Consumer Product Safety For: 1,535. Against: 752. Voting ends in 3 days, 15 hours. Ragaskan: AGAINST. |
The Fresh Start of The Voice of ARB What is the way of P115 as far as the WA is concerned? Is the region a WA democracy, an autocracy, or somewhere in between? If there's a place on the P115 Forum for WA discussion, I didn't see it... |
We generally trust the judgment of the delegate, so in that sense we're not democratic, like Ulthar. Rags generally votes "No" on everything unless asked to vote otherwise. That's not my personal philosophy, but we also have very few WA nations and people seem OK with it. |
For the Americans among us (and interested parties in other countries, too, of course), how do you feel about the Supreme Court ruling protecting protests at funerals? From today's NY Times: www.nytimes.com/roomfordebate/2010/10/06/ free-speech-and-picketing-funerals?nl=todaysheadlines&emc=thab1 (remove the space) |
Yes, before NONNY's run of some 1400 days as WA delegate, we had poor, sometimes non-existent representation at the WA. While I might wish for Rags' vote to be more nuanced, in his defence, he has changed his vote when asked to and he keeps us posted, so I am satisfied. |
I am livid. We are trying to buy a new house in Myrtle Beach. We found a house we loved, but it turned out the real estate agent had (illegally) already had it under contract with another buyer and let us see it and make a bid on it anyway. When caught her in her perfidy, she notified us that she was selling her own (very nice) house on a short sale. We looked at it the next day after it was posted for sale, but it, too already had an offer on it. While we were in her office a few minutes ago, I noticed that SHE STILL HAD AN ACTIVE ADVERTISEMENT FOR THAT HOUSE POSTED IN HER WINDOW, now with a couple of bids on it. I said a couple of (merited) unkind things to her and she stormed out of the office, only to come back later with a sob story about life being so rough for her.... Lady, when I got to where I couldn't do my job well with my migraines, I made arrangements to leave. |
Sorry about that Doc. Now that Prof Hell declared there's NO value in changing yer nation name to include a color to sucker the system into giving you the color Easter Egg issue, I have news. Five days ago I put Purple in my name and today I have the color Easter Egg. Coincidence? I doubt it given how rare Easter Eggs are. The problem is figuring out if NSH or Max is messing with our heads. OMG! What if NSH is Max? Be afraid. Be very afraid. |
The Fresh Start of The Voice of ARB I (who am Prof Hell's boss) said that the word Zombie was of no value in getting an egg, but affirmed that a colo(u)r or the word Holy was of value. You are now another confirming data point for that proposition. You may have misunderstood me as making some other claim, but I'm not responsible for that. Unless it was due to my twisty way with the English language and tendency to use quadruple negatives. But I Kant imagine that would confuse one so erudite as yourself. |
I am easily misunderstood and confused. Not unlike my namesake. |
The real Kant, aside from his brilliance, also wrote some of the most obtuse philosophy in the entire genre. |
Got the "Holy" pre-title issue. Given the option to "pull a lever", essentially. The result of pulling the lever is apparently adorable kittens. |
Charging people to look at the lever creates a whole new industry. I wonder what NOT pulling the lever does? |
Further investigation is warranted. From a trend perspective, it doesn't look like any of the easter eggs really do much of anything, but it's always fun to know the supposed results, regardless. |
The Fresh Start of The Voice of ARB Choice 3 of the "suburbs" Easter egg can be damaging to your economy. (To get that Easter egg, you need an extremely good economy, or so I believe, making it unlikely you would choose the third choice, which forces businesses to go where it's not profitable...) |
Picking the color red is a time bomb buried in those innocuous choices, although my souces tells me he picked it once and nothing happened with that, either. Go figure. |
And I've read that choosing #1 in "Suburbs are our of this World" damages your environment, but my high environment nations that've chosen it don't notice a diffference. Certaonly HRC wouldn't. :D |
The Fresh Start of The Voice of ARB Speaking as someone who thinks if he were Max, he'd have done a better job, the Easter eggs shouldn't have large effects. The idea is to answer them for fun, and not worry that your zombie policy will screw up your national directions. In this regard, the lever Easter egg is practically perfect. It's hilarious, and all choices seem safe. Well, except for that destroying-the-world bit. :D |
If I had to go, being trambled by adorable kittens seems a fine way to do it. When I'm 125. |
The Fresh Start of The Voice of ARB But then you'll miss the Singularity! |
My robot body won't be hurt by kittens' feet! :D Is America Broke? (Michael Moore haters can skip this one with my blessings.) www.huffingtonpost.com /michael-moore/america-is-not-broke_b_832006.html? utm_source=Triggermail&utm _medium=email&utm _term=Daily+Brief&utm_campaign=daily_brief (remove the spaces) |
Congratulations to The Profligate Son, Ninja Dog, Arcimboldo, Black Friday, NONNY, and Aki Zeta for being in the world top 1000 Most Extreme. |
ARB, any idea on what metric they measure "Extreme"? We have some good candidates here that didn't make the top 1000 who have the same rankings.... |
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnreVTKtpMs The main problem with Trans-humanism remains a material one; those who can become superhumans are likely to be those who are already at the upper echelon of society. What if they become batshit insane and decide to kill all other "lesser lifeforms"(Superman's Dilemma, you heard it here first folks!)? Ignoring the obvious Malthusian criticism to Historical Positivism(regarding lolh4x Infinite Technological Recursive Progress), and supposing an lol!equitable distribution of AWESOME PROSTHESIS; I have no qualms with Singularitanism and think of it as just a next step in Cultural Evolution. |
The Fresh Start of The Voice of ARB Everything I've seen points to it being an average of civil rights, economy and political freedom measured by their distance from the midpoint (which I assume to be 50). Evidence suggesting that it's more complicated than this would be welcomed. Especially since I think it should be more complicated than that. |
