History of Diplomatic Relations between Atrocha and Malvekia

Trade between Atrocha and Malvekia has been recorded since at least the second half of the 16th century. In 1592, a Malvekian named Girome Larcussi founded the Larcussi Bank in the town of Villa del Norte, when Atrocha was just being colonized. The Larcussi Bank building, with its Renaissance architecture, is now the home of the Malvek-Atrochan Community Museum.

During the Early Modern Age, the Malvek Empire, a vassal archipelago state under the control of the King of Altusia, and Atrocha, a trading colony in southern Solitas, also under Altusia control, traded extensively with each other. Palm was a highly sought-after commodity, and the minerals Atrocha sold were used in Malvekia for its architecture. In 1814, under the consent of the Cortes meeting at Santa Defensa, the Malvek Empire and the Province of Atrocha entered into a special trade partnership, the aim of which was to endure even if Altusia, which was the power that united them, collapsed.
