Regaining Control (Pt2 to page=rmb/postid=55730091) 2/2 For almost several decades. the Multiversal Portal in Yukon. now commonly known to the Columbians as simply "The Hole" had been a thorn in the side of the Columbians. constant evacuations due to almost constant and random expansions. along with all of the other issues the simply massive and overgrown portal would cause had drained far too many resources. This "Hole" had to be closed immediately and without delay according to the Emperor. after all, it was only 153 days until Columbia turned 1000 years old. and as this was planned to be a massive celebration. the risk of this "The Hole" interfering with that work was less than ideal. Therefore once Columbia had sealed itself off from the outside world for 2 days the Operation. nicknamed "Operation SOS" would begin. It would take place in hopefully only two stages. the first stage begins with Columbian soldiers evacuating almost a 150-mile radius around the portal premeitvily out of fear that it could explode while the Columbians were working on it. Officially this was because of an FEV leak. However, most citizens in the area were not fooled by this. hence the reason Columbia had cut itself off. it could simply not risk other nations finding out about this and trying to intervene to stop them. the first stage continues with the Columbians using there already existing quantum radar systems from the orbital satellite "Geneis 1" a spy satellite that would be normally observing the arctic sea to begin analyzing the properties of "The Hole". and then transmitting this data back to the FIB Special Research and Anomoloy Divison. as well as NASA HQ who would be attempting to prepare the data for hopefully a future reactivation. from this the Columbians could figure that "The Hole" acted much like a wormhole. however unlike a wormhole. it was a tunnel to almost trillions of other similar holes. it seems that in the time Columbia had just let it be it had been busy. This scared the FIB SRAD. who was now extremely worried that it might connect to a universe that had hostile life that would attempt to Immediately cross into it. surprisingly NASA also reported to SRAD that it connected to almost a million points within our own unvierise. points to even within the observable universe. this would also explain the massive amount of caotic cosmic radiation. However now that SRAD knew it operated like a wormhole they could with their plan. Thousands of gravity bombs would be launched towards the hole. to other nations it almost looked like Columbia was bombing itself. however, this was a very simple thing. The Hole would be simply overwellemed by the sheer force and by proxy destabilizing it. suddenly yet another explosion rang out from the hole knocking out power across various points in North America. However instead of expanding it was now rapidly collapsing. all that it would leave it in its wake is bare bedrock as everything else had been torn into the portal. leaving almost 15 mile crater like state. surprisingly however it was found that once the portal had fully collapsed. most of the underground infrastructure that had been used to create it was still marginally intact. this surprised SRAD who immeditialy moved to send agents down there in hasmat suits as everything was irradiated it. however, these SRAD agents would manage to finally power down the system. The Zeropoint Reactors that had fueled this mess from the beginning would be shut down and then blown up in spotanious explosions. SRAD voiced interest in attempting to open a more stable one with the lesson learned. Julian stated that he would consider it. Finally Columbia would come back online almost 64 hours later and several days of work. Meanwhile the IDI and Hegemonic Offiicals would be separately. and secretly informed of Columbia's intention to reactivate the protect by 2735. hopefully this time without a major failure. Columbia At Arms The last straw had been had. while Columbia was busy fixing its problems the Cosmocracy. those supposed "Rulers of Earth" had demanded from our anglo allies Afghanistan or they would invade. not only was such threat to Anglo Sovereignty considered such an insult to the Empire. It had also made the Emperor mad. He had it with the Cosmocracy, firstly they invaded Nigeria, something that was still in living memory for him especially considering it happened in his youth. and then the forced Aramos to join them. And now it seemed like they were slowly gearing to a war with the IA. Well he stated. if it was a war the cosmocracy wanted. it was a war they were going to get. In a televised speech were the Empreor could be basically seen yelling at the Federalist People's Party. He demanded that Columbia declare state Preiptiratory to War. or he would declare a state of Unlimited Emergency and do it himself. FPP Conceded in almost Unanimous Congressional Vote, a State of Preperation was declared. while it was not formally stated that this was against the Cosmocracy. it could be assumed that it was by any outside observer. And with this, the Emperor that same night would declare a State of Unlimited Emergency in Columbia, suspending the Columbian Consitution. transferring all authority to the executive positions and the Imperial High Command. the first act of mobolization would be the reactivation of the Draft. millions of Columbians. totalling around 200 million would be sent draft orders telling them to report to there local military recruitment center immediately and await for further orders. all reservist would be called up in a similar fashion. and the police would begin heavy weapons training. all militas and national gaurds would be federalized and put under the Imperial High Command. the Columbian Military would jump from 5.3 Billion to 5.9 Billion. with the break down being 1.976 billion Robots, 2 billion Clones, and 1.976 Billion Organics. While publically the Columbian Military would be transferred to DEFCON 2. Secretly it would be DEFCON 1. DEFCON had acted for almost several hundred years as Columbias Military Preradaridness Ranking. DEFCON 1 was the only one not announced, and this for spesfic reason that this order basically saw the Columbian Military on Maximum Readiness. It changed Columbia's WMD MAD and NFU Doctrines to preemptive strike. Which effectively allows Columbia to use all of its WMDs without resistrction and without warning on any country it wished to upon the Exuecitve's, or in this case. the Emperors order. DEFCON 1 also set Columbia's Military to be ready to act on any offensive or defensive order within 10 minutes. meaning if the Emperor ordered it Columbian Forces in Indochina were expected to begin bombarding the Chinese Border with artillery within 10 minutes of receiving this order. Obviously, this put a lot of the Columbian Military on edge. And the Imperial High Command was being to dredge up any data on the Oranic army that they had. this would lead to the discovery of two things. the Cosmocracy's Captial Auriso location. at least approximately anyway was known to the Columbians. it was in eygpt somewhere around the ruins of Cario, this came as a shock however the high command remembered that the Columbians and at that time Wooloosians had actually supplied a rebellion in the Oranic Underground. Therefore the Imperial High Command would immediately secretly alert there Ebottian and Hegemonic counterparts that they had found the approximate location of the Cosmocratic Captial. although it was heavily stated that this may no longer the be case. it was implied that the Cosmocracy had only moved the capital maybe only a couple miles away from the original site of Auriso. Meanwhile, the Garrisons defending the Indonchines Border would be reinforced by a fresh 100,000 Soldiers. who would dig themselves in multiple lines of defense? mostly using the jungle to their advantage while almost 1.5 million soldiers would be moved to Indochina in General, 100,000 of these would be moved around 100 miles from the border to begin preparing to act as an offensive force once an organic attack had been repelled or the oranics had managed to breach the border and an immediate counteroffensive would be needed. in addition, Columbia would move 800,000 soldiers to Anglo Sanadivana. mostly moving them to an already established basis and setting up on key defensive points and major cities facing the Baltic Sea, especially Finland who would see the entire coast garrisoned. A similar would happen in the Raj as 800,000 Troops were spread across the long Chinese Border. with an additional 2.3 Million being moved to India in General. The Columbian Navy would deploy 10 carrier task forces comprising of almost 100 ships each to the to both the North and South Atlantic while also turning on every radar system it had barriered into the Atlantic just to make sure nothing Oranic made it through to Columbia without them noticing. the Forces on the east coast would be heavily reinforced. a similar occurrence would happen in the Pacific, and Arctic Seas aswell. a Stage 3 Civil Alert would be put out. 3rd on a 5 tier ranking. This asked all Columbian Civilians to make sure that their weapons were prepared. Evacuation Bags packed and bunkers are up to code. aswell as making sure to report anything suspicious they see. All militas would be Federalized so would all National Gaurd Units. the Government would begin to move important officials away from major cities and to either smaller towns or underground bunker complexes as Columbia prepared for an imminent cosmocratic invasion. the Forces in Panama would be further secured. so would the forces facing Manchuria. Columbia would officially request that its IA allies begin to pursue similar mobilizations. Meanwhile the Columbians would reach out to the Soviets. formerly requesting that they set up diplomatic talks between the rumored remaining communards and the Columbian Government. stating that they wish to negotiate withdraw from France to allow resources to be used elsewhere particularly the cosmocracy. as Columbia now declared the there Number 1 National Security Threat. a threat must be eliminated for the continued survival of the Columbian Nation The Eagle will not be backed into a corner. |
