It’s like a table - if you go east from Australia and New Zealand, you just fall off the edge.

You may notice Belac has a new motto: Fidit i Belífit. This is Belacian for Loyalty and Faith, two of our core values in Belac.

Soooooooooooooo.................. I have given some thought to making the Assembly representative and have remembered why I didn't do it in the first place; basically it is a pain in the *ss to try and legislate for. Here is my attempt - and I am very open to suggestions that guarantee we meet the seven nations required etc etc. We will only know how effective it is the next time we do an Assembly election. We may wish to legislate an early election to test it?

    1) The Need for Representation In Democracy
      a) Representation allows for minorities and smaller parties to have an outlet for their interests
      b) Scrutiny against the ruling cabinet is more effective
      c) Voter interests are better protected

    2) Methodology of Representation in the Assembly

      a) Any registered party must announce the candidates that would represent them in the Assembly (up to seven candidates)
      b) Assembly seats will be awarded proportionally to the result of the election (vote percentage of the seven seats, then rounded to the nearest whole number)
      c) Independent Candidates may not stand, as they would self-enforce a peak of 1 seat for that candidate
      d) If a party can not provide enough MPs for their voter share, the party leader must either:
        i) Allow a new member into the party or
ii) "gift" the votes to a party of their choice

      3) Context of Triumvirate System

        a) This method will replace the non-partisan nature of the Assembly
        b) The Assembly will retain all of its current functions

my only little thing, I do understand it is a draft but is MPs the right term for the representatives? or would it be representatives? as it is an assembly not a Parliament.

We refer to them as MPs in our assembly - as our assembly is essentially also our parliament. The only difference between those two words is that Parliament refers to a Westminster-style form of legislature. We may consider changing our MPs to MAs (Member of Assembly)... but this can be a legislation for the near future *shrug*

To be honest I like the assembly as it is, the independent nature is nice and will mean less Pairti Cle domination.

understood - but this idea was floated by other parties and supported broadly to make our democracy fairer - and tbh the non-partisan thing wasn't working too well (similarly to when they tried that in the USSR....)
