I have no snow left. Hope we don't get any more. It would be nice to get some warmer and dryer weather. I still have to work the soil in my vegetable garden before I can plant my seedlings. Still too early to plant, but I still have to make a couple new beds first. Already have my spring flowers doing their thing. Better than last year. |
TG for my cold frames. I get a jump on the growing season. My Rhododendrons are in full bloom now in spite of the weather. |
Don't think Rhododendrons are hardy enough in Northern Ontario. If I was still in Southern Ontario, they would be OK. My cousin in British Columbia say theirs are like weeds. |
Probably not. I have many plants that I will be bringing outside next month and returning to the house in Octoberish. A Night Blooming Cereus Peruvianus for one and a Euphorbia milii (Crown of Thorns). |
Finally a real nice day today. Too warm for sweat shirts. Spent much of the day outside playing with the dog. |
We've been having frog drowners the past couple of days. The ground is super saturated. |
"Frog Drowners" I like that. Not sure if the thunder that we are now having is going to produce any real rain or not. We could use some to get rid of those forest fires in the area. My garden is slowly coming along. I just don't feel energetic enough to keep up with the weather. I have to weed out one more bed before planting the seedlings. Decided to wait until next year to build the bed for the strawberries. May end up using plastic edgers instead of garden ties. My raspberries are growing like weeds. The tomato bed still needs to be turned and broken up some more. |
The past couple of days it's been in the 90's. Too hot to do any yard work. Next week it's supposed to be more moderate. |
Today, it had decided to be a lot cooler than it had been. Hope it warms up again, as I don't want it to return to winter. Already have a lot of plants in the ground. |
Temperatures have dropped here also. From the 90's to the 70's. Nice! |
