplify everything that I have read about the filioque, the Latin, Alexandrian, and Cappadocian fathers, as well as the Doctors of the Church.

But I think there is one really simple explanation. We can imagine that God the Father is the Sun a source of Light and heat on earth, God the Son being the ray of light, consubstantial with the light of the Sun; "God from God, light from light, True God from True God," true light from true light. The Ray of Light, that is Jesus Christ, is consubstantial with the Eternal Energy of the Father because it is the Father that Begot the Son; the Sun that begot Light. But the Heat proceeding the Sun—melting away the coldness of winter, drying our clothes and etc—we can see that as proceeding from the Father.

By Science we know that Light and Heat are insep'rable forms of Energy. That energy is neither created nor destroyed. And we see a similarity in the Pseudo-Athanasian Creed it is stated that the Son is neither created but begotten, and the Holy Spirit is neither created nor begotten but proceeding. Such the Spirit, like heat from light. The heat proceed from the light, rather the energy which the light waves travel lets heat proceed from it. But the thought of the magnificence of the Sun is neither diminished by the Light, nor does the Heat diminish the Sun nor the Light. Because the Heat proceeding the Light, was begot by the nucleo-chemical reactions inside the Sun.

For like the trinity, the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit is one God. So too, Light, Heat, and Nuclear and Chemical forces is one Energy. For it is through the Father that the Son is light, it is also through the Father that the Holy Spirit is heat. And that the substance of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit is the same. So is energy as Light, the Heat, and Nuclear Fusion in the Sun is of one.

As God is Love, so the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit is love. The Holy Spirit is Love Active, the Son is Love Inspiring, and the Father Love Obliged. We could also see this as an allegory, especially today the Day of Pentecost. The Father, creator of all things and from whom all things exist. From Him Jesus the Son of Man and living Flesh-Word lights the way and teaches the path of salvation, and from the Father and through Jesus the Holy Spirit burns the hearts of the faithful to follow the path of Salvation.

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: My friends, I have always been fascinated by this reading after watching Tim Mackie's take on the Hebrew Word for wind, breath, or spirit which is רוח (ruach) /ˈʁu.ax/. In this reading we see Jesus breathing on them and letting them receive the Holy Spirit through His mouth. May we believe in the Filioque or not, Paul reminds us in the Galatians that Unity is a way of living in the spirit. Never cease praying, never cease loving. 𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And you shall renew the face of the earth.

O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy his consolations.

Through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Glory to the Father and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now,
and will be for ever. Amen.

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆, Mother of God, and our Mother. You are our example. Pray for us, who have strayed from the path. In you we see refuge and hope, being a woman of creation goodness. We put our trust in you, that our prayers may be heard by the Father through the Son [who with the Father and the Son is] in union with the Holy Spirit, living as one God forever.

Being with the Apostles in prayer in the Upper Room; and being the Mother of Jesus Christ, Head of the Church; Mary is venerated as Mother of the Church as she is rightfully, by grace, the Mother of the Vine and Its branches, the precursor of our Christian Faith. This title was solemnly confirmed by Pope Saint Paul VI on November 21, 1964 during the Vatican II.

Let us begin today's Daily

In the name of the Father, ✠

𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲'𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 is from the Book of 𝕯𝖊𝖚𝖙𝖊𝖗𝖔𝖓𝖔𝖒𝐲 6:1-9
New International Version - UK (NIVUK)

𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗚𝗼𝗱
These are the commands, decrees and laws the Lᴏʀᴅ your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the Lᴏʀᴅ your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life. Hear, Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the Lᴏʀᴅ, the God of your ancestors, promised you.

Hear, O Israel: the Lᴏʀᴅ our God, the Lᴏʀᴅ is one. Love the Lᴏʀᴅ your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door-frames of your houses and on your gates.

𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: the Lᴏʀᴅ our God, the Lᴏʀᴅ is one.

Now I have discoursed yesterday, the filioque. Now to address the non-trinitarian belief. How could God be one, if he is three persons? Equally undivided, truly one in substance, but why three persons? Likewise we established that the Father is separate from the Son, and the Holy Spirit, how can we imagine one being?

Many famous saints that we revere today have spoken about this. The famous three-leaved clover by Saint Patrick he used to describe the trinity. Where the trinity is described as having three leaves but one plant. More so do we find our Pope Francis describing the trinity with a fidget spinner, where it has three of those things, but when spun they are one. Still by faith we are called not to question mysteries, but to admire. But by human iniquity, we find it hard to understand in our own little way.

I think about how Jesus is the ikon of the Trinity. His very being, evokes the trinity. He is by himself the Son, where the Father is His Father, and born by the Holy Spirit. Yet we do not see three Jesus-es but one Jesus. So maybe we could think of it like that. And Mary, the most special of all humans having been closest to the trinity, being the mother of the Son, the spouse of the Holy Spirit, and the handmaid of the Father. But Mary is still not three, but one. So maybe instead of a concrete description of Three in One, like coffee, I read that Saint Thomas and other Church Fathers and Doctors state that the Unity of Trinity (aside from exceeding man's understanding) is their relation to one another.

Tim Mackie shares this idea, that God isn't a one being, but their unity of Love/Charity is God. I am not a perfect theologian or philosopher. I'm sure the Saints have it better than me, but as we remember today, Mary through the Trinity and the Trinity through Mary, and the Love that exists everywhere, and the joys of hevae above, maybe we don't need explanations instead faith like that in the Annunciation.

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: The trinity is a continuing mystery, but by Faith we love, adore, believe, and glorify. Let us look at each and everyone, maybe like the persons of the trinity, treat each other with kindness and charity, and unite ourselves with them with God. 𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲.

Alleluia, Mary is the Mother of our Lord, and Mother of the Church Alleluia.

Come Holy Spirit,
forgive us on our obstinacy,
unite our destroyed relations with one another,
and infuse in us Your gifts of virtue,
especially that of Love.
Live in us, as to not be separated from the Father and the Son.

Joel foretells the Holy Spirit (Joel 2:28-29)
Daily Readings, Ho̔milíes, and Prayers - 06072022 - Theme: Creed — who has spoken through the prophets.

Peace and All Good!

Today is Ordinary Time (II) again. Actually, yesterday was the start of Ordinary Time II, but today there isn't that much solemnities, feasts, memorials, optional memorials, so we're back to green. Every thirdday or Tuesday, in a special way, we show our devotion to the Holy Angels, especially, our very own Guardian Angel.

Let us begin today's Daily

In the name of the Father, ✠
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit,
𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗻.

God our loving Father,
grant us the grace
to hear what we ought to hear,
to see what we ought to see,
that we might do what we ought to do,
in Jesus' name we pray.
Amen.

𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲'𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 is from the Book of the Prophet 𝕸𝖆𝖑𝖆𝖈𝖍𝖎 1:1-5
New International Version - UK (NIVUK)

A prophecy: the word of the Lord to Israel through Malachi.

𝐈𝐬𝐫𝐚𝐞𝐥 𝐝𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐭𝐬 𝐆𝐨𝐝’𝐬 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞
‘I have loved you,’ says the Lord.

‘But you ask, “How have you loved us?”

‘Was not Esau Jacob’s brother?’ declares the Lord. ‘Yet I have loved Jacob, but Esau I have hated, and I have turned his hill country into a wasteland and left his inheritance to the desert jackals.’

Edom may say, ‘Though we have been crushed, we will rebuild the ruins.’

But this is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘They may build, but I will demolish. They will be called the Wicked Land, a people always under the wrath of the Lord. You will see it with your own eyes and say, “Great is the Lord – even beyond the borders of Israel!”

𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: They may build, but I will demolish.

We went all round today, so that I could go to confession. My father drove me around three churches, not one of them have a priest available. One, I was late and the confessor was not available. Two, the confessors are scheduled 𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘮. Three, the confessor was in a province, and the next confession will be at 7pm. At the third parish office that I inquired, Saint Thérèse of Lisieux was standing, encased in glass. So I prayed, and thought, maybe it is not the will of the Father yet. I mean I was disheartened, but if it is not the will, it is not the will.

So I guess the readings teaches us, what the will of God is towards Edom. I think of it as a way that what was deemed evil by the Lord is evil. We cannot go on making evil good, because it is by definition evil. And vice versa. But how do we know what God judges, what God wills, or what God admonishes?

I guess one is through superiors. This is according to the evangelical counsels. For things we cannot control, everyone would give advice or admonish faults, by humility we are subject to them and we must follow them as if it was God's will. So we must be humble, obey, and love. I believe that we are slaves to Christ, and Christ is everywhere and everyone, if we see correctly and lovingly.

Another one is through inner feelings. I remember reading about discernment, and Saint Ignatius of Loyola emphasized one's heart or emotion towards something. The spirit lives in us, and we are given the gift to know. By a mystical sensation, we understand what is good or evil.

Third that I find powerful is through prayer and mystical visions and signs. Prayer is the most powerful object, as it is the communication between God and Man. We receive Christ through communion, but we enrich the fullness of our relationship through communicating one's heart, desires, experiences of the day.

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: I believe that we are troubled, and God who is powerful will shed light to us.

I pray, o Lord that You would
shed light to our troubled minds,
and bring warmth to those in the cold.
Deliver us from every temptation,
and make us feel Your peace.
We know nothing and we can be ignorant sometimes.
You who: know, knew, and will know, everything
I ask that You guide us with the spirit of Wisdom, Counsel, and Knowledge,
that it may perfect our virtues, especially that of Prudence.

Angel of God, My guardian Dear,
To whom God's love entrusts me here,
Ever this "day" (or "night" if you say it at bedtime),
Be at my Side,
To light and guard,
To rule and guide.
From sinful stain o keep me free
and at death's hour my helper be.
Amen.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

In the name of the Father, ✠
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit,

The Kaisertum of Austrin

I love how no formal debate has been held on whether we need these new assembly rules or whether they would be a good idea. I personally think that if we were a funded organisation of exclusive individuals then it would be perfect. However as we are a simple region of extremely diverse opinions and backgrounds the lack of any rules is one less barrier to entry for everyone be it newcomers, active or inactive members. I have read the proposal and it is all sensible however I think we don’t need or want any more bureaucracy especially in the most used forum of communication. Many regions cease to function because they have a rule for everything.

I appreciate your opinion. I think this is an opportunity to explain why the rules are needed. (Please forgive my lack of organization in the following points)

I personally find the Assembly as a perfect format for NS, but without some sort of ruling structure, a lower house is not needed. The Constitution outlines two distinct houses and from a newer perspective, it looks like virtually everything comes from the Elders and basically the Assembly acts as a referendum of the public. I’m not saying this as a knock on the Elders nor previous members of the Assembly, but simply how it appears. The goal is to make the Assembly an active player in the process instead of a passive reactor.

The rules provide a debate debate period. My biggest issue with most NS regions is that there is no time to debate the issue. It’s simply a thumbs up or down. It allows no input nor constructive criticism. I think it’s important that the questions you ask be discussed.

While committees may seem like bureaucracy, they in fact create opportunities for members to be involved in our government if they are new or just want a lighter role. This provides an inlet to involving members to an elevated role quickly. Additionally, it allows a formal way to ensure all viewpoints can be considered when debating a bill.

The rules don’t create a barrier to entry (as I see it). While we absolutely should be cautious of the fact, the person who has no desire to be involved or learn the way of our government can simply do things as they do now, which is simply voting yes or no on the issues.

In general, these parliamentary rules are meant to easily be amended or suspended and have a shelf life of only a year. If the rules are seen to be ineffective at boosting participation or negatively impacting the Assembly or Region, I will be the first to ask for the termination of them.

The Kaisertum of Austrin

Gideon honestly I am active nearly every day on my phone so I have no trouble with these proposals personally. However I am thinking of members who are solely based via computers and who maybe spend half and hour a week on NS mainly on their issues in this region. The last thing I would want is to find out that all the main choices and discussion where it matters is taken out of my hands and given to a committee of what I can already foresee as being labelled the “usual suspects” of the most active members. In my book simple is best and if it is t broken then it doesn’t need replacing.

On the other hand I wish to reiterate that you intentions and goals are indeed honourable and desirable but I confess that we do differ when it comes to how we would approach such a goal.

I will be silent now and allow anyone else who wishes to express concern with this new policy initiative to come forward.

Daily Readings, Ho̔milíes, and Prayers - 06072022 - Theme: Creed — I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.

Today is 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝟏𝟎 𝐢𝐧 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 (𝐈𝐈)
Ordinary time uses the colour of green, the colour of freshness and growth, the colour of plant life. Ordinary time we come back to the teachings of Jesus on what being ordinary Christian means. The sermons on the mount and plains are normally the readings, as well as the parables. This is a time when we are neither waiting in joyful anticipation (advent), single-mindedly penitent (as lent), overwhelmingly joyful (Pascha or Christmas).

Let us begin today's Daily

In the name of the Father, ✠
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit,
𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗻.

God our loving Father,
grant us the grace
to hear what we ought to hear,
to see what we ought to see,
that we might do what we ought to do,
in Jesus' name we pray.
Amen.

𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲'𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 is from the Book of the Apostles' 𝐀𝖈𝖙𝖘 17:19-23
New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition (NRSVUE)

So they took him and brought him to the Areopagus and asked him, “May we know what this new teaching is that you are presenting? It sounds rather strange to us, so we would like to know what it means.” Now all the Athenians and the foreigners living there would spend their time in nothing but telling or hearing something new.

Then Paul stood in front of the Areopagus and said, “Athenians, I see how extremely spiritual you are in every way. For as I went through the city and looked carefully at the objects of your worship, I found among them an altar with the inscription, ‘To an unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you.

𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: this I proclaim to you

Evangelisms and Proselytism are similar terms that means calling a non-member to become a member. Though they are parallel to each other, one is not congruent to the other. This is because, Evangelism or Evangelization is more than attempting or forcing to switch beliefs, it is about being a witness to the Gospel. We are called to Evangelize and not to Proselytize, and people mix these terms up sometimes.

I watched a video of Venerable Bishop Fulton J. Sheen. He relates perfect truth as a circle. He says, and I quote him verbatim, "now we are to think that every religion under the sun having something good." I really love this explanation because Ven. Sheen does not deny that, even a newly created religion in L.A. this afternoon has no good; even Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism have good in them. In our religion, Christianity, whether we adhere to the Nicene creed, or the Book of Concord or the Orthodox Faith, we are one under the sun, under the God who created us.

We are, no matter of what denomination, are called to be One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic, Church. One, united in our God and the life of Peace and Charity/Love. Holy, as our God is Holy so we strive Holiness and Saintly lives. Catholic, all embracing, universal, just as our Impartial God. Apostolic, witnesses of the faith, baptizing and forgiving the sins of every one in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Now today's reading tells a story of Paul, but Paul does not deny the good in the Greek myths. Paul admired them for their piety, though it is strange to him. And what is brilliant in this is that, the spirit readied the hearts of those who hear, and everyone who heard was struck though still confused, but with an open mind. So Paul sowed the hearts that were ripened, and went to proclaim the love of God. If you would continue reading, Paul would go on to say, ‘For we, too, are his offspring.’

Let us go, therefore, to those who do not know God, because God knows them. Their hearts are ready and do not be disheartened by their stubbornness, God will work out their hearts, God will do everything according to His will of love and mercy.

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: To live in the spirit, Paul also tells us to be united. The schism and the reformation gives a big blow to the Spirit of God. 𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲.

Lord, holy Father, faithful to your promise
you sent your Spirit to bring together a people divided by sin.
Give us the grace to foster unity
and peace among men.

𝗧𝗼 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗢 𝗕𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗵, we have recourse to You too. For having the honour of being joined to the hearts of Mary and Jesus, we know that Your intercession is powerful too. Hear our prayers and protect us with Saint Michael the Archangel. For You are regarded as the Protector of the Church as once You have protected Jesus from mortal danger of Herod. Intercede for us, and by sacred trust, faith, and hope in You, we know that our prayers are heard with the Blessed Mother Your spouse. Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

In the name of the Father, ✠
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit,
𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗻.
