The sakura nippon wrote:When she had mentioned of the death of her loved ones, the Celestial Empress suddenly had a sudden expression of melancholy to her loss, her lips quivered as she tried to find words to express her sorrow.

Kiyomi: "I-I'm sorry for your loss," she had simply said, with a pause, "I truly am, I had not lost my parents at such a young age but. . ." she shook her head trying to not say it, her mother had died a few months ago due to her conditions when she had suffered serious injuries that had left her strapped onto the bed with medical equipment attached and monitoring her. She truly detested the site of her mother left motionless on the bed not being able to speak to her for a prolong amount of time. The Ministers were rather worrisome of the Empress, they opened the doors to the living room once they reached their destination. Kiyomi began to regain control of her trembling mouth.

Kiyomi: "B-But I can't relate my lose to yours, si-simply because my mother had died a few months ago and I remember her like that a fragrant cherry blossom. Speaking of cherry blossoms, they are a reminder of our fleeting life, reminding us of life, death, and renewal. To make the best out of our transitory life. To enjoy the passing time while we transit to a new present. To make merry of Life when it can end at any moment as the Gods and Goddesses wish to. Speaking of which, you do or do not practice some form of spirituality, Raphtalia-Sama?" she asks in curiosity, “I know that some individuals give up the belief of a higher existence due to the horrid things that had happened in Terra History, or to themselves of course, so I think it will be justifiable to not believe in some divine being that overlooks society.”

“Thank you Your Majesty,” Raphtalia said as she bowed. I can’t say my people have ever believed in a higher being, though I believe my parents, and everyone who had lost their lives are with me everyday, watching over me. That is why, along with the Chancellor, strive to make sure these atrocities never take place ever again.”

She then laughed. “I’m sorry, I’m dampening the mood here aren’t I? I should instead be taking in the scenery.” Lysithea, meanwhile, has kept silent while the two talked but she was smiling nonetheless, happy to see her friend had been able to bond with someone just like her.

Jakkonia wrote:Anna sighed as Sophie said she wasn't alright, though it seemed she wanted to forget the situation for the time being. Anna wasn't sure on what to say, Sophie's behavior being new to her. Anna had always been used to the photographers but she realized that Sophie was not. She thought about using her resources to get the man cancelled out but she realized she couldn't do that due to her putting her hat in the political ring.

Anna gave a faint smile.

"I-I'm alright Sophie..." she said, her voice soft and calm. To be honest she was a bit flustered on the inside, racing through ideas on how to make Sophie feel better. The Limo eventually stopped in front of an Apartment Complex in Downtown Valora. It was a rather nice area, probably due to the University aiding in the area's development.the limo doors opened, Anna getting out of the car and holding her hand out for Sophie.

"You coming?" she asked, a warm smile on her face. Anna did her best to convey confidence for Sophie, even if she wasn't the best at it. Of course Anna had her own problems but Sophie's we're always more important now. Her main mission was to make sure Sophie was happy.

I was still shaking by what just happened. My paranoia, my anxiety, they told me that in a matter of hours, those images would become visible in a matter of mere hours and that everyone would find out about what they weren't supposed to know, about me... well, being with Anna. In the back of my mind, the images of her and I kissing, of that happy moment, played constantly. However, even with that, I still felt angry.

She addressed me, and like always, her soft and almost angelical voice made my heartbeat slow down considerably, making me calmer overall. Such calmness was expressed in the form holding onto her hands tightly, in hopes I was never dumb enough to let go. I rubbed her hands, trying to be calm even with everything going on.

We walked out of the limousine, and the cold chill of the air made me reflexively cling onto her. However, I didn't want for anyone to notice I was with her. With this, I, hesitant, took off my jacket and began shivering almost immediately. "He-here. Take this, Anna... I... I give it to you s-so... no-nobody notices us being to-together..." I said, attempting to not stutter but failing.

[ Federal Dept. of Internal Affairs : Dept. Federal de Asuntos Internos : Dépt. Fédéral des Affaires Intérieures ]

Paradí/La Havane | Friday, 14 July 2147 | 14:23 CST

After the first general election this year did not result in the formation of a new government, new elections have been called and were held last Sunday on the 9th of July 2147. After several days of vote counting, the UIS Federal Department of Internal Affairs hereby publicly announces the outcome of the second general elections of 2147.

The Republican Left, which now holds 65 seats, has been superseded as strongest party in the Chamber of Deputies by the People's Party which, under the new leadership of Inca Ortiz de Rosas, managed to win 75 seats in total. Soon-to-be ex-President Halldórsson's Republican Left's coalition partners Party of the Latin-American Left and The Greens also suffered significant losses, now occupying 30 seats and 14 seats, respectively. Worth noting is that for these general elections, in order to not drop out of parliament, the Greens and the Movement of Indigenous Peoples formed an electoral alliance, with the latter making up for about 3 seats of the previously mentioned 14 seats. The fairly new populist Caribbean Civic Alliance were by far the biggest winner of the elections as they achieved to win 52 seats in their electoral debut. The distribution of overseas mandates did not change greatly: While the Maltese Nationalist Party managed to hold onto their 4 seats, the Cypriot Progressive Workers' Party only has one seat this time while the rivaling Democratic Rally's seats increased to 3 seats in total. In order, the outcome looks as follows:

  • People's Party (Partido Popular): 75 (+15)

  • Republican Left (Izquierda Republicana): 65 (–16)

  • Caribbean Civic Alliance (Alianza Cívica del Caribe): 52 (+52)

  • Party of the Latin-American Left (Izquierda Latinoamericana): 30 (–10)

  • The Greens/Indigenous Peoples Movement (Los VERDES/Movimiento Indígena): 14 (–20/–18)

  • Maltese Nationalist Party (Partit Nazzjonalista Maltin): 4 (±0)

  • Progressive Workers' Party (İlerici İşçi Partisi): 1 (–1)

  • Democratic Rally (Δημοκρατικός Συναγερμός) : 3 (+1)

Marked in bold you can see the parties that are very likely to form a working government for the United Insular States. The presidential candidate of the People's Party is their party leader, Inca Ortiz de Rosas, while the Caribbean Civic Alliance fields Héctor Melquíades Martell as their presidential candidate. The possible government parties are yet to decide whom they install as next Federal President. The incumbent coalition between the Republican Left, the Party of the Latin-American Left and the Greens will not be able to renew their tenure since they now make up for only 109 and thus less than 50% of the 244 total seats in the Chamber of Deputies.

Why am I running?

Under Karteria’s leadership, the NWI has flourished as a region and in the world as well. I want to continue that, and bring NWI into the bigger picture, as a region everyone knows and talks about. This will in turn bring in more people and maybe even bring in new players.

What are my goals?

When I first got involved with the government in the New Western Empire, a region full of political parties, I wanted to bring everyone to the table so that everyone’s voices could be heard. Little has changed, but instead I want to hear your voices as well as people from other regions to better our entire community.

Am I the right choice?

I can’t honestly say if I’m the best candidate, or if I would do better than my opponents since I’m sure they’re all qualified for the job, but what I can say is that I want to work hard for the region that took me in and let me do the things I want to do. On June 14, I hope you will give me and my colleagues the opportunity to represent you in the NWI and the NS community. Thank you all very much for giving me this opportunity to run.

Thank you very much Subadent for organising the competition and offering us this creative outlet in the first place, as well as everyone who participated! I really appreciate your votes -humbled, I have to say- though I also feel I have to apologise for the large influx of entries... Expecting more people to submit I decided to have a go at each category, but it did seem a bit unfair considering the overall number of entries: a slight misbehaviour from my part. It was good fun, nonetheless, and I'm absolutely sure the next regional event will be too.

Stay safe everyone!

Anna felt Sophie cling onto her as they exited the car, the cold air being quite prominent where they were. Anna looked over to Sophie as she clung on, wanting to hold her closer but before she could Sophie was taking off her jacket. Anna frowned slightly at this, sighing as Sophie tried to give it to her.

"Sophie... please.. I thank you for the jacket but please put it back on. I don't want you be cold."

Anna walked with Sophie inside, looking around for a moment at the ground floor lobby. Some of the apartment staff looked over to see her there, baffled as to why a prominent celebrity would show her face there. Anna gave an awkward smile and waved at them, though she was sort of uncomfortable with all the bewildered staring. Her face went somewhat red from slight embarrassment.

She backed up, accidentally bumping into someone. She looked back, startled to see the angered man looking at her.

"What the hell!" he said, Anna backing away for a moment.

"S-sorry!" she said, trying to be nice. He rolled his eyes.

"Stupid a** richie..." he said as he shook his head and walked off. Anna heard what he had said, though didn't really react to it, instead turning away and looking to the floor.

"I said sorry...." she said to herself in a near silent murmur.

ASHBURG | BRIDGEPORT PROVINCE
JANUARY 3RD 2148

BOOM

The skies over Ashburg burned a bright orange on the morning of January 3rd. People, living their daily lives, stopped and stared. They wondered what was about to happen or maybe what had already happened. In downtown what remains of City Hall is rubble, the flag of Patagonia being the last thing standing as rescue crews arrived on scene several minutes later. What they found was horrific, and would go down in Patagonian history books as the most tragic and violent in the country's history.

"Landing now command. Touchdown at ABCHR in 3... 2... 1...Landed sir."

"Good, start searching. Clear as much as possible, god damn it whatever happened there we need to find out..."

"got it sir."

Currently it is believed that the entirety of the city government was killed in the attack. It is expected that PM Kingsley will activate the Domestic Wartime clause within the coming hour in response, his administration putting a fiery response to the attack today in a speech, calling it "disgusting" and claiming that "those who died there will be avenged." Current totals reveal that 114 are dead, 517 are injured, and another 212 are currently missing. There is no doubt that this attack will bring new questions to the national government on the native populations remaining within the country, many who now see as a nuisance after the York Riots just a few months earlier.

"Command we've laid eyes on the former assembly room.."

"H-Hello.... help..."

"wait what? Did I just hear a hello there Squad Leader?"

"Y-Yes sir.. looking into it now.... current search and rescue has yielded one survivor in critical condition."

"T-Thank you... you really are a big help..."

"Wait... Mayor Averson?"

National Guard Forces have been sent into the city to keep the situation under control, the attack being claimed by the infamous Incan Brotherhood, a group known for their terrorist activities in the Northern Areas of the country, however this would be the first attack ever committed on this scale. Hours after the attack it is confirmed that Prime Minister Kingsely has signed the Domestic Wartime Clause into effect, this being only the third time in national history it had been used. Military Forces are expected to begin search and rescue missions within the coming day at most, if not earlier.

"Get her to a hospital now god dammit!"

"On it sir! Someone alert the heli! We got Mayor Averson here!"

*gunshots*

"What was that..."

"WE GOT HOSTILES! GET TO COVER!"

"W-WHAT?! IMPOSSIBLE!"

Wait what? We have reports that more hostiles have engaged local rescue forces searching through the ruins. It is currently believed that these forces have gotten a hold of Ashburg Mayor Riley Averson alive. We will have coverage of this event as soon as we can get camera men on scene, though currently it is reported that military forces have engaged hostiles on the ruins itself. No telling what happens past this point.

"Activate Protocol Delta now! We have Incan Brotherhood forces on the ground as we speak!"

"On it Squad Leader! Forces on route now, keep the area secure!"

We have word that military reinforcements have arrived in Ashburg to deal with the terrorist threat. We know millions across the country are now tuning in as this news spreads. The Kingsley Administration will be making a speech on the matter shortly. Oh? It seems PM Kingsely is ready now, cameras are now trained on the National Parliament.

"My fellow Patagonians... today we have faced a crisis nobody thought we would ever have to. For today we watched as hundreds of our brothers and sister died at the hands of bloodthirsty terrorists. We watched as today they now try and engage in combat against our respected military enforcers. It is time that the national government takes extreme action to combat the Incan Brotherhood. There is no hope for reason, there is no hope for diplomacy. Now we put faith in our weapons. We put faith in our soldiers. We put faith in Patagonia." |

Hm... short speech but strong words from the Prime Minister, now we can surely expect to see military action taken against the Brotherhood. We were able to bring in noted Representative, Representative Gregors of Ashburgs 1st District, where this attack happened. Sir what ar your feelings on the attack?

"Well quite frankly its disgusting... it shows the true colors of this so called movement. They wish to supplant us."

"Wait what? Are you discussing the Brotherhood?"

"The Brotherhood mainly yes, though for years now we have dealt with the scourge and only now the government does something? Seems a bit late."

"I see then...I assume you will be visiting your home district to try and calm the populace. Though I would like to know, what are your opinions on the matter?"

"Oh absolutely, there is no excuse for what happened.. the fact is that these disgusting people attacked not only the institutions of our country but also innocent people and now our men and women in uniform. There is no excuse for these actions and you can count on me to oppose any legislation that dares give this group any concessions."

"I see then... well we thank you for your time Representative."

"No problem at all."

Across Ashburg military forces trmpled over the Incan Brotherhood, the city being under a state of martial law as Soliders sweep the surrounding towns for members of the Incan Brotherhood. Images of fighting in the streets have reached the national media and the government, both horrified by the mere sight of it. An emergency meeting of the Parliament has been scheduled as reports of the incident begin to leak to the global press. Patagonia meanwhile begins its push into Incan Brotherhood strongholds, the nation prepared to do battle. Government action on this has been oddly swift as the day's gone on, though we here hope that this will mean that change is in the air.

"Sir... all hostiles dealt with... though Mayor Averson was lost."

"Dammit! Just... get back to base..."

"Understood sir."

The soldier looked at the dead militant before him, the blood spilled out onto the road. He sighed, why did things have to come to this. A helicopter landed to pick him up, getting in it and looking out at the city as Military vehicles began to move into the area. Something told the man it was going to be a long few months.

That said, does your nation have any stipulations or criteria that would make this treaty null or void? It would be nice to know so that we can take direct steps to preserve this treaty to the best of our abilities. As any treaty would, im sure both your side and mine have some things that we would want to make rigid and clear when I t comes to being in violation of the agreement"

SHANGXIANG | ShangXiang Imperial Palace

With the snap of his finger's, Prime Minister Metaxas ordered his assistant to pull up a chair next to him and begin typing the terms of the treaty. As agreed upon prior, the terms of the free trade agreement would be as follows:

-National treatment: Each party has committed to the obligation to treat imported and domestically produced goods equally. This means that a good imported from another party cannot be subject to more burdensome conditions such as higher taxes, stricter product regulation, or broader restrictions on its sale than for a similar domestically produced good.

-Elimination of customs duties: All parties have committed to eliminating tariffs on goods imported from other parties.

-Import and export restrictions: Beyond tariffs, a party may not maintain or adopt prohibitions or restrictions on the import or export of any good from or to the other party, except under the specific circumstances set out in the text of the Agreement. These include situations of short supply, conservation of natural resources where domestic consumption or production is also restrained, and restrictions imposed in conjunction with domestic price stabilization schemes. Also, to the extent that a party maintains an import or export prohibition or restriction on a good (e.g. dangerous materials) of a non-party, that party may continue to do so. This includes cases where a party restricts or prohibits imports of goods of the non-party that have arrived via the other party, as well as exports intended for a non-party that would have been shipped indirectly through the other party.

-Import licensing: Parties are permitted to require that importers possess a licence as a prior condition for importation into their customs territory. Such licences may be required for otherwise restricted goods or in some cases to help monitor and allocate the quantity of imports.

-Export duties, taxes or other charges: This article prohibits the imposition of additional duties, taxes or other charges on exports destined to another party that are not also imposed on that good when sold domestically.

With the only stipulations being that the treaty would be null and void if hostilities (heaven forbid) ever arose between both nations or if any of the terms of the free-trade agreement are violated, the Prime Minister asked Empress Momo if she had any other terms that should be added before this treaty is printed and signed.

Momo pushed her eyeglass to her face and began to read the treaty. She looked over every word, every phrase, every paragraph, and every article that had been outlined in the treaty. Some she read once, others she read a few time, all the while Hiei had taken note of, and broken down the document in its entirety in a matter of seconds for record keeping an additional proof of the treaty being outlined.

"I would actually like to add some termination criteria to the treaty that both your nation and mine find agreeable. The reason I request this is because I believe that it is only fair, for the sake of records as well as our own respective benefits, that we make it clear and precise what would put our nations in respective violation of the treaty, so as not to cause confusion and to ensure that we make our policies with the treaty in mind." Momo said politely, looking up only slightly, her eyeglass covered eye briefly uncovered from the eyeglass.

Takao's shoe was heard dropping free from her foot. The somewhat carefree Princess ignored it, so as not to bring further attention to herself, she simply stretched her toes and continued to toy with her blue hair. Hiei stared daggers in her direction with her amber eyes, Takao picking up her shoe after this.

"I should mention of course that I've only a few, albeit important, criteria that I feel should be mentioned, as I sure you do as well. What I mean is im trying to do what other countries people call 'covering our rear ends'." Momo finished she continued to talk during the Takao ordeal.

The Systems Alliance of Ventus Prime

I made a thing if people are interested.

Nubila is considered the first planet of the Kapetyn System and was the beginning of the Kapetyn War. After the unexpected encounter of CIC forces, the Republic temporarily retreated, only to return with a much larger force, ready to liberate the planet and begin the liberation of the entire system. This is the account of forces involved in that first battle.

- - -

Outside Nubila’s Orbit

The fleet that jumped out of hyperspace consisted of ten Nebula-class Star Destroyers, four Endurance-class carriers, six Pelta-class attack frigates, and eight Raider-class corvettes. The enemy’s numbers added to a total of twenty-five ships, a mix between capital ships and frigates. The fleet opened fire as it went to meet the CIC forces, starfighters launching almost immediately.

Among this group was Shadow Squadron, a squadron of Z-95s that led the attack and provided cover for the ARC-170s and Y-Wings. Their leader was Captain Lysithea Snow, one of the youngest captains the Republic had ever enlisted. “All wings report in,” she said calmly.

“This is Shadow Two, standing by.”

“Shadow Three standing by.”

The rest of the fighters of Red, Blue, and Gold Squadrons sounded off as they approached the CIC. “Enemy fighters incoming!”

“Man they’re fast!”

Lysithea kept her cool as she attempted evasive maneuvers. The swarms of fighters, which they learned only twenty-four hours ago were all controlled by droids, were coming in fast and Lysithea swung her fighter to the left before opening fire, one of the lasers clipping of the droid ships and causing it to explode.

“Shadow and Blue Squadron, lets clear out these fighters so Red and Gold Squadron can make their runs.”

“You got it boss.”

The Z-95s scattered along with the V-wings of Blue Squadron as the larger ships started opening fire on one another. The Nebulas may have been small, but they had the advantage of offensive weaponry plus superior shielding. As soon as there was an opening, the Republic could begin landing its ground forces.

Lysithea then noticed there were smaller fighters, ones that were faster and apparently more deadly as one of Blue Squadron’s ships went down. Never thought a droid could fly that fast... she thought. Then one of the ships started coming after her. “Sorry I don’t have time for you,” she said as she suddenly pulled back on the yoke, causing her ship to do a somersault. Surprisingly, the droid managed to do the same before she could get behind it.

The things wanted to dance and Lysithea was happy to oblige. She switched power to her frontal shields as she went head first towards the enemy fleet.

No surprise, her cockpit lit up as turbolaser fire erupted around her ship, but her shields were holding steady. It was then she noticed one of the capital ships, specifically what appeared to be its bridge. She only had one shot at this, assuming the droid would figure out her strategy.

The broadside cannons fired at her as her ship ducked and weaved and she was able to see a small gap below the bridge, wide enough to pull off her trick. She increased power to the engines, giving her a small boost in speed as she went straight for the bridge. The droid’s suddenly intensity in its attack meant it could tell what she was planning, or what she wanted it to think.

In the very last second when it seemed as if she was about to crash, she suddenly spun to the right and managed to slip by the small gap underneath the bridge as the droid suddenly crashed into the side of the bridge, sucking whatever was inside into space.

Lysithea breathed a sigh of relief as the speaker in her helmet went off. “Captain, what the hell was that?”

Lysithea suddenly smirked. “Me giving you an opening, Admiral Pellaeon. You may want to hurry while you still have the chance.”

Meanwhile, on the Nebula-class Improviser, Admiral Pellaeon sighed as he shook his head. “I don’t know how the hell you pull these feats off Captain, but good work nonetheless.” He then ended the transmission. “You heard her, I want all ground forces to take off immediately. Get those Raiders to provide cover for them!”

Momo pushed her eyeglass up her face a smidge, and looked up again. "I would like it to be known that we consider this treaty terminated if you become a socialist/communist or fascist/nazist government. We don't approve nor endorse extremist governments of any kind, because put simply, we know that the far ends of the political spectrum usually never have good intentions with what they do. This is important to us because, as of now, we have not endorsed far left or far right governments, and we would like to keep it that way, because we believe in a world where both left and right should be allowed to share their ideals without the fear of disappearing or put to the wall and what have you. Perhaps you might understand Your Most Serene Excellency, given that while your powers are mostly ceremonial to my understanding, you dont dismiss the possibility that these far groups would depose you the moment they got into power. We also consider any and all war crimes to be termination of this treaty, since you and I both know that no nation worth their land would be okay with supporting a criminal government. Thirdly, if my nation or yours sends citizens as political rabble rousers, i would think that the treaty would be considered terminated or restricted. Lastly, any aggression against us, or you, would, in my eyes, terminate this treaty." She said in her assertive yet beautiful and warm voice.
