Hello, my fellow Thaecians. This month, I am eager and prepared to serve you for the common good of our region. It may be a long time that I am not involved in politics since the time that I left the region in disgrace. However, I would prove myself to all of you that I would try my best to discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter and I will not fail you all.
I'm running for the House of Commons of Thaecian Congress as an independent candidate.
PLATFORMS
• Proposition of reforms to the Military Commission Act -Congress should not be informed about the operations that will be conducted and managed by the Executive because it violates the operation secrecy. In this manner, no one from the regional government would ever leak or pass information to the enemy, and that the Executive should be trusted to conduct operations in the betterment of the region
• Respecting the Executive to carry out its responsibilities and govern the way it finds the best -Congress should not interfere in what the Executive should do by passing laws that would direct them to execute the duties, functions, responsibilities, and activities that were dictated by Congress, to respect the separation of powers.
• Supporting for the reduction of the Congress, to improve the overall quality of the Congress and ensure competitive elections -It is imperative that Congress should reduce its membership because the active population of Thaecia is around 40 to 50 and having one-fourths of the people in the Congress doesn't ensure a competitive Congress, which may invite inactivity and reduce quality.
• Supporting for the amendment of the citizenship system to make it easier for the military personnel to participate while retaining their citizenship -It would be best for those in the military to not have a concern or worry about their status as a citizen while serving in the military for the security and order of Thaecia.
CONCLUSION
I might have made numerous mistakes and failures in my life as a politician, but I have decided to learn from them and improve myself to become a competent and responsible public servant. So vote me, vote new, vote fresh, vote Peabodia!

This month, your update staff has ventured down to newly appointed Chief Executive Hakketomat's lair to ask him a few questions.
Porflox: Let's start off with how you discovered XKI. Was there a particular reason you decided to come here?
Hakke: I discovered XKI when I received a recruitment telegram. Can't say from whom, since it's disputed. Aersoldorf is very certain that he sent me one while I'm certain I got it from Cerb. I liked the telegram from XKI the best, although that's also a foggy reason since I don't really know what exactly made me choose XKI. I think I took a look at the region and its size. The mentioning of TITO also interested me. But then, I wasn't too interested in joining TITO when I first arrived
Porflox: What prompted you to start getting more active in regional affairs then?
Hakke: A change came about when non-TITO citizens of XKI were asked to take part in the Lazarus mission of 2015. I joined in and I've mainly kept to TITO until Dominion of Compassion asked me to become his deputy senator. This was a few months prior to my first successful senator running in January 2017. Markanite interested me in joining The Islands Party and helped me run for a seat on the Co9.
Porflox: How many years have you been in XKI, and is there someone in particular who helped you through your time?
Hakke: I've been in XKI for as long as I've been on NS, a bit more than 6 years. At first when I joined the forum, Ardreas was assigned as a buddy to me so he introduced me about here and there. The forum seemed overwhelming, but once I inserted myself into the culture of Taco Island I built a friendship with Aersoldorf. Aersoldorf is perhaps one of my closest friends in XKI along with Markanite and Woonsocket. Mark got me fully introduced to the political system. I worked closely with Woon when he was CE. While Aersoldorf has been close to me, I can't forget Ater Nox either. He has also helped me in getting settled in Taco Island. That is just the civilian side of my time in XKI. In TITO, it has always been Kanta Hame who has been central. He is the first one I met when I attended update for the first time. He also was appointed Tactical Officer shortly afterwards and so, he would lead me into missions. During my time in TITO, I started eyeing up the Executive Officer position which was held by Louisistan as well as Barry. When I was appointed Executive Officer, I of course sought Louisistan's input whenever I needed some advice. Louis was my inspiration for that role. Since then, TITO Command has been the pillar of my existence in XKI and TITO. So yeah, I can't say that I have anyone in particular.
Porflox: Now that you've been appointed CE, what are some things you want to get done?
Hakke: My goals for XKI is to have silver cities and statues built in my honour! All school students will do the pledge of allegiance to both XKI and me every morning! XKI will also become a vampire haven!
Porflox:Well on that note, thanks for the interview! I'm sure XKI will flourish under your silver and vampiric oversight.
Hakke: You are very welcome!
Until next month, your XKI Update Staff is signing off!
Oh damn best of luck with that xD Btw, do you have discord / are you able to get it? Most of our communication as a region happens on our discord server!
Given the fact that politics are a big thing here, I would like to see the candidate proposals for this months elections. I am still working on the HoC/Senate military oversight issue, but I feel like taking a look at this month's elections wouldn't hurt.
Hello Thaecians! I've collected my brain cells and put together a campaign dispatch. Please read through it if you think the region needs more burbger!
Hi fellow Thaecians, and any others with the misfortune of stumbling upon this. Requelizza here, gonna say some big complicated words, so watch out if you're faint of heart!
My real story began about a year ago when I picked up my NS nation again after over two years of forgetting about it. I decided I wanted to take it from the corrupted, black market-run state it was in to something... more reminiscent of a utopia at least. I don't remember how I ended up joining Thaecia exactly, but it was probably through a recruitment telegram. Not that it mattered then, as I was just focused on fixing my nation and didn't care to read the RMB. I kept getting these telegrams about elections and voting but never thought anything of it. I would perhaps occasionally post something dumb like burbger in the RMB, as strange behaviour like that is in my nature, but that was the most interaction you'd get from me with the region. This went on for at least 8 months.
But then one day, as fate would have it, I was persuaded to join the region's official Discord server, by none other than our Tagus Andusre (thanks btw :p). He also convinced me to join the military, the Thaempirial Army, and the rest is history you probably already know.
I had no intention of getting to this point of involvement with the region, frankly, I didn't know a point like this existed or that I could reach it, but I digress. Now my time in the Discord server is just shy of two months, and I'm running for Member of Parliament. Whilst I'm sure cool status will get me through the elections, I still gotta give you some proper reasons for voting for me, so here goes nothing.
My Platform
The military - Since I am a part of our military operations I of course endorse its improvement. I believe we could achieve a lot more good in the world of NationStates through diplomacy and, where it is required, through military operations. I believe that more progress could be achieved through a greater arsenal of recruits, since the time for operations is not always ideal for all our different time zones we live in. Secrecy is also very important here, and I could say something about there not being any need for Congress to be informed about the operations planned to be conducted by the Executive, but I will not take a stance on this question as I do not yet fully understand what these terms mean :p
Recruitment - Make the Recruitment Program better 0Head! I believe that an increased influx of new nations would have a profoundly positive impact on our region's well-being. I have seen many painful resignations and resingnations during the short time I've been here, and I know that with more people there will be more inevitable conflicts of interest, toxicity and disagreement. But those people are still a minority! With a clever Recruitment Program focused on bringing in people of all colours (as long as the colours do not spell hate) I hope we may increase our region's activity and bolster its diversity and development. As of now, I know little to nothing about reforming programs or changing laws, but I'm sure help from passionate others with a similar vision to mine coupled with time could make this endeavour worthwhile for all of us. The old adage "the more, the merrier" could not be more appropriate.
Endorse the World Assembly Delegate - Come on this one is easy. I am not sure how being an MP could give me more leverage to tell you this (of course you reading this are already endorsing the WAD or you have a good reason not to). I just support this cause ok. It gives our region more power in NS, I think.
The Culture Ministry - Other than the military, this is the only Executive Branch I actually have experience with. As Thaecia's proud, first resident to host its own official Minecraft Server, I know a thing or two about bringing in culture to the region and serving the population with digital leisure amenities and fun and engaging activities. I therefore highly support its development and would love to be able to further help it grow through a parliamentary membership.
My involvement with Solidarity - I am not sure if this fits here but I know some might be wondering why I have joined this party. I kinda wonder that myself lmao. But seriously, I joined it because a good friend of mine, Gallo republic, a passionate and avid member of Solidarity, insisted that I join the party. And then I just kinda joined it. I have not yet read their manifesto, but I expect that with time my involvement with the party will grow. I do not believe I will leave it or join another party.
Still reading? Stellar! As a token of my appreciation - here, have a burbger :3
(btw it would be big omegalul if I didn't get elected after putting this much effort into this campaign dispatch xd)
Summary So to summarise, I am a passionate person dedicated to improving the region in several ways. I have no experience with being an MP whatsoever, but you gotta start somewhere, right? With time and persistence, I am sure I will get things done, and have plenty of fun! I may not be as experienced as the other beautiful candidates in this election, but my novelty simultaneously gives me an advantage in that I can see things from a different perspective, and bring forth new ideas and solutions to problems we have yet to solve. Also am cool😎
To be honest, I was never going to run. I was actually peer-pressured into running in this election by my newfound friends, and I bet I will thank them endlessly for it when this is all over! But in the end, it all really comes down to personal interest and curiosity. I mean, why else would I spend so much time writing all this? No one asked me to (at least not to this extent jesús). I have an indubitable passion for helping this region in any way that I can, and, for now, joining the House of Commons is a good first step in that endeavour. That is where your vote comes in. Unus pro omnibus, omnes pro uno!
Thank you for your time, I hope to have your vote in the upcoming election!

Ladies and Gentlement, I will be running for the House under a commonly known principal: **Gaymunism**. If you have never heard of **__Gaymunism__**, you are in for a treat. Our fellow comrades will slowly seize the production of homophobia and rid of it's exploits on our fabulous comrades.
Support our fab comrades by voting for me, and you will see the true change Thaecia needs. Let's rid of homophobic exploits and unite our fellow comrades of such suffering!
**Why You Should Vote For Adomania** It's official. I'm running for the House of Commons again, and I'm gonna give you all both reasons you need to vote for me.
> 1. Obstructionism Why have a functional congress that passes legislation when you could not? As MP, I promise to vote against every bill and amendment that comes before the House of Commons and encourage my fellow MPs to do the same. It's time to begin legislative gridlock and not get things done!
> 2. Anti-Productiveness Have you ever noticed that debates in the House of Commons are *so boring*? Everyone's taking their job seriously and engaging in productive debate. I promise to put an end to that by providing the least productive possible stances on every bill I possibly can. Whether that stance is in support or opposition doesn't matter. What matters is that it's unproductive at worst and counterproductive at best.
With those two amazing reasons, not voting for me would be one of the biggest mistakes you've ever made on NS. Thank you for your time.
In regard to the debate as to whether the House of Commons and the Senate should have oversight into the military, here is my proposed solution. Apologies in advance if it is vague, but I hope it helps!
Preamble: Following amendments to the L.R. 040 Military Commission Act of 2020, there is some confusion over whether the House of Commons and Senate should have oversight over the military, and the extent of that oversight. Here is a proposed solution.
I. The House of Commons and the Senate should have oversight over the Thaecian Armed Forces. This will allow an extra buffer in order to prevent tyranny and misuse of the Armed Forces.
Ia. The Prime Minister should be re-given power over the military, in association with the President and the Secretary of Defense.
Ib. The Chairpersons of both the House of Commons and the Senate should deliberate on military matters with the Secretary of Defense.
Ic. Both the House of Commons and the Senate must agree by two thirds vote whether to declare war on another nation or region, and then said declaration must be approved by the President and the Secretary of Defense. The Prime Minister does not have to cast a vote in this situation.
Id. In terms of defensive war, in which Thaecia is attacked by another nation or region, it is up to the President whether to return hostilities or not.
II. All other amendments filed that do not interact with the House of Commons, Senate, and the Prime Minister's military position, are considered to directly affect the military, and not it's governing body.
IIa. The previously mentioned amendments in Section II do not need to be changed in order to resolve the HoC and Senate oversight issue.
