Welcome to Thaecia! I'm sure you'll have a great time with us here in NationStates, and the best way to do that is to get involved right away!

To make the most out of your time in Thaecia you should join the World Assembly and endorse our Prime Minister Korsinia, if you need more information on how to join the WA or you want to apply for a position in the executive or even run for a seat in Congress checkout this Information factbook. If you have time feel free to read through Law Registry which can also be found in the Information factbook, you should also consider joining our regional discord server: https://discord.gg/RYgzby8

But most importantly, have fun! Get chatting to your fellow Thaecians on the Regional Message Board(RMB) or discord and get to know a few of us. You'll feel right at home in no time!

If you have any questions or concerns you'd like us to help you with, don't hesitate to telegram me Zon island. Also checkout our Roleplay, if you have any questions about roleplay please Telegram Islonia

You just missed a general election, so there won't be any more opportunities to run for Congress for another two months, but you can always help out in the government by applying for a position in one of the ministries. My best advice would be for you to take some time to get settled and adjusted to our customs and get a better understanding of how things work here. Then you'll be in a good position to see what opportunities you want to take.

I am more than willing to do whatever I have to do to become fluent with the way that things work.

If you just keep an eye on the RMB, the House of Commons and Senate, and get on discord if you haven't already, you should pretty quickly get a grasp of things.

what, the delegate changed? when?

I mean "real" news, like regional stuff. If I reported on each country individually I would be on steroids.

Fishergate wrote:The Prevention of Inappropriately Early Snap Elections amendment could see Prime Ministers and Presidents elected on the votes of a small minority of Thaecians and therefore without any democratic legitimacy. Imagine if this had happened to Xernon after the November election – I would’ve been elected President with only 29% of the vote. Imagine if it had happened to Rayekka – Deppendants would have been elected Prime Minister with just 7 votes (14%). Holding re-runs in this scenario is inconvenient, but necessary. Letting a candidate with very little support take the position for free because something terrible happened to the actual PM/President could be a lot worse than the minor inconvenience of re-running the election.

Interesting point. Would you think a limit eg no candidate under 30-40% (or something like that) of the first preference votes can be invited to assume the post? Snap elections immediately after a general election are pretty garbage wastes of time, after all.

He says as a presidential snap election is about to be held...

But that seems like a fair solution.

'Tis actually exactly why I wrote it. There's been talk with some other Senators, notably Dendro, about implementing something to stop snap elections so soon after a genelec.

To say the delegate changed feels inaccurate to me. As per Thaecian law we are all endorsing the PM (Korsinia) as the president elect is unavailable to take office for reasons we all know and won't rehash.

Since ya'll speaking bills, I'm leaving this one here as well

Noting the lack of utility and the gargantuan bureaucracy L.R. 028 House Committees Act presents,
Acknowledging the unnecessary parts and the poorly explained difference between an emergency and casual hearing in L.R. 029 Congressional Oversight Act,
Aware that both of these bills present sizeable flaws in what they aim to achieve,

Congress hereby agrees to the following:

Section I - A motion will be defined as a proposal made in a deliberative assembly by one of its members.
Section II - Such proposal has to differ from a regular bill and aim to debate on an explicit subject or number of subjects.
Section III - The debate on the said subject(s) shall happen if the chamber of congress passes the motion with a simple majority.

Section I - A hearing will be defined as the summoning of an individual to answer questions or state their case in an ongoing investigation.
Section II - A hearing may only be called on for members of the government or a past government. For the purpose of this bill, the following positions shall be defined as member of a government: President, Prime Minister, Minister, Deputy Minister, Secretary of Roleplay, Ministerial and Departmental Staff (excluding the Roleplay Administration).
Section III- In order for a Hearing to be held, a proposal must be put to the floor of that chamber and passed with a simple majority.
Section IV - Hearings can be called on when a member of the executive branch is/has been seen as not doing his duties or when he seems/seemed to execute them poorly. A hearing can also be called to explicit information on an ongoing or past crisis. A crisis will be defined as an important event hurting in any way the community or the reputation of the region.
Section V- An individual called by Congress for a hearing has the right to contest the justification for said hearing in Court if they deem it does not fit the proceeds of Article II - Section IV of this Act.

The passage of this bill constitutes the repeal of L.R. 028 House Committees Act and L.R. 029 Congressional Oversight Act.

Read factbook

It aims to simplify both LR28 & LR29 by removing all those bureaucratic and useless shenanigans there are in it, and it has a cooler name! 😛

Yeah. The question is, who takes up the office in a case like this?
