Imagine how cool it would be if they let you keep body parts they removed during surgery.

I long for the day I can get my stupid dumb awful horrible useless self-destructing internal organ and her friends removed but I wanna preserve them in jars as a warning to the rest of my body to behave and be useful to me

If you ask, certain doctors might let you. Ive heard of plenty of people getting organs, growths, and other objects removed from their body and they were allowed to keep it.

Fire alarms have gone off at 1AM and 330AM tonight so far, I'm reluctant to take off the alarm and keep it off but at this point I'm not sure what else to do. This city hasn't even been hit as badly as Texas, these issues are specific to this one apartment building. I pay too much rent for this, I'm either paying a hundred less or moving some here with a better pool.

There is no communist government in Nepal. At this point, I am sure the parties only call themselves such to curry favor with China and present themselves as "anti-India" (even though it's common knowledge most of these communist leaders were sheltered and funded by India during the civil war and are still under Indian influence...the only ones who are still blind to this fact are Indian people online when even their government and intelligence agency have accepted that many Nepali Maoists and Marxist-Leninists were funded and sheltered by India in past).

The current PM is someone who rides on populist waves (says one sh!t in morning and another sh!t in evening) and plays the religion card for votes (although not as much as his Indian counterpart). None of the "communist" leaders here actually do communist stuff except for making new parties and accusing the others of being "revisionists". There is virtually zero difference between the policies of the several dozen communist parties, the Nepali Congress, the Hindu nationalist monarchists and the various fringe ethno-nationalist parties who also call themselves socialists. Most of the lower-level "karyakartas" of all parties do not even know what their party's ideology is and run populist speeches and are there only for "masu bhat".

"Communist" is a fancy tag and Nepali people eat up that stuff up; maybe because the united communists in the past ended the Shah monarchy, made Nepal a secular state, brought multi-party democracy, gave equal rights to everyone, abolished slavery, made caste system illegal, introduced federalism, lowered the crime rates and etc. Every non-"communist" party of Nepal identifies as some form of socialist. In Nepal, we have even the centrist neoliberal Nepali Congress, Hindu nationalists, monarchists and Islamist politicians calling themselves "socialists" because that's the tag that will get them votes in this country.

The weekly report is here:

Every month, the office selects a dispatch posted within the month that it has deemed exceptionally unique, creative and informative and deserves the recognition it needs. The dispatch is then featured here, as part of our Dispatch of the Month program. As long as the original author of the dispatch is in this region and exists on our Regional Map, the dispatch meets our requirements for the program.

Is there a dispatch you know that you feel is worthy of the award? If so, please do not hesitate to inform our Officer of Recognition - the official organizer of the program - of it. The office very much appreciates such nominations, as we are unable to keep track of every dispatch within the region.

About the Dispatch of the Month

The Dispatch of the Month is a program launched and run by the Office of Information. As stated before, the program involves the office featuring a dispatch it likes and feels the need to commend. The program was done in order to stimulate regional activity, encourage creativity, improve writing skills, and boost the overall nationbuilding quality.

The following requirements need to be met in order for a dispatch to be eligible for nomination:

  • Author must be in the region and regional map

  • Dispatch will have to be posted within the month

We determine the Dispatch of the Month results through a number of criteria. Each are worth 10 points, and the highest total score you can achieve is 40. The criteria are:

  • Uniqueness: What makes it different from other dispatches and nominees.

  • Creativity: How original and creative the dispatch itself is.

  • Visual Appealingness: How appealing the dispatch is.

  • Information: How informative the dispatch is.

You can also nominate any dispatch (yes, even yours) so long that it meets our guidelines. This greatly helps us reach a larger number of dispatches and possible nominees. However, only the dispatch with the highest total points based off our criteria will claim the title of Dispatch of the Month.

The "but they're communist tho" mistake is one I also see thrown at China a lot, and I've never understood it.

The real reason that China is dangerous isn't because they are "Soviet Union 2.0", it's because they're "America 2.0 feat. an Orwellian Surveillance State and a Dangerous Disregard for the Oncoming Climate Crisis". The People's Republic honestly has most of the same problems as modern America: systemic Islamophobia, international interventionism that goes nowhere, police brutality, rampant bureaucratic corruption, and military overspending that starts unnecessary arms races. Also, they're the only nation on earth that I know of that supports Pakistan, which is definitely not a good sign.

Seriously, the best way to describe the modern PRC is as an authoritarian, ultracapitalist hellscape wearing the flayed skin of Maoism as a fashion statement.

The fascinating thing about the TWI for me is the sheer amount of creativity and effort we all put into making our nations unique. Each and every one of you has thrown in a shred of your own being into this and created a plane of our universe that is simply immaculate.

Due to my own intrigue, I have decided that it would be INCREDIBLE to see all of your nation's most intricate and personal bits that make them what they are.

All nations have folklore, all nations have legends. Be it the Viking Sagas or the American Pioneers. Or tales of a great legendarium like King Arthur, or monsters like the Naga, Loch Ness, or a Yowie. Share YOUR creative legends, myths and folklore tales, sagas and histories! We'd all love to hear it :)

The Well of Custu̦rdo

In the mountains near the road between de towns of Sonws and Phezuch, in the province of Western Ta̦rleqh, there is a village called Custu̦rdo; it has been abandoned since before 1900, because nobody dares to come in the vicinity of its well.

The story goes that a local shepherd girl attracted the attention of the blacksmith’s son, who desired to marry her. Whereas she however was very beautiful, he was not quite so, and not having any other wealth of his own, his prospects of the girl’s parents accepting him as the husband of their daughter’s were far from excellent.

One day, his friends told him that the girl had mentioned that she cared for him and that she would not oppose marrying him. He went to the town and with the last of his money purchased a gemstone. Upon his return, he asked his father to create a ring to fit around the stone. He was told the girl was herding her sheep near the village well so thither he went, and on his knees asked her to marry him.

But the girl knew not of the intentions of the blacksmith’s son, as what his friends had told him was a just prank, and she refused. Disappointed and upset, he returned to the village where he found that many people were aware of his recent misfortune.

That night, he returned to the well and jumped in with a heavy stone around his neck.

In the weeks that followed, mysterious accidents started to happen to the villagers who laughed. At first, some more people fell in the well and drowned but soon the events spread further than its direct vicinity. It is said that one man slipped and drowned while fishing at the brook, a woman choked and died while she drank water, a third drowned while taking a bath, and the blacksmith’s son’s friends, who pulled the prank on him, were beaten to death by an unnaturally strong rain shower that also destroyed a large part of the village. Many left the village and the ones who stayed either died as well or were chased away as strange things continued to happen. Within one year, the village was empty.

Rumours that approaching the village and especially its well will cause certain death slowly established in the region. Years later, reports of people going missing in the area are not followed up by the police and one neighbouring village even barricaded the road to Custu̦rdo.
