The People's Confederation of Ci Arovannea ⤆ ⤇ ↺ ☖ | Search: https://krionik.gov/culture/religion . ........The Kingdom of the Krionik . ................................"Hope for peace, prepare for war, act with honor" . ........Summary: The state religion of the Krionik as a whole is the Trostrukai faith, an ancient religion originating from the Belska-Ouresian region. The faith is largely centered around the worship of the worship of a trinity of Gods, from which the states of Oured, Zastava, and Mylos derive their names. The faith has been practiced in one form or another since time immemorial, and is deeply tied to the culture of the region, and as the Confederation was formed, bringing ever more realms under the influence of Belska, the faith spread with it, largely supplanting the local religions practiced by those Duchies under the rule of the Confederal Crown. Ever since the mid 1400's, the faith and the Realm have been inextricably linked, as every monarch since has been crowned as both King of the Confederation of 12 Realms, and anointed as First Vailida of the Trostrukai Faith. However, ever since the disappearance of the Lost King, the Faith has been in a state of flux, as the High Priests of the Faith and the Council of Lords attempt to assert their own influence in the Vaidila's absence... Principal Deities Oured Titles: The Holy Lady, Bringer of Light and Honor Description: Oured is depicted as a beautiful young woman with tanned skin, clad in an ornate suit of silver armor. The armor, which covers her body from the neck down, is inlaid with intricate gold patterns and engravings, symbolizing the various aspects which she represents. In addition to this, a cape of pure white is draped over her right shoulder, representing purity. In her right hand she holds a sword-spear, which is just as ornate as the armor she wears. In her left hand, she carries a scroll which is said to record the honor of every soul on Valsora, and is what determines one's place in the Hall of Heroes, or even whether someone is to be Damned. Traditionally she is depicted as being accompanied by a falcon, which are said to be her messengers to the world below. Easily the most recognizable aspects of her appearance are her hair and her eyes. Her hair is a pure white, reaching down to her shoulders. Her eyes meanwhile, are covered by a golden cloth, leaving one piercing purple eye uncovered. Oured is the chief goddess of the Krionik in all but name, representing the honor and pride which is so central to the nation's cultural identity. Even among non-Trostrukaites, She is widely regarded as a patriotic symbol, the very personification of the Krionik. While she may not officially be any more important than Zasta or Mylia, it is a widely accepted belief that she is the most senior of the Gods. Perhaps as a result of this, the High Priestess of Oured has assumed a similarly unofficial leadership role in the Priesthood since the disappearance of the Lost King. In the religious scripture, Oured is often shown to consider the people of the Krionik as her "Holy Army", those who defend her faith on Valsora. As such, any adherent of the Trostrukai faith may officially be referred to as a "Knight of the Faith," though it's generally frowned upon for one to do so without having been officially knighted. While Oured is generally shown as showing a certain faint warmness to her faithfull, she is generally cold and detached from the mortal world. Worship of Oured is generally characterized by individual meditation in isolated environments. Interpretation of her messages are generally made by observing birds, specifically falcons, as they fly. Zasta Titles: The Lady of the Blade, Bearer of the Stigmata IMAGE Description: Zasta is depicted as a youthful woman with alabaster skin and brown hair which has been roughly cut short. She wears a full set of plate mail armor from her head down, although unlike Oured’s armor, hers is a simple undecorated set of steel armor, covered in the dents and scratches of battle. She wears a full length green cape, although much like the armor, it too has been torn to tatters by battle. In most art, she is shown wielding an arming sword in her right hand, with a battered heater shield slung over her back. Much like Oured is accompanied by her falcons, Zasta is traditionally accompanied by a red fox, which is also supposedly how she manifests on Valsora. Easily the most recognizable aspect of Zasta, even amongst the non-faithful, is how brutal depictions of her tend to be. As Zasta is the Goddess of Duty and Self-Sacrifice, she is traditionally depicted as bearing a variety of gruesome injuries. She is consistently shown with a deep scar over her left eye, but different artists add different injuries. These can range from small cuts, to deep scars, even missing fingers. In this way, no two depictions of the Goddess are the same. Zasta is an incredibly popular goddess within the military, but outside of Columbia she is easily the least worshiped Goddess of the Triumvirate. This is largely due to her characterization as emotionless and cold, as well as other cultures not placing the same importance that the Columbian culture places on service. Traditional worship of Zasta consists of large scale group prayer, emphasizing the communal attitude that can be found in the military. Auguries to interpret her messages generally involve animal sacrifice in order to read their entrails. Although it is no longer common practice, worship once included self-mutilation in order to grow closer to her. As this has fallen out of style, it has been replaced in some circles by tying red bands of cloth around the arms to simulate the ritual injuries. Mylia Titles: The Lady of Life & Death, She Who Walked the Edge Description: Mylia, the last and most curious of the Three Gods. Mylia can best be summarized by simply stating that she is a long list of contradictions that have been melted down and forged into the rough approximation of a God. Mylia is both one and two beings, both young and old, beautiful and hideous. But most importantly, she is both Life and Death. WIP. Mylia is the last of the three Chief Goddesses of the Trostrukai Faith, originating from the island region of Mylos. She is traditionally depicted in one of two ways, representing the two aspects of the goddess. The first aspect is Mylia-Život. Mylia-Život is depicted as a young girl, no more than 15 years of age, with long brown hair and yellow eyes. As Mylia-Život, she wears a yellow sundress and generally either goes barefoot or wears sandals. In addition she has a lilac, symbolizing youth, tucked behind her right ear. In her right hand she holds a sceptre, and in her left she holds a rose, the stem of which extends and wraps along her arm. The animal which represents her is a small brown rabbit which often is shown perched on her shoulder, representing her innocence. Her other aspect is Mylia-Propadanje. As Mylia-Propadanje she takes the form of an elderly woman, dressed in traditional Columbian funeral attire. Namely, she wears long flowing robes of black, with a traditional honor scarf which tells the story of a child's journey into adulthood and eventually, their death. In this form, the lilac is replaced with a marigold, representing despair and death. She carries with her no particular implements or symbols, and her hands are pressed together as if in prayer. She is accompanied by a crow, who herald her coming to Valsora. Mylia's split appearance is largely a result of the fact that the two aspects she represents are diametrically opposed. Namely, Mylia represents both life and death in all of their forms. As a result, Mylia is a very far reaching goddess, governing many things. This includes life with regards to crops and life, as well as death with regards to disease and natural disasters. While there are additional gods which specifically relate to these issues, Mylia is generally seen as their superior. Prayer to Mylia is characterized by music, with almost every prayer to the goddess being written as a chant or hymn. Mylia is seen as unpredictable and unknowable, with no formalized study of auguries for her.
