About Athara Magarat and the Western Isles (Main Article)

Athara Magarat and the Western Isles (Portuguese: "Atara Magarate e Seus Amigos") is an anime from Athara magarat by the AMnimation company. The series represent political and historic events and culture comparisons between countries in the Western Isles, that form part of each character's personality.

AMnimation aired the popular AM-anime series on January 8th, 2010. In Dragão do Mar the anime translation is made by Cia. Marquinhos Dublagens e Som company, and the broadcasting by JangadeiroTV and O Povo channels.

"The character roster is large and far from complete, but the main cast is primarily Athara Magarat and her allies. The main storyline's events occur during like a family drama, but the vast majority of the AM-anime takes place during historical events, modern holidays, or at no specific time whatsoever. The series often uses satire and light-hearted comedy to reinterpret well-known events as well as less common historical and cultural trivia. Historical, political, economic, and military interaction between countries is generally represented in Athara Magarat and the Western Isles as social interactions and misunderstandings between the characters".

Dragao is a impulsive, generous boy with a friendly, honest nature. Some can see Dragao as rude or audacious, but that's a wrong vision. In fact, Dragao do Mar is a kind and fair friend that treats everyone with the same respect and affection.

History

Dragao do Mar was born in January 16 of 1823, but other character from Athara Magara met a different character from this region many years ago, in the Age of Empires. These histories are normally tell in OVAs from the series.

Tabajara:

From 200 to 1123, the character from the region of the non-existing Dragão do Mar was called Tabajara. Tabajara represents the dominating state in this period, the Tabajara Empire, a nation of developed indigenous peoples, with some advanced technologies for that time, but continuing primitives.

The Tabajara appeared in a OVA that show the landing of the character from Athara Magarat in the same period, the Khas-Kirat, that arrive the land of Tabajara in 1122. After disagreements in this year, Khas-Kirat and Tabajara fought, but the next part is censored.

The Tabajaran character is a boy with a indigenous red-brown skin tone, black eyes and hair. He wears clothes made of alligator leather and a helmet made of a head of a alligator representing the Jaekaré warriors from the Tabajara Empire. He carry a Arapuá, a long hard wooden baton with sharp small rock shards in the sides and a wooden shield coated with alligator leather.
