A Gae'Schtr'ou is actually, a tree. The Cryptarii do not see aspects of animals in themselves, so they instead value the most important thing in Cryptarin: Trees. the Gae'Schtr'ou are trees that are made to grow in long, wall-like arrangements, and possess thick, broad leaves that interlock with other Gae'Schtr'ou leaves to form the armored canopy that covers almost the entirety of Cryptarin. Leaves in contact with one another will hook over those of a different tree, creating the link needed for a tight, comprehensive surface. When weight is applied, the strength of the canopy increases, reliant on the weight of volcanic ash above the trees to keep the canopy sealed and the leaves tightly-knit, think like a chain. Gae'Schtr'ous can grow to be as much as eighty feet long and ten feet thick, though most are somewhere in the sixty to seventy foot range, and six to eight feet thick.
