I hereby announce I am dropping my membership of the Thaecian Progressive Union and will continue to be outspoken in the public space as an independent.
Now that the elections are over I can safely say this. You people completely destroyed the Senate election, I don't know how this results will end up looking like, but honestly it is a disgrace. I am not going to position myself in favour of either side here, but I would like to announce that the PPT shall NOT go into a coalition with either the TPU or TRP in the Senate. These elections have been ruined and I would rather take it to a snap election then coalitioning with either of them following what happened, thank you.
I offer my apologies to the Pirate Party on behalf of the TPU. If this is your stance, we won't try to change your mind, we are truly sorry for the toxicity which infected the region lately.
I am absolutely furious by Cerdenia’s actions. The arguments actually helped the election, turnout was high, and the arguing took the place of a cancelled debate. I urge all senators to vote nay on his bill. Levantx Albianis Greater conexus
With no offense, your words are absurd! The arguments did not help the election, it just made it about something it was not. This wasn't about the Senate anymore, it was about the troubled past of some and corruption of others, it was a debacle whose loser was our great region, which became flooded with toxicity from both sides, which is why the elections must happen again
Cerdenia, Fishergate, Greater conexus, and Orangemain
No it didn't, the actions destroyed our elections. There was no debate around policy or any of that, only accusations of fascism or whatever, which, even if correct, frankly have nothing to do with our elections and turned our region into a pile of toxic s***. I am disappointed, if you are going to back this then so be it, but I know that I won't. High turnout means nothing if real issues aren't debated, and parties just try to call each other fascist or undemocratic or whatever. I am not backing off the motion and I hope the senators will realise what happened here today. Multiple people have already expressed their concerns against this situation, I doubt the actual citizens of Thaecia were happy seeing their RMB spammed with toxic discussion. I honestly don't see what you tend to gain with this.
With respect, I doubt having the Senate election again will do anything regarding toxicity.
If it is determined by the court that a nation committed a crime, and that crime may have influenced the election, they will have no choice but determine that the latest Senate election was fraudulent and tampered with.
Considering the influx of outside nations that had much to say about nations within this region, I'm doubtful that any responsible court would allow the current Senate election to remain intact.
They may determine, by their own vested constitutional authority, that the recent election was unconstitutional, given their power of judicial review. Considering most constitutional courts follow the American model, I'm optimistic that they carry this authority.
