Diplomat Gnaeus Pompeius Quintus "Unless you have literally only a single gate into and out of your own home system, I doubt you can even begin to fathom the situation from the Umbran perspective. Currently, there is no guarantee that you will not send a battlefleet through the gate to our homeworld right now, and that is something that my Imperator will simply not allow to happen, ever."

Lord Hadrian hand tightened and he smiled tightly, "Then let's make a guarantee, here and now. I am authorized by a royal prerogative to secure your neutrality in the conflicts within this system, but ceding control of our own gate is impossible without concessions. If you are unwilling to concede concessions and attempt to take the gate by force, then the Dominion will send a battle fleet. I ask of you, here and now, to come to an agreement with me as to safeguard the safety and prosperity of our two nations."

Know that if war comes, you will not be facing Roman Umbrans, but Aldian Umbrans, the mightiest fighting force to ever exist. Concede ownership of the Gate first, and then we can talk."

A scout ship floated into the system and a large battleship floated behind at a distance. They came to a stop and began to survey their surroundings. "I assume we are in the near south east correct?" Nix peered at the display screen and the navigator looked over and nodded "yes my lord." The Quaesitor turned to the window and strengthened himself up. "Accelerate forwards then. We keep going until I order you to stop." He clenched his teeth "No more this surveying nonsense, we will do that on the way back to Hudelia." The navigator looked at him and swallowed. "Yes my lord. But I mu-" he was cut off by The Quaesitor "My orders are final! Have they taught you nothing in your useless academy?! You do as I order." Nix stared him down before returning his gaze back to the abyss of space in front of him. The navigator pushed the accelerator and begin to move the battleship forwards.

Lord Hadrian closed his eyes, sighed and then opened them, softly stating, "Then come and claim your property, " spitting out in disgust, "and pay the price for it.". He turned on the spot and began to walk back to his ship, with the belief he had done all he could to avoid war.

Nix squinted and frowned. "You may stop this ship now, noble navigator" the ship came to a halt and the scout ship leading it stopped as well and turned back to dock with the battleship. The captain approached him "What is it my lord?" He asked. "If you dare to confront our scanners you'll find that we have company." The captain raised his eyebrow "More space animals?" Nix looked over. "Xenos, sapient life. Ready our defenses just in case. Tell the pilots to stand at the ready to board their ships if the need comes." He ordered. The mechanical and digital whirring grew loud as the crew went silent before they all went back to their jobs immediately preparing the battleship.

Diplomat Gnaeus Pompeius Quintus "Truly your government is one that deserves to fall, if they send a fool like you instead of a proper diplomat to talks as sensitive as these. The might of Umbran arms will bring you to heel, and I look forward to seeing you in chains during Grand Admiral Angelus' triumph."

further colony ships are being sent out now, to systems that had been seeded by the drone ships, which should aid at least a bit in terms of time and effort on their part.

meanwhile, at home trade, transport and economy has been greatly boosted by a new advanced VI known as S.A.M.s. able to handle the work of a crew of 7-8, they have made it incredibly affordable to run a space freighter, no longer needing a team of very skilled, expensive and in demand experts. while it struggles to do large scale ships, it has led to a vast rise in single owner ships, and the economy is expected to reap great benefit from this for years to come.
in unrelated news, a series of accidents have hit crew members of ships, that also happen to use the new SAMs. it is unknown what the cause of these are, and the only link is that they have all been female. thankfully, no one has been seriously hurt in any way.

Centurion Kariant Monst sat in his command chair in a heavy silence, his scientific officer Korsan Devrim next to him and discussing the newly discovered probe near the relay. "Current scans indicate that the probe is not of the same make as the relays, sir, implying that-""That we are dealing with a separate entity entirely. It is of Sakooran make?". Devrim frowned and looked at his pad for a few moments before shaking his head. "No, sir. I would go as far as to say it is entirely distinct from the Sakoorans. This is something new. And going by the amount of transmissions it has been sending, something active. We may have a live contact soon.". Monst nodded and stood from his chair, gesturing to a nearby bridge member, and grasped the railing tightly. "All crew, we have a Code Red Summer. Go to Alert Three and standby for future instructions.". Monst then spoke to the bridge crew, "Prime the shields and guns, I do not want to be caught with our pants down. Sensors, keep a tight watch, no blindsides today. Helm, be prepared for evasive maneuvers, better to not get hit than test if we can take a hit.". The Carbonaut surged into activity, beginning a light burn away from the relay.

Sector K38, Arcturus_Station, sol_2879

Arcturus Station is lively at the calmest times, but it has never seen such a rush. Munitions are carried through the halls, med-bays prepared, defenses activated.. Primarch Vakarian stands in the midst of the station, looking across the star-port in the direction of Alpha relay...

It has been just a few years since we used the relays for the first time, and now activity has been detected just a sector away... The thought of who or what has been detected was pushed away by many, covered up with their work. People keep themselves busy preparing.. for what? Most don't even bother thinking about it, but some have to... we, the Primarchs, the Generals.. the people rely on us to hold the Hierarchy together at times like these.. or.. were any other times like these? What exactly did we get ourselves into...

"Primarch Vakarian, the vultures are ready, sir" reports fleet commander Arterius, tearing the Primarch away from his thoughts. "We will head to the relay on your command, sir. The Primarch turns around, staring blankly at his commander. Both of them have served in the army long enough to know that no matter how well they may be prepared, nothing could prepare them for what may come through that relay. If the tech of the relay was the indicator to go by, the turians found themselves on the defense for the first time in their history. "Right, board the flagship and await my command" responds Primarch Vakarian. As commander Arterius boarded one of the Vulture-class dreadnaughts, the flagships of the Turian fleet, Primarch Vakarian returned to his observation of the alpha relay. The plan was simple, whatever was waiting for them in the nearby sector, the Turian commanders planned to lock down alpha relay, and investigate later. The usual daring of the Turian fleet was defeated by a single idea, an idea of an enemy so technologically superior, the surival of Turian race was at stake in case the Turians attacked... And so we wait, blockading the relay..

New-Order2 wrote:Second Turian Hierarchy

after investigating and activating the relay, the Vanians send a small scout fleet to the other side. this consists of a single scout ship meant for survey and scanning duty, and 2 drone ships equipped with first wave colony drones, as the Vanians expect at least one world on the other side to be worth setting up at least a mining outpost, with any extra supplies planned to be used for building space based stations.

Out of nowhere, the relay activated.. The vultures and over 150 other vessels were waiting at the relay, as three vessels jumped through. For a second, everyone considered opening fire, and it seemed to be the longest second, but the technology of the foreign vessels did not seem superior. "A small ship with two drones, that is what were afraid of?" scoffs commander Arterius, and starts to move in to capture the vessels. He is only stopped by the Primarch, who decides the foreign vessels to make the first move, a move perhaps far more risky then moving ahead with a preemptive strike.. Suddenly, it seemed as if everyone forgot about the activity in the other sector. After all, there was a threat in the Turian home sector now, but Primarch Vakarian did not forget. Three stealth frigates of the Normandy class were sent through the Alpha relay to the nearby sector to investigate...

The scout fleet had come expecting an unoccupied system, that they could set up on. With a total fleet crew of 15 people and the only weapons being mining tools, it was quite a shock to find a massive fleet of unknown ships here. Seeing that they were helplessly outnumbered, and even the most outdated weapons could still take them on, when they see the unknown fleet start to advance on them, they attempt to retreat back through the Cannon(relay).
