Thanedom of jon

Jul 27, 2020
Aboard the R&D Airship, 50 miles off the east coast
600 hours

Theng Paige slowly rifled through all the blueprints, gaze moving over them as her sister spoke over the phone. "You can tell the Kostovs designed this." Came the voice over the line, "Jon the third as well. It has mught makes right written all over it." Paige opened her mouth to respond, slowly closing it. Finally she spoke up, "I belive it in our best interest to launch it. But keep this as the only model. Much like heat uncle Bjorn's air ship. It'll definitely raise morale."

The high theng voice came over the phone, somewhat chipper. "Have you got the plans for the new multirole? We're planning out a whole new line for fighters as well!" The younger of the two gave a soft smile towars the phone, happy to hear her sister so excited. "I did. Father would be proud. Do you plan to use more of those super carriers as well? If there's one thing his father could design, its them after all."

A soft sigh came over the phone, "My predecessor ordered one but, they are remarkably expensive to build. Though I suppose they were built to be movong bases, even more so then other carriers. Not to mention his secrets finally being shown. A submersible carrier. Super soliders. And the thane guard? Somehow they made them even stronger then the aforementioned super soldiers. I wonder... I fear he stole tech from our Commonwealth neighbors. Either that, or he never should've abdicated. It's... overwhelming. But thank you for calling. I have a meeting. I love you Paige. Good bye."

The younger sister couldn't even respond in kind before the click. Typical. Sliding the Ragnar's Revenge blueprints away, her gaze moved to something new. Project Artemis. Now this, would change the balance of power more then any old space gun. A smirk plaued on her lips at the thought.

Heyo friends of Northern Utopia!

The Free Nations Region is hosting a debate session on Saturday, August 1st at 19:00 UTC, and we want YOU to come on over to our discord and participate in some lively discussion. But, first things first, we need to decide what we will be debating.

In this dispatch, I have outlined in detail eight questions. These questions are presented in four groups of two, each of which contains questions related to each other. In the following poll, you can decide which two questions we will be answering on Saturday:

page=poll/p=161391

I hope to see you there and I can't wait to see what topics the community decides upon!

The Beginning of Something New?

Recently something has been coming to rise in the United States, Sparrowhawk Inc has been letting beta testers use their jet pack technology. For what reasons is unknown to the public but its what the testers are doing with such tech, Jetpack airsoft.

In a dangerous match of Airsoft, testers would fly around a patch of abandoned buildings and grounds shooting at each other, with special devices and helmets to allow teamwork, protection, hit indicators, JP fuel, and fun. Although safety was not that much of a priority as there has already been a few injuries and jetpack damages.

Such use of technology was called irresponsible by some, but the sport group has been eating up the recordings and livestreams, paying good money to watch the testers go at it in their matches. So the company hasn't stopped it, and the Testers continue to have their fun. Is this the start of something new?

Making roleplay posts on the Regional Message Board
You don’t have to do anything before you start roleplaying on the RMB. Your posts can be about anything to do with your nation; we use posts to let others know what is happening in our countries (you can make this up). You can engage with other nations in your roleplay, such as through diplomacy or combat. To ensure the other roleplayer is happy to be involved, talking to them about roleplay plans beforehand is a good idea.

Writing your first post can be difficult, and it can be hard to know where to take your nation. Remember that you don’t have to follow the plot of your issues (in fact, most people here completely ignore their issues in roleplay). Before writing your introductory post, you might want to write a couple of factbooks (although this is completely optional). Factbooks are essentially information articles about your nation, and they can cover anything. (To read more about these, see the next section.)

Things you could include in your first post:

  • Your style of government

  • Who leads your nation

  • Your capital city/cities

  • What’s happening in your nation at the moment

  • Your population and culture

It’s a good idea to read other people’s posts to understand what’s happening at the moment in the wider NU world. If you’re confused about a plot point, asking on our Discord server can help. Once you’ve made your first post, you can keep making posts whenever you want to tell stories about what’s going in your nation (and you can start to roleplay with other members).

What length should your posts be? This is completely up to you, but we ask that you don’t post messages under 90 words. This is simply to make sure that all messages are impactful.

Here are some examples of good roleplay posts:

If you make a mistake in a post, you can edit it by returning to that post and clicking the Edit Post button.

Writing a factbook
A factbook is a piece of writing describing your nation. You can choose to have a number of factbooks or one with many sections. Factbooks can cover your nation’s politics, culture, military, or geography (among other things). To write a factbook, return to your nation's page and click on the grey icon that looks like an open book.

Here are some examples of good overview factbooks:

Here are some examples of other good factbooks:

You're not obliged to write a factbook before you start roleplaying here, but it might be a good idea to write one or two to help give other members an idea of what your nation is like. If you want to learn about other countries, having a look at some of their factbooks is the way to do it.

You can look up guides to writing factbooks if you need inspiration or help; other members of the region are also happy to help you!

Notice:

These are the rules for our main roleplay world.

Find the rules for the Tectunia roleplay project here.

General Site Rules

  1. Do not harass, bully, discriminate against or threaten any member of the region.

  2. Do not reveal personal information of any kind about any member without permission from the individual involved. Do not dox.

  3. Follow all instructions from members of the regional management team. Do not attempt to evade or circumvent punishment.

  4. If a member of the management team asks whether you have any puppet nations (nations other than your primary account), tell them.

Regional Message Board Rules

  1. Do not use the Regional Message Board for non-roleplay posts or general conversation. Non-roleplay posts are permitted, but you should keep them to the absolute minimum and only post them when you have to. You must label any non-roleplay post OOC (meaning Out-Of-Character).

  2. Do not post messages under 90 words in length. Where possible, try to make your posts as meaningful and impactful as you can.

  3. Do not post spam messages.

  4. Do not argue.

  5. Follow the roleplay rules during roleplay. See the next section for more information.

Click above for rules relating to activities on the site

General Roleplay Rules

  1. Do not godmod (i.e. do not assume control of another member's nation, military, economy or character OR make your nation, military, economy or character unbelievably or impossibly powerful). Do not godmod in response to another roleplayer using godmodding against you. Instead, report godmodding to the regional management team. The management team has the right to decanonise roleplay (including factbook content) that breaks this rule.

  2. Do not harm, destroy or significantly alter another member's important properties (for example their nation, cities, characters or items, among other things) without their permission or involvement. This applies to all types of roleplay, including public roleplay. You must contact the other roleplayer to request permission and plan before you write a post that will harm, destroy or significantly alter the other roleplayer's properties. The management team has the right to decanonise roleplay (including factbook content) that breaks this rule.

  3. Your roleplay must be realistic to the region's setting. Contact a member of the regional management team if you need advice.

  4. Do not use information you have learnt through out-of-character discussion or story planning in roleplay if your nation or character does not have access to that information in canon. The management team has the right to decanonise roleplay (including factbook content) that breaks this rule.

  5. Do not include gratuitous descriptions of injury, violence, corporal punishment, torture, death, capital punishment, war crimes, genocide, ethnic cleansing, discrimination or anything similar in your posts. Do not write posts that revolve solely or largely around descriptions of physical violence. If you are unsure whether your post is acceptable, contact a member of the management team.

  6. Do not plagiarise or copy content to write your Regional Message Board posts, factbooks, dispatches or other content for your country. The management team will decanonise plagiarised content.

  7. Do not use AI (for example ChatGPT, Bard or any other AI provider) to write your Regional Message Board posts, factbooks, dispatches or other text content for your country. The management team will decanonise text generated by AI.

  8. You may use a puppet nation/second account in roleplay, but you must not use puppets simply to increase the military strength of your primary nation.

  9. The management team has the right to allow a post with elements of godmodding if it is for the greater good of roleplay in the region.

  10. Roleplay events that occur in your telegrams are not considered canon.

  11. Time must flow at a constant speed for everybody involved in a roleplay arc.

  12. You must make national or military roleplay posts in the third person. The management team has the right to decanonise national/military posts not made in the third person.

Statistics, Factbooks and Equipment

  1. NationStates site statistics are ignored in roleplay. This includes your population and military.

  2. You have the right to choose your own national population. You can ignore the population given to you by NationStates. When you choose your national population (when making a Linkmap application), follow the guidelines.

  3. To update your national population, telegram or message Grenopia or The Soviet state of Svalbard.

  4. You must include custom military equipment and their capabilities in a factbook if you intend to use them in public roleplay. The management team has the right to decanonise message board posts that reference custom military equipment not described in a factbook.

  5. Do not describe military equipment as being the best in X or more powerful than Y. Try to describe your equipment and capabilities in detail.

  6. When you introduce new military equipment or technology, you must make at least two message board posts about the construction period (start/finish).

  7. You must explain hypothetical futuristic weaponry or technology in a factbook before you use it in roleplay. The management team has the right to decanonise message board posts that reference futuristic weaponry or technology not described in a factbook.

Types of Roleplay

  1. Internal Roleplay is a type of roleplay that involves only one nation. It has little impact on the world stage.

  2. Closed Roleplay is a type of roleplay that involves a host and contributions by trusted members.

  3. Private Roleplay is a privately planned type of roleplay; uninvited members should not quote these posts or reply to them.

  4. Public Roleplay is a type of roleplay that can involve all members. You must provide dates for all public roleplay events.

Punishment Rules

  1. The management team has the right to suppress any Regional Message Board post that breaks the rules.

  2. The management team has the right to eject or ban any immediate threats to the region.

  3. The management team has the right to eject or ban any member of the region who breaks the most important rules, repeatedly breaks the rules or does not obey management instructions. The team must log a valid reason for the ejection/banning.

  4. The management team has the right to use warnings, temporary Regional Message Board bans and other methods of punishment not listed here.

Corlenia

[12:30 AM, 8/2/2020]
[St. Normia]
[Weather: Rain]
[Royal Avenue, The Helm]

Kaiser Omega remained kneeled before the caskets that had filled the streets outside of the Helm, numbering in the thousands as, despite constant battle by loyal Corlenian firefighters, smoke continued to bellow out the Helm's many elegant windows, glass still littering the street.
He remained in silence, as he had been doing for the past fifteen minutes while kneeling before the desecrated bodies of the deceased. His metallic snout and face was dripping with tears, and his hands were stained with blood, the blood of the same bodies that lie eternally before him.
Over 2,800 innocent lives destroyed.
Over 2,800 innocent lives remembered.
Tens of thousands more ruined.
Millions changed.
All more battered than the rest.
All more scared than the rest.
All more determined than the rest.
Omega felt a familiar determination to bring justice for those lost, and determination to bring peace to those that will be lost. He felt the same determination nearly three decades ago when the Kudians attempted a similar revolt themselves.
"Sir." Once again, Jeffery arrived at the scene to bring more comfort to the devastated Kaiser. But the damage was already done. There was no comforting the broken cybernetic mutant King.
"Sir, I feel that I need not make you any more distressed, but I, unfortunately, have no choice. May I please inform you of current events?" At this, Omega turned his head away from his closest general and towards the ravaged Helm.
"Go ahead."
"Sir, in the explosion, we lost a majority of our high-ranking generals. While we still have thousands of officers left, most of them are Leutennant or lower and have no formal training in military tactics. Many don't know what is going on in our current situation, but all we all know is that Dunova must be responsible for all of the events that have transpired, them and their supporters."
"Is that all?"
"Not entirely. We received yet another letter from the Dunovan heads of state. All they have said is, "Our point has been made. In order to prevent further chaos and bloodshed upon your people, we as the rightful ruler of our territories and you, as the usurper of our government, much reach a compromise. We demand full ownership of our old territory in Dunova, Mordavia, Darnium, Arsinurg, Hyperion, as well as all land up to the Lingos River. We demand all troops be removed from our territory, and ultimately that all mutants in your government be handed to us, and that search teams be readily available to search for potential anti-Dunova terrorists within your country's borders. We hope that-"
"...No..." Omega quickly snapped his neck to Jeffery's position, cutting the man off, as he dropped all signs of general control and limitations "I will not let this nation fall, and I will not give in to their demands. That will show my ultimate cowardice and weakness. The rest of the Provinces will fall next. They will not stop until we are subjugated to them, and it is more than likely that you and your race will be their main targets."
"You cannot say that now, sir!"
"I can say what I feel, not doing so shows my weakness and above all, I will not be weak. We need more soldiers now, we need organization again, and we need hope again. We need our people to remain as steadfast as we are that we will win in this coming war."
"Half of our generals and commanders were massacred in the Helm! We cannot train enough to equalize that divide in leadership. Half of our communication lines recently went silent, We are entirely dark!"
"We can still run on half, send people by aircraft to compensate if you need to. I don't care about the likelihood of success all I care about is that there is still a fraction of a chance that we can win! They are entirely landlocked, they have no formal navy, and most of all, they do not control any land."
"Sir..."
"...Oh god, please don't tell me..."
"We lost contact with our Dunovan outposts an hour ago." At this, Omega went silent. He walked a bit to the side, clutched his head, and as half a dozen bruises suddenly appeared on his arms and legs, he passed out.
His rage has overwhelmed his logic, and there may be no going back now.

[10:30 AM, 8/2/2020]
[Mt. Pyrosis, Central Dunova]
[Weather: Scattered Thunderstorms, Overcast]
[Pyrosis Comms Centre, Wachterhelm Dunova II]

A mutant Comms Operator sat down at his station, as he had nearly three-hundred times before for the past four years. There was no change in that time. He got no SOS signals, no fearful shouting, no sound of gunfire. His job was as easy as it was boring.
Today, he felt like something may finally happen. The sky hadn't let up in rain until recently, and because of the attack on the helm, attacks from SOMEONE seemed at least possible.
But no. Nothing yet. The radar screen was completely empty, the comms inbox was filled with flak, junk, and the obligatory "Rich Serb Prince" trojan that somehow manages to snake its way into even governmental systems he needed to delete later. It would take hours considering that somehow those trojans have evolved into nearly invincible viruses.
Strangely enough, there was another apparent virus labeled simply: "Read".
He immediately trashed the mail, but after opening his inbox back up, he realized it had appeared again. Same file, same format, same message. He thought about his previous experiences with trojans, and placed his finger upon the front desk switch, and set the alert type to a computer security breach and waited for an automated message regarding a trojan breach to ring out over the intercom. But somehow, the systems seemed to refuse to comply with his wish.
Upwards of thirteen minutes passed without the intercom message until he decided self-inspection was the only option he had left.
He opened the message and within was nothing but a link.
Intelligently, he disconnected his computer from the network, ensuring his computer's damage would not spread to the rest of the complex.
He clicked the link, prepared for anything.
Suddenly, the lights went dark, and a message on his phone lit up the darkness.
"What the hell was that? Why are we in some type of blackout?" Said the front desk.
His stomach dropped as the last light left in his working room was his screen which held nothing but a white box.
Within, there was a blue dot.
It began to rapidly expand, and as it did, increasingly complex sentences formed within it.
"God"
"Views"
"Himself"
"As a flame"
"Of revolution,"
"Burning down what used to be,"
"And building the world anew."
"Would you like to see it with me, dear?"
With that last sentence, his computer screen went dark, and the only light that could be made out was the flickering of his computer's light display as the power source overclocked.
The computer burst into flame and the screen flashed blinding white then went fully silent.
After the ordeal, he sat shocked for several minutes until he realized his body was separate to his mind when he shot up and found his way somehow through the pitch-black hallways until he smashed headfirst into another worker. He felt the scruffling of papers against his thighs as a female voice cursed herself out as he felt a hand grasp at his shoes then to the floor.
Feeling a need of duty, he bent over and felt for the distinctive roughness of papers. Eventually, the two felt no more papers, and with a simple "Help me." They both agreed upon walking together.
Both their minds grasped at the possibility of being lost, and they desperately attempted to find their way out.
As they slammed into others, the sense of duty increased, and although some went their separate ways, most came with, until they became a column of white-collars walking aimlessly through abysmally dark hallways until, eventually, the light became aware to them all.
He was their eyes, and his hands were their guides until they burst out the front door of the facility.
It was raining again, hard. It was raining so hard, he felt no more dry spots on his button-down shirt. Greeting them was almost a dozen humvees, black, and bearing a familiar mark, but with a different connotation.
It was a red circle with three long black swords in the middle, used commonly by Dunovan militias in the area. At that sudden realization, they all burst into clamor and wonder. But the Comms Operator felt something quite different: insurmountable terror. They came for him, for people like him, and what they wanted with them was nothing less than torture.
Out of them came almost 50 heavily armored soldiers, armed with assault rifles and shotguns. They surrounded the group, and the group quickly dropped to their knees.
An officer clad entirely in black attire. He looked like a dictator with his countless chevrons and medals. He held up a megaphone and declared to the group,
"Please, dear civilians, we do not wish upon you harm, but we do upon the traitors amongst you all. To those that show themselves, we will grant you passage into Dunova."
Lies, he told himself. He turned to the woman he helped out of those hallways, only now noticing her form. She was a mutant like him, and she would be taken like him.
"Should nobody stand, you will all be escorted to the nearest camp."
Something in his voice felt almost like excitement. For what, nobody understood, but it seemed too ominous to be natural.
Suddenly, ruffling next to him revealed the woman being suddenly forced to her feet by those behind her.
Her general discomfort turned into shouting, as the humans behind her forced her into the ring of soldiers who immediately had her cuffed.
In what could be confused for fear, the Operator stood to his feet and stared both the woman and the Commander down.
"Good." was all the Commander said before pointing in his direction and sending a soldier out to cuff him as well.
The two were herded into a humvee and were pushed into the back seat.
The Operator looked back behind him and saw the soldiers herding them as they did him.
He watched them pass his vehicle, eyes down, heads down. Some old, some younger. Some men, some women. Some taller, some shorter, and everything else. There was only one thing about them in common... They were all mutants.
The rest of the crowd was turned away and walked down the trail to the guard towers, burning in the distance. The rest of the soldiers marched inside the doors, and the faint sounds of gunshots could be heard.
He turned to the woman he helped, and suddenly it came to him. He saved her from death, and still doomed her to subordinate labor.
The humvee drove off in a fleet, towards unknown horrors.

Alia could hear the commotion in her apartment before she opened the door. A few frustrated (and very creative) Farsi curses, the kind that were actually... kind of impressive, in that they didn't actually use any expletive words, but they felt more insulting for it. She quietly swung the door open and stepped inside.
"... except for one, so you can have toothache!" Samira hissed at the holo-monitor in the lounge area, showing a live feed of Director Park's first State of the Nation address. Even from a brief glance, you could tell that the intended feel was different from Samira and Anahita's addresses. The cameras were lower, tilted up slightly to make her look more menacing. Two furled Commonwealth flags stood behind her. Park was so much more energetic in her speeches, almost shouting. If Samira didn't know better, she'd say Park was going full fascist.
"You alright?" Alia asked, peeking out from behind the wall. "I could hear you from the other side of the concourse.
Almost immediately, Samira calmed down. A wave of her hand, and the screen flickered out of existence, before she went to Alia and enveloped her in a hug. "I'm fine, my love."
"Honey, I love you to bits, but you're a really bad liar. What's wrong?"
"Nothing. I promise."
"Then what's all this?" Alia gently pulled away from Samira, gesturing to the virtual trash scattered around the augmented reality workspace overlaying reality - broken bottles, screwed up balls of paper, more than one hole smashed into reality itself. Samira's cheeks went redder as she waved a hand, dismissing her instance of Desktop Destroyer: AR Edition.
"Stress relief..." Samira said, sheepishly.
"Look, if you're feeling bad enough to use that program, you need to be talking to a therapist."
"No therapist can help me deal with the fact that Part is ruining my fucking country!"
"Oh, jeez... look, babe, I really hate to say it, but it's not your country any more. You lost the election. I get that you're upset, but... you really need to move past it. There's nothing more to do."
"There's always something to be done."
"... you're not serious."
"Elections are only the start of one's civic duty. They are not the end."
"Are you suggesting revolution!?"
"What? No! I'm suggesting a movement, yes, but not violent. Not yet."
"Oh, thank God, you had me terrified for a moment."
"The situation is nowhere near that bad. If we act now--"
"I hear you, but... I know for a fact that your concerns are for the nation as a whole, but I'm afraid that a lot of people are going to look at what you're saying and dismiss it as you just being salty over losing an election."
"I am."
"... you're really not helping your case. Look, at the very least, you need something to take your mind off all this. It's not good for you to get angry like this. Why don't you get a job at Meridian Industries?"
"That's... not a bad idea." Samira stared off into the distance for a moment - a clear sign of somebody using their augmented reality tech. "Well, I just put in an application."
"Great! Now while you wait for a response, let's head to the theatre. Tonight is theatre sports night."
"Really? I suppose I should check the arcology notice board more often."
Alia leaned down and gently planted a kiss on Samira's lips. "And listen to me more often, too. C'mon. Let's go have some fun."

Planetoid VZ-909XGL 'Margret'
For the first time in months, power flowed through the derelict mother-ship, its organically styled innards pulled apart, transformed and reassembled in a mockery of its alien origins.
Corridors crushed, atmosphere compressed, the remains of its crew polluting the asteroid belts as monoatomic vapour, it stirred, she stirred... the sensation of being bound in a harsh metal scaffold was the first intrusion to her newly activated mind, feeling the intrusion of angular assemblers of all shape and sizes contorting her innards had her let loose a scream into the cavern carved into the rocky depths.
A familiar voice cut through the pain, "Whoops, someone flipped a switch they shouldn't of..."
Noise...
"Well that's a... start, here lets do... this!"
Her thoughts skipped a moment, a second that wasn't... she felt complete, whole, the scaffolding slowly floating away as tiny faelike assemblers scattered from her sphere of vision.
It was a hole, metal, her... home?
EV-NET TERMINUS ONLINE: Q-LINK ESTABLISHED...
L: Okay sorry about all that but... I got a little curious and maybe did something a little aggressive but you're not screaming anymore so it's gotta be... not so bad now?
V: I
L: You...?
V: Feel
L: Okay that's a start, look I'm just gonna open up the doors and let you out... try not to slam yourself into the walls and embarrass all of us.

The distant ends of the long tunnel split open with a quiet rush, tugging her bulk gently towards the scintillating visages of distant stars, each one emblazoned with name and distance as scatter-shots of projections and solar noise crashed through her consciousness.
Soon the battering of data became familiar, more of the void opening up as curiosity had her force forwards, the surge of her engines shooting her out of the surface of the pitted planeload and into the expanse... every piece of the celestial starscape was mapped in an instant, an almost immediate familiarity with the cosmos.

L: Now the gist of this whole thing is we're doing this on the down low, so you see that little blue marble?... don't go near it, in fact I'm gonna put a big field of 'stay off' over anywhere anyone's looking.
V: They... fear?
L: More like if they find out they'll want a piece of you and I think everyone will not be happy if you get cut up for parts.
V: Disassembly is... undesirable.
L: Glad we're on the same page, otherwise go ham.

Spheres of red flooded her vision, the very sight of them bore an immediate pain... she quickly turned her attentions away, looking to the emptiness...

V: How... big?
L: Oh very, don't run off too far now <3

Off the shore of the Meridian commonwealth
The sleek silvered craft cut through the surface of the ocean and supersonic speeds, leaping out overland with a flourish and spray miles long as it lazily banked towards Progress... dark blue trails slipped from its quadruple engines slung over and under its dozen meter long swept-back wings.
It cut back and forth over the city's sky before finally slowly and descending, wings flexing out straight as it hovered above a landing pad and gently settled in place.
Its bulk split seamlessly and a small set of exquisitely styled comfortable chairs lowered out, Elise immediately broke from the restraints and sprinting up to the edge of the landing pad, jumping in place and landing upon the edge suspended with one hand, long purple hair flopping down over her face.
Her clothes were a set of shredded jeans and a dark black leather coat atop of a tank-top sporting several layers of profane declarations and a near pornographic visage of a blood soaked woman upon its back.
Emily's clothing was a short-sleeved dress and thick white stockings, a feathery lace-filled coat fluttering in the breeze with her black hair held in place by several ornately styled ribbons...
Lastly, taking a moment to finish her bottle of dark rum, was Ira... dark hair held back with a functional band, a simplistic dark black coat and pants.
She took her time wandering over to Elise to gently grab Elise's foot, pulling her away from the edge as the girl emitted a disgruntled groan; "Now now Ellie... you need to behave." Ira admonished with a lazy smile.
"Yeah... whatever, so who's the person we're meeting?" Elise replied as she stood up, brushing the hair from her face; "Your what... niece right?"
"Former Director Kirmani, yes..." Ira stated, guiding Emily towards the elevator as she motioned to Elise.
"Former?... oh right her, got booted 'cause she was bad at her job."
"Something like that, I hope she hasn't forgotten..."

Two humanoids Moved into the room, though one noticeably had to duck when he entered. Both wore long cloaks, covering most of their body. But it was hard to not notice the seven foot tall being actively forced to hunch down as to not be touching the ceiling. The smaller of the two gestured to the line and the taller of the two moved forward, aggressively parting it for the other. They did so either gently or less so. At least three were full on flung out of line until they came to the front. The first being moved a very gorilla like hand forward, ringing the bell and crushing it fully under its strength. The smaller of the two pushed its hood off, showing a very human head. But the antennae at the the top definitely didn't help the stressed employee. "I'm here to see one of your leaders, preferably Irene." The woman spoke. "And I don't want to leave till I know for certain I can."

The Holy Empire of Kkhano

June 13th, the Kkhanoese exile's camp in Dissopoloforia. Lily had been brought up to Ladislaus' tent for reasons unknown, although considering he had recently come back from his excursion in Svalbard, she had a good guess what the reason is.
"You wanted to see me, Ladislaus?"
"Well if I hadn't wanted to see you, why would I have called you up here?"
"I don't have time for this, get on with it"
"Very well, if you insist. As you probably figured out by now, we're preparing for our proper return to the world, so I need you to organise everyone under your command to get on transports and get everyone ready to go. We want everyone there for our return party, no?"
"Very well, I will see to it; but you see, I don't really understand what no makes us more ready to return than any other point in time"
"Oh, Would you like to know?"
"Very much so"
"Well, if you must know..." Ladislaus then proceeded to pull out two chakrams, one painted jet black, the other a glimmering gold. They were almost completely circular, with only a straight handle of silver allowing for the user to hold the weapon, the rest of it was jagged, covered in sharp indents to give the appearance of a spikey blade. Ladislaus showed of the two weapons for a bit, twirling them around in his hand, whilst Lily looked at them incredulously.
"...That?"
"If you want to put it crudely, I suppose" [i]Lily then snorted; the idea that Ladislaus thought two Sikh throwing weapons from the 3rd century was the reason they could make a return to the world was amusing to put it mildly. Despite this, Ladisluas just grinned at her, confidence unfazed.
"Aww, don't be like that. Just how about you take a look at that wine glass over there" Ladislaus indicated towards an empty wine glass on a table, causing Lily to stop her snickering and look towards it, still confused as to how this was going to help them in any way.
Soon after this, Lily was shocked to see the wine glass seemingly levitating off the table by itself - not gradually, but very quickly, being held almost completely still about 50 centimetres above the table. She rubbed her eyes to make sure she wasn't seeing things, then was shocked when she took here hands away and saw the scene unchanged. She tried to reason what was going on, soon turning the Ladislaus to ask him, only to be more surprised to see him incredibly focused, pointing the two chakrams she'd previously scoffed at towards the glass; they were glowing a dark hue of blue, as was a small object on his chest. His face was grim with effort, sweat dripping down it, but when he noticed Lily's staring, he smiled at her, pointing the chakrams in her direction, leading to the glass following and nonchalantly floating in front of her. He then lowered his Chakrams, which was followed by the glass slowly dropping to the floor.
Lily was completely speechless after witnessing this, trying to form a words in her mouth but failing, meanwhile Ladisluad leaned back on his leather armchair called the 'throne', exhausted, but still able to holler at Lily's shell-shocked expression after he noticed it.
"So, Lily: do you know what this means?"
"I-I uh - you were doing that?"
"Yes, now answer the question"
"Ugh-I-what?"
"Didn't think so. You see: old Kkhano had the advantage of picking a time when the world was weak and exploitable, however they made one fatal error. They attempted their liberation in an age of great thinkers, philosophers, and politicians; leading to the people of the world question their rule, having a desire for liberty - even though it was completely illogical, the very idea of freedom and self-governance was enough to send anyone not loyal to the Kkhanoese state into a frenzy. This meant the central government had to come up with tons of different ways of keeping people in line: Marcher lords were setup so regions had more local autonomy; the 'Biztonsági Bizottság' had to be setup to suppress any rebellions; and military units were wasted fighting countless uprisings. The people of the world, despite being abused by their previous 'free' overlords, weren't willing to give up their freedom: so they fought for it. But with" He once again twirled the chakrams around in his hand, occasionally knocking them against each other to create a noise and bring attention to them. "This, people will be willing to give up their freedom and accept the reality that integralism will save the world from its current state of disaster. You understand, do you not?" Lily didn't respond audibly, simply nodding her head with newfound respect and fear for her superior."Good, we're leaving tomorrow evening, I'd recommend getting ready".

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Present day, former north Molahan: former capital of Kkhano, Syr Dárya. The previously ruined city had been transformed into a modern urban area after the two months of relentless and unending reconstruction work. Ladislaus was currently standing on the balcony of the restored palace of Mítlis family; maybe not up to scruff with its former glory, but an impressive building nonetheless, dwarfing the many small shops and residential districts for the previous workers to live in. Under the restored integralist policy, all members of society were to serve the needs of the state, whenever and whatever that need may be seen to be by it's leader: and Ladislaus had seen that need to be reconstruction. Unfortunately, seeing as the entire 'population' of their movement were soldiers or children being raised as them, it was particularly easy to find builders. Nevertheless, they had managed it, and along with the capital, numerous over cities as well as the roads between them were being restored - as were the military industrial complexes that would be needed in the coming years. After taking one last look over the town, Ladislaus retired back to the main hall. There, James had been waiting for him with a camera; the plan being that they'd film Ladislaus announcing to the world the restoration of Kkhano.
However, Ladislaus had seen the state of James' technologic prowess: as well as the fact that camera was problem from the 60s and may not even be able to record anything - which initially had worried him, despite trying to play it off, however whilst he could just buy James another camera - or a phone for that matter - and teach him how to actually use it - he had come up with another idea that would require James to remain clueless in these matters, at least for a while.
They went outside and went ahead with the original idea. After the recording, Ladislaus looked over the footage and it was everything he had hoped for: choppy, awful framerate, half the audio didn't even get picked up, the works. After the playback had finished, he looked back at James, who in stark contrast to Ladislaus' pleased grin, had an utterly mortified look on his face.
“It’s absolutely horrendous”
“That means it’s perfect!” James was expecting some sort of agreement fro Ladislaus, maybe even punishment for making something so terrible; praise was the last thing he expected.
Perfect? excuse me Ladislaus, but that is an absolutely disgusting piece of work, even I can tell that”
“Exactly, that’s what I was hoping for”
“You’re going to have to explain that one”
“I’d be glad to! You see, my original idea was to try and scare people, cause some chaos, freak them out, you know? But then I considered what I’d do if I was someone in another position of power, what’d I do if some upstart superfluous guy in the middle of nowhere just struts in and flexes all of this stuff off; well I’d be in my right mind to blow them off the face of the planet.
But, if instead I see, well whatever we just made; we’d look like a joke - to them, at least, to them. Some people would still get scared, which would cause exactly what we want, without the risk of annihilation: it’s a perfect plan, no?”
“...It’s so stupid...”
“Yep”
“...That it might work” Ladislaus looked very pleased with himself after that
“Exactly: well if you just get that clip and put it on Twettir and we’ll be done for now”
“Um...”
“Please do not tell me you don’t know what Twettir is”
“Not exactly, just...”
“Oh, save your strength and let me do it” Upon saying this, Ladislaus took the camera away from James and left to upload the clip online - the realising he’d have to find a way to get the clip from a 1960s camera on to a modern device to put online. James watched him stop off, rather miffed by how he was shunned by Ladislaus - though to be fair, this wasn’t exactly his field, so it was far from an unprovoked response.
“Still, he’s chosen to put the spotlight on us now, hope he’s a good plan what to do with it”
